Who are some of the most technical / flashy characters in MKX?

Looking for sauciest of the sauces. The flashiest of the flashy. The more technical and stylish, the better. I don't care about optimal damage. I want spice.

Which characters / variations should be looked at first?

Who are some of the best point/battery characters?

Trying to think of a point character who is strong without needing meter so I can have some levels built up for Adult Gohan in my mid slot.

If it matters at all, I have a preference for technical / flashy / saucy characters.

Archetype doesn't really matter to me. I'm fine playing aggressive or zoning/defensive.

Is it worth it to play SWTOR just to learn the rest of what happens to Revan post KotoR 1 & 2?

I'm extremely interested in what Revan does post KotoR, but I've also heard that the continuation/writing of Revan's story in SWTOR is borderline fanfic and not good.

Should I just watch a recap vid to learn about the rest/ending of his story?

Just finished KotoR 2 for the first time. My (unsolicited) thoughts. [SPOILERS]

For clarity, I have also completed KotoR 1 last week. I went female lightside Guardian for my KotoR 2 playthrough.

Here are some thoughts in no particular order:

- Kreia is absolutely the star of the show and clearly had the most time devoted to creating her character.

- The game almost feels like a side-quel in terms of narrative. Yes, the story is about The Exile, but literally everywhere you go people are just talking about Revan and Malak.

- I *love* the fact that they added the different lightsaber combat forms as an actual meaningful mechanic. Was super cool!

- Combat encounters in general felt MUCH easier in this game than in KotoR 1. Also, it feels like I was given wayyyyy more force abilities than I was in KotoR 1.

- Peragus and Telos were boring and felt a little bit of a slog.

- Nar Shaddah was cool, but became tedious and went on too long imo.

- Dxun was enjoyable

- Onderon was...kinda just average, I suppose.

- Korriban and Dantooine were really interesting to me to see those places in a post-Jedi Civil War setting / after their destruction.

- Nihilus was....weird. I've seen him and read about him a bit before in random YouTube lists and "top 10 ooga booga scary bois" stuff. With that stuff in mind, and with how they treated him in the game, I thought he was going to be much more intimidating. He was...underwhelming. You barely see much of him, and when you finally confront him on The Ravager it's not a particularly difficult fight. When you beat him it's kinda just an unceremonious send off for someone who was treated as being so scary up until that point.

- Sion was a cool concept imo. I kinda wish they made him a "Nemesis" type character where he hunts you across the worlds a la Resident Evil 3 and you're never strong enough to fight him so you have to just keep running/surviving until the end. I know that kind of happens on Korriban, but still. Would've felt more compelling to me personally.

- Traya, and by extension all the stuff on Malachor *including the Trayus academy) felt kinda hamstrung on. Traya herself, okay, fine. It was kinda inevitable. But the stuff regarding going to Malachor and the Trayus academy existing just....ugh. Felt kinda lazy tbh. Felt like they were rushed so instead of being able to take them time to flesh out something more interesting, they just said "fk it, make her the big bad, give her her own school/academy, etc". Also after you defeat her she answers all these questions you ask, then you say "you can rest now" she kinda just aaaHhhHhh falls over and dies and you fly off. Pretty rushed and kinda not a satisfying ending.

- After playing KotoR 1 and 2, this really REALLY feels like it was intended to be a trilogy where the third game shows where Revan goes in the unknown regions, what the REAL Sith threat was that Kreia/Traya kept alluding to, etc.

- I love that they brought back some of the cast from the first game. T3 was cool, HK is still the goat, Mandalore being revealed to be Canderous was pretty neat.

- I like Atton at first. A lot more than I liked Carth. Then I learned about Atton having essentially been a Sith death squad leader, and it really soured me on him. I know it's supposed to be a rug pull and give him more depth, but I would've preferred if he had just stayed as the charismatic scoundrel type of archetype.

- Visas was a cool concept. I just wish they gave her more dialogue and let us learn a bit more about her.

- Mira was my favorite new companion.

- Hanharr was pretty annoying tbh. Maybe he's more enjoyable as a character if you go dark side.

- Goto was just....meh.

- Bao Dur was a cool concept. I used him as a frontline tank. I also like the idea of his arm having special uses.

I still have some questions that I dont think were answered in game and I don't know if there are any canonical/legit answers to them other than just conjecture or educated guesses. I javent played SWTOR yet, nor have I read the Revan novel yet. Maybe some of my questions will be answered in those.

I know that SWTOR is supposed to contain some info about Revan post KotoR, but I really wish they had just given him another full dedicated game instead of relegating whatever lore/story to a MMO expansion.

All in all I really enjoyed both games a LOT. Im looking forward to doing dark side runs to see how much they differ.

These are the three posters that came with the physical copy of TDSR. Excuse the random items holding the corners down. The posters came rolled in a tube.

Has there ever been a physical lore book or art book with lore in it released for KotoR1 or 2?

I would love to get my hands on it and dive in if it's not absurdly expensive (if it even exists).

If it doesn't exist, what is the next closest thing in physical format?

Looking to learn Saber 1v1s. A few questions:

So I play on Kyber and there are 1v1 Saber only 24/7 servers. I kinda wanna join, but I'm also still very new to the game and don't know any tech and I'm likely pretty ass at dueling.

Do I just join and jump in and get smoked by sweats?

Is there any kind of unspoken etiquette that I should know?

Are there like..."noob" areas to learn to 1v1?

I mostly like Dagan, Rey, Anakin, Dooku, and Maul. Idk if this matters at all.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Does Meetra Surik canonically use a single lightsaber or two one handed sabers?

