[Routine Help] Why is my skin feeling leathery and droopy?

I've been getting back into tretinoin and trying a new heavier moisturiser (Aveeno Calm and Restore Rehydrating Night Cream), but my facial skin especially underneath and above my eyes is feeling kind of leathery? And drooping more than usual. My skin feels like it's stinging and dry, which is confusing because I specifically chose this one because its meant to be super moisturising, but not sure if it's the Tretinoin too? I previously used the Neutrogena Hydro gel moisturiser and loved the way my skin felt on that, but wanted something more hydrating for fine lines. I do get cc's on my cheeks and forehead so want to avoid products that cause that too (I stopped niaminicide recently, and Paula's bha didn't do much for me)

Current morning routine

  • LRP Anti imperfection serum

  • Aveeno moisturiser

  • Hamilton tinted sunscreen

Night

  • Cerave salicylic acid cleanser

  • Benzac for acne or TO glycolic acid

  • LRP serum again

  • Tretinoin

  • Aveeno moisturiser

My main concerns are hormonal acne and hyperpigmentation caused by that, and I'm planning on adding in The Ordinary copper peptides & Rosewater spray at night after the cleanser for fine lines and moisture.

Any recommendations on improving my routine? TIA 😊😊

What's caused this damage to my glass sliding door, and how to fix?

Hello,

Does anyone know what could have caused this pattern of damage to my double-glazed sliding door? Could the unscratched blotches be caused by stickers, and the scratches an abrasive to remove them?

Also could I fix the scratches with a product, or the only option is to replace the affected glass door? Thanks 😊🙌🏻

Recommendations for a simple espresso machine for a newbie?

Hi! So my little nespresso capsule machine is leaking, and I'm feeling a bit guilty about the non-reusable coffee pods too.

I'd like a machine that has grinding built in and a milk frother - not sure I'm up for a milk steamer nozzle just yet. Accepted that I'll need to tamp the ground beans, but an easy to clean option would be great.

Anyone have any recommendations? TIA ☺️

Which non-stick frypan alternative for fat free cooking?

Looking to invest in a non-toxic alternative to non-stick pans, would love any recommendations on ceramic pans! Or if you've found they just don't work and a little fat on a stainless steel pan is the only way.

TIA!

What were some of the most important lessons you learnt as a new manager?

It's my second week and I'd love some advice to add to my list. So far it's:

  • Communication and setting expectations provides clarity and understanding

  • Praise in public, give feedback in private

  • Emails are for formally documenting a task/decision - use with caution. If it's a smaller task, question or ask, use a call or chat/messenger as a preference to avoid putting people on the defensive.

  • Never reply to an email in anger - always sleep on it.

  • Set up regular catch-ups with other managers/team leads that you work with/across from, as a general forum to discuss crossover tasks between your teams (and foster communication & a better relationship).

  • Sometimes people just want to be heard and validated, don't always try to fix their problems for them. Ask if there's anything they think could help, and assist if needed. Also helps them in developing problem solving skills.

Another one I was thinking of trying was to have a fortnightly team meeting and ask each person to think of one win/accomplishment of theirs, and one thing they'd like to work on/improve - idea is to foster a growth mindset and also share wins too. Is this a good idea?

TIA

How do I keep my begonia rex happy?

I have a new rex on a plant shelf under a Barina grow light, the humidity is around 74%.

I have killed 4 other ones via powdery mildew, so I'd appreciate any tips you have on if my setup could be improved (does it really need to be in a mini greenhouse?). TIA!

Best way to keep your home/apartment warm in winter?

I moved to Melbourne, and dispute having double glazed sliding glass doors it's bloody cold inside!

Does anyone have any tips/deals they can share on how to keep their place warm?

I signed up for the 3 hour free Ovo energy deal in summer, but given its coldest at night, it's not really working just blasting the heated aircon (split system) during those hours only when WFH. I didn't replace my electric heater when it broke as that was so expensive to run! Would a gas heater be any cheaper?

I also have a heated blanket in all rooms + warm clothes, but those don't take away the chill in the air 🥶

Edit: Amazing tips, thanks so much everyone! Especially re putting up heavy curtains and the energy testing kit from the library to see where heat is dissipating - will let you know my results!! 🤓

This wall usually gets full sun as it's north facing, and in the middle row I planted some snapdragons and stock from Bunnings seedlings that are not doing much :( Should I deadhead them to get them to rebloom? The disacus in the front row are also not flowering, mainly because my cat bit the flowers off (hence the tiny pot of cat grass in front 😆). Maybe could replace that with alyssum.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what other flowers I can put in that will bloom until spring? Maybe daisies in the last pick? Also I had some lobelia in a hanging basket that burnt unfortunately. Second pic is AI showing what could be in summer only :(

I have this pot getting indirect light from a large north-facing window (get the sun in Aus), and water her quite deeply once a week as it dries out pretty fast. Unfortunately she was one of my first plants and I planted her directly into the cache pot 😮‍💨

She just put out this yellow/brown leaf near the base of the plant, but the top leaves are fine! Also some other small yellow leaves at the bottom too. Is this a sign of over watering maybe? Keen to understand! TIA!

My Philodendron Birkin has developed these yellow spots on the lower leaves since I moved her to a powder room with a dedicated grow light about 2 weeks ago.

Is this a sign of too much light, or something else? Overwatering maybe? I water her once a week from the top directly into the nursery pot, then tip out remaining water in the cache pot after ~5 mins. Not much humidity or airflow in here either. TIA!
