Preventive Trail Maintenance and spares

Hey all!

Just recorded this episode for the show and got to thinking, I don’t really know quite as much about the 8.1 platform as I do my other trucks.

What are some big block specific / 2500 specific parts that could be useful for me on the trail and what are some things that can be a day ender that are easily fixed or upgraded now?

Much appreciated!

Weaponized incompetence

Will making money from his extreme incompetence should be motivation for everyone watching to just go do the thing in your head.

Newest video is…wow lol

The little Subaru that humbles jeeps.

Hey all, this is relevant and maybe a cool change of normal pace. I think you’ll enjoy it!

I’m not a Subaru owner but I am a Subaru enjoyer!

I’ve been leading offroad and overland trips for the better part of 10 years now and this forester is without a doubt one of the most, if not the most surprising vehicles I’ve ever been around.

Brandt is a hell of a driver and has done extremely well in the 24 Hours of Appalachia Overland Rally events.

Here’s an interview with Brandt, the owner, and some behind the scenes details about his forester.

We love our Subarus (roombas) on the trail and would be stoked to have more of you guys around!

You can listen to the interview on Spotify and all other platforms as well, but there’s no video/car footage included there.

If any of you are on the fence about some softroading/overlanding, hit CAMO up, we’re always free, and promise an excellent time!

The baddest Forester I’ve had the chance to wheel with!

Help finding a true cast iron griddle

Howdy all.

Hunting for a cast iron griddle similar to the blackstone 17” series, but I’m not interested in coatings/teflon, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For sure looking for an all in 1, and not a cast plate to stick on a Coleman grill.

The OEM+ Build

What’s up fellas, I’m starting my hunt for items were rare/the bees knees, or otherwise cool in the early 2000s for these trucks.

What are some interior bits I should look for?

I wouldn’t be opposed to headlight/tail options too, but I don’t want to look like I fell into a JC Whitney catalog or Autozone sticker isle

Day 2!

Day 2 was a riot!

I however cannot wait to replace this g80 with a truetrac lol. I don’t necessarily plan on wheeling this particular truck this hard often, but still, man oh man some predictability would be nice.

Managed 150 trail miles today and am camping on the bank of the Fox river. Not bad!

Also of note.
I’m the biggest shit talker of maxtrax ever. I hate them.

And I had to use them today lol.

Day 1!

Front crank seal didn’t enjoy 9 hours at 75mph but we ball lol.

Other than that, all good. 10-11 mpg. Sorry gretta.

Little man made it 4.7 miles, littler man made it about 1.5. By summer my 4yo should be ready for some easier trails.

Hello, I am looking to purchase a new gmrs system for new full-size truck build.

Use case: Back country travel, convoy communication.

Less important: repeater use

I’m looking in the MXT275 price range, but I’m interested in more wattage.

Occasionally my group is a few miles apart, and my mxt115 just isn’t enough punch.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
