Need a sanity check about whether to accept a promise of return shipping reimbursement

Seller sent me a counterfeit/bootleg record. I called him out on it. He says send it back. I replied asking him to send me a label. He indicates that he doesn't know how and that he will repay my return shipping cost once I ship it back. I replied that I didn't think his promise would be enforceable by Ebay and didnt like the idea. Whats the best way to resolve this? Open a complaint?

if I order an order and the ETA comes back as too long can I cancel?

So it usualy gives you a price. You select the option. Then it searches. If it comes back with 15 or 20 mins, can I cancel for free? Or am I stuck? Doing a 4am with driving to destination as backup. Not sure how that is going to play out. I dont want to order in advance because its more expensive.

How much uber/lyft availability is there at 4am in Ashland?

Hi folks. I'm in Ashland (not too far from Framingham). I need to get to logan express around 4:30am tomorrow morning. Is there generally a good amount of availability that early? Thinking about whether I should either order ahead or at least be prepared to drive to and park at Logan express.

No Gate Agent for Jetblue arrival this evening

Stuck on the plane for almost 40 mins. Scheduling error led to no gate agent. If you know the airport, its basically dead after 10pm. I wonder how long it will take to find someone to help.

looking for presentation ideas

Healthy family competition on vacation. Someone is doing blue curacao, shark gummies and red drops of grenadine to simulate "blood in the water". What other tricks are there that wouldn't look like a similar copycat, but similarly easy to execute? You can embed something in ice cubes to be melted away, but then you have to make ice molds and that's just too much work. I can't find any other ideas.

Questions about fishing the Powell River in TN

Not to be confused with Powell River in VA which apparently is big on this.

Going to be staying this summer on Powell River near Jumping Rock and John's Cove on the Powell River. Anyone else fish this area before? I can't find much info about fishing this river. I am just interested in smallmouth catch and release. I am mainly looking for advice on what lure to use and best time of day to fish. Any locals want to give me some pointers? I don't have a lot of experience. I know to fish the areas where there is a lot of cover like rocks, shelves, coastline, and fallen trees. Just don't want to spend hours out there and not catch anything....haha. Any help, advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

Vent - people can leave bad reviews when no deal was done

I always do my deals at the local police station. I had an "incident" one time ....and i'm done with the McDs parking lot where people can go nuts.

Anyway, someone was interested in buying. I said right out of the gate that we had to meet at the police station. Time came to meet and she was shopping 10 mins away. Wanted me to come into the store. I repeatedly said im not doing it. We went back and forth and eventually she called it off. She had plans with others and clearly couldnt make the 10 min hike to the police station. I also thought it was amusing that she tried to sell me on "its no big deal because I work for the sheriff's dept in x city".

Anyway...fast-forward 5 months later and I see this bs review that she left 5 months ago - 1 star and "difficult to work with". So I replied pointing out that she kept asking to change the location from the police station and acting like it was no big deal.

I know potential buyers will see my side from the reply. But it's annoying that people can leave reviews in this manner. Anyone can say anything about any one. Who came up with this nonsense?

Looking for budget winter tires bc I live in NE Ohio

Looking for budget winter tires for an AWD vehicle and they just dont seem to exist. I have an older Honda PIlot (2013) with a rusting tailgate. I have to buy new tires right now (unfortunately) and I have no idea what the future holds for this vehicle. I dont want to buy the CC2s even though they were great for the last 6 years (too much uncertainty about the future). I am thinking about the Altimax 365AW, but the Continental is a lot cheaper this weekend bc of $80 off deal at Discount Tire. I keep coming back to CC2 bc the minimal cost difference. No other options for me as far as I can tell. Michelin Defenders seem like they suck in the winter (those are $899 OTD at Costco)

CC2 at Costco (OTD): 1033

Continental: $960 will full roadside hazard warranty (waiving the installation costs) at Discount Tire (899 without full hazard waranty)

Altimax AW365 at Discount Tire: 989 without roadsize hazard full warranty (1066 with full warranty) (same exact price as Mokian bc Nokian is being pricematched to Altimax)

Nokian Encompass at Discount Tire: 1066 with full roadside hazard warranty

Is the below comparison accurate?

You’re now comparing:

  • Continental ControlContact Tour M A/S vs
  • General AltiMAX 365 AW

These are not the same category of tire, and that’s the key point.

❄️ Snow performance (big picture)

Tire Category Snow traction Ice/slush
Continental ControlContact Tour M A/S Touring all-season Good OK–good
General AltiMAX 365 AW All-weather (3PMSF) Very good Very good

🧠 The important difference

Continental = “normal all-season”

  • Built for:
    • comfort
    • quiet ride
    • long tread life
  • Snow ability:
    • light snow OK
    • slush + packed snow = limited

General AltiMAX = “winter-capable all-weather”

  • Built for:
    • cold temps
    • frequent snow/ice
    • year-round use (including winter certification)
  • Snow ability:
    • noticeably stronger bite
    • better stopping
    • more confidence in real storms

❄️ What you would actually feel in Ohio

Continental (what you’re used to)

  • fine on plowed roads
  • slight slip in slush
  • ABS kicks in earlier when stopping
  • AWD helps you move—but stopping is the limit

AltiMAX 365 AW

  • more grip pulling out of snowy intersections
  • shorter stopping distances in slush
  • more stable when snow is “wet and heavy”
  • feels more “locked in” below 30°F

📊 The real-world gap

This is the key insight:

👉 The AltiMAX is not “a little better in snow”
👉 It is one full category better in winter conditions

Because:

  • it carries the 3PMSF snow rating
  • Continental does not

That rating difference actually shows up in braking and slush performance.

💰 Tradeoffs

Continental wins on:

  • quieter ride
  • slightly better highway refinement
  • potentially longer tread life feel
  • slightly lower cost sometimes

AltiMAX wins on:

  • snow traction (big win)
  • cold-weather grip
  • winter confidence
  • AWD effectiveness (tires let AWD actually work better)

🏁 Bottom line for your Pilot

For your Honda Pilot EX-L AWD:

If winter confidence matters:

👉 General AltiMAX 365 AW is clearly better

If you mostly drive:

  • plowed roads
  • highway commuting
  • occasional snow

👉 Continental is “good enough”

👍 Simple way to think about it

  • Continental = “safe all-season tire”
  • AltiMAX = “all-season that behaves like a light winter tire”

My honest recommendation

Given Ohio conditions (freeze/thaw, slush, surprise snow):

👉 If pricing is similar: choose AltiMAX 365 AW
👉 If Continental is meaningfully cheaper or you value comfort more: Continental is fine

But between these two, AltiMAX is the stronger winter tire by a noticeable margin—more than BFGoodrich vs Continental.

Train to Fenway from Framingham station?

Hi. I am new to the area. I actually live in Ashland, but not too far from Framingham. I pass the Framingham/Worcester line train station all the time on Waverly. I did a quick search and it looks like the train will take me to Lansdowne right near Fenway. I have never taken the train from there before. What is parking like at the train station? It looks like it would be $4 for the evening so long as I am back by midnight? Anything else I need to know? I know that if its an extra inning game, I need to leave early enough to catch the last train at 11:56? Looking at the schedule, it looks like I can either leave the game early at 10:11pm to be in Framingham by 10:50pm or I have to wait until the 11:56pm to be in Framingham by 12:35am. Assuming the game ends around 10-10:30, I guess I am stuck there for 1.5-2hours. Im assuming I would pay $8 for parking if I roll in at 12:35am?