I don't know much about her at all, but I wanna do a "canon" playthrough for my first playthrough of KotoR 2.

If anyone knows the colors, that would be dope as well.

Is she supposed to be more of a duelist, or more of a force user during fights? Or does she blend them a la Niman ?

Just finished Kotor1 for the first time. Here are my random thoughts. [SPOILERS]

So, no particular order, just going to spout out whatever is on my mind:

  1. Jolee is my fkin GOAT. That man saved my ass SO many times. His story is also pretty interesting to learn about and he seems like a deeper character to dissect than someone like Canderous.

  2. Force stasis is BUSTED and if it didn't exist I would've had a MASSIVELY difficult time with specific sections. Notably the part where you are going back to The One after speaking with The Elders and you get jumped by a shitton of rakatan + like 4 rancor.

  3. HK47 actually had me laughing out loud with its dialogue. I normally barely chuckle.

  4. Mission was cool and I think I may have used her more often, but she just felt so squishy and I just couldn't justify her replacing Jolee / HK47 / Bastilla

  5. Zaalbar is the homie. I just wish he had a little more character development.

  6. Canderous is just...annoying. Didn't use him at all.

  7. Carth was a lot more abrasive for a lot longer than I thought he might be. I get WHY he's the way he is due to his story, but idk. I would've definitely used him more often if he didn't have such a stand off-ish attitude.

  8. Bastila <3

  9. The section where bastila decided to 1v1 Malak and sacrifice herself so we could have time to get the last star map made my heart drop. I was not a fan and it genuinely upset me a bit.

  10. The last fight with Malak was a big difficulty spike for me. I didn't have saberthrow, disable Droid, or any of the dark side abilities, so I couldn't disable his jedi medkits. I had to savescum the fight, and I couldn't even fight him straight up. He just did too much damage for me to survive, even with stims, force valor, force Aura, and force resistance. Idk if I did something horrible wrong with my build (probably), but I was only able to beat him by hitting pause every time he went to a new jedi tank. I would hit pause, heal myself with a shitton of items, buff up, then save before the next "round" started again. And even then. I ran out of healing items during the last "round". I ended up having to use adhesive grenades, and just pelt him him grenades, thermal detonators, plasma grenades, etc until he had about 30% life left. Then I was able to stand my ground and take him out. It was rough.

  11. Swoop racing was fun

Is the kotor 2 restored content mod important enough that I should mod my Switch to be able to play it?

Or is it not worth the risk of screwing up my console / getting banned from Nintendo online?

I've never modded a Switch before so I have no idea how difficult it is or if it's worth the risk.

For reference, this would be my first time playing through kotor 2, and it would be blind.

About Blood Omen 2

So I've completed BO1, SR1, SR2, and Defiance. I've heard, for years, that BO2 is kinda subpar comparatively.

That said....goodness. I was not ready. The dialogue, especially Kain's, is just so awful compared to the rest of the serious. He acts like a 15 year old edgelord and it's just so bad. It's like going from a filet mignon from a Michelin rated restaurant and comparing it to some well done flank steak.

Is this game really necessary to complete for Story purposes? Like...does it STRONGLY affect the entire story from the other 4 games? Or is it just kinda a side story that explains a little bit between BO1 and SR1?

Like....do I really need to endure this writing in order to have a better understanding? Or does it change little, relatively speaking?

I would happily buy a Blood Omen collection remaster...but just to show support for LoK/SR in general.

New to this game. Am I doing something wrong?

So...are the combat encounters supposed to be like 20 uruks vs me? Is it normal to be fighting massive amounts of enemies at a time? Or can this be played in a fashion similar to something like Dishonored where I can stealth work my way through the encampment and pick off enemies one by one?

I feel like every time I try to do that I end up pulling like 15 enemies and it just feels like I'm doing something wrong here, lol

Is there a reason I almost never see youtubers playing in first person?

Specifically with non-hero classes. It just seems like they are basically always in 3rd person view. Is there a specific benefit to it besides being able to see around corners? Or is it likely just preference? Are there any benefits to first person?

So I'm probably missing something here but....[spoilers]

At the end of Defiance they are, chronologically, at the exact moment that BO1 Kain makes his choice and causes the pillars to break.

In the game, at this time, the Hylden Lord had just taken over Janos and flew off to who knows where.

So does this mean that the hylden lord is off doing whatever at the end of BO1? If so, why isn't there any sign of the Hylden Lord, Janos, or the Hylden in general during Soul Reaver 1 (or referenced at all during the thousand years between BO1 and SR1)? I would assume that Hylden Janos isn't just flying around screwing off for 1000+ years while BO1/SR1 Kain builds his empire?

For clarity, I know that Mortanius was possessed by a Hylden/Demon at the end of BO1. That still doesn't account for Hylden Janos though. Hylden Janos takes over just AFTER Kain makes his decision (aka after Kain defeats the possessed Mortanius), which would mean that the Hylden Lord / Hylden Janos is still flying around somewhere.

Second question:

Shouldn't there be a paradox going on at the end of Defiance in terms of the Heart Of Darkness? Because it's in two places at once. 1) In BO1 Kain and 2) in Janos/Hylden Janos.

I'm sure I'm just missing/not understanding something, but this shi just seems riddled with loose ends lol

It's some nonspecific time between 1997 and 2007. You don't have responsibilities tomorrow and you've got pizza, a crt, and good vibes. What video game are you playing until the wee hours?

Has there been any word/update on a physical edition of the Defiance remaster?

I would love to have a Deluxe version similar to the Soul Reaver Remaster for my Switch
