Dance floor near Pickering for boomers 🙃

my husband and I are two boomers (50s) looking for a safe and mellow place to go to preferably on the weekends - Friday or Saturday - we’re not retired yet 😉

we used to go to Drums Flats in Ajax but they shut down 😭

Considering Brooklin… how are the people there…?

For work purposes I’m considering moving to Brooklin but I hear wild, crazy rumours that the locals are something else…

Lay the truth in me…

I don’t understand my husband 😞

Christian males appreciated!!

in the early years of our marriage I let my husband know I like affection and conversation

I don’t think he was completely oblivious to this as he told me I’m too clingy when I’d snuggle him on the couch or want to hold his hand in public.

he also wanted dead silence in the car, for safety reasons, he told me he likes silence overall and would often let me know with groans and complains he didn’t like when we talked either about something fluffy (light) or heavy

after years, I learned how to adapt

i now rarely ask for affection, and I’ve learned when we’re together, in public or private, no conversation

now….he’s starting to complain…

he says with a frown on his face I don’t kiss him goodnight anymore…

he is also complaining we don’t communicate

if he’s watching tv and I’m reading my book he says I ignore him …

im utterly confused

when I’ve tried to ask him what exa he wants he chalks it up to what he calls my “mental Illness” - I take Prozac for depression and anxiety but I’m way beyond high functioning (and some)

im utterly confused .. but I hate to say it … I’m also too exhausted to try to figure him out

😑

I learned how to self soothe…and it’s a bit scary!!

I’m just curious if anyone else reached this stage in life…

when I was dealing with emotions (good or bad) I was desperate to share them with someone

when I wanted affection I was desperate to have it with someone

when I wanted to experience something I was desperate to have someone to share it with

but after years of being silent and having no touch (except massage, etc) I learned how to self soothe

I learned how to be “ok” barely talking to people (I’m always the listener)

I learned how to be ok experiencing something (ex movie, new cuisine) all by myself

I learned how to rely on physical touch from outside sources like a massage, or hair care appointment

I can sit for hours by mmyself reading my books, or doing other hobbies

can anyone relate? it’s kind of scary 😱

40 is not enough for me…anyone relate?

my doctor likes to bump up my anti depressants super slow

currently I’m on 40mg and I don’t feel like it’s as effective as a higher dose would be

can anyone relate…?

“Active” rest days ex: BodyBalance

This is more of a fitness question:

If I’m on a rest day, what are the benefits of doing something (IMO) a bit low key and more like stretching for example: BodyBalance?

Ever have some hostility when you defend yourself?

I don’t mean specifically you defend your looks but just have these moments when someone is treating you unfairly and you call them on it?

Wpuld love to hear your experience and story
