I think I like this background but I'm not sure

Sorry for all the photography posts. Im trying and wanna have good listing photos. I had this little resin palette laying around and I thought it might work and I think it does? But I dont know, it just seems so dark. White background doesnt really work for my lighter sets so I'm struggling.

Took advantage of the sun and took my listing photos

Sunlight is definitely the way to go! I ordered nicer display cards so the ugly plain cards will be going away soon.

This might be my favorite set I've ever made

Even tho the French tip nearly took me out and the blooming gel flower is crooked on one nail but I'm keeping this particular set for myself so its fine. Design is available in other shapes as well! $28

Builder Gel Over Custom Press Ons?

I'm in the process of starting up a custom press on business. I want the nails to be as high quality as possible with the budget I have.

Ive read that people put a thin layer of builder gel over the nails so they feel sturdy. That sounds good in theory but I did a simple set lastnight and it took FOREVER! Like 3 hours!

Do I really need to add the builder gel? I know what type of glue a person uses matters as well. When I was wearing cheap drugstore press ons, they lasted for a week with no breaking and they were flimsy so I feel like not adding builder gel would be ok?

What's everyone's thoughts on this subject?

Im the girl who needed help with lighting

Much much better I think? White background is after and black background is before.

u/Capable_Box_8785 — 17 days ago

Ok so I know these dont fit well but hear me out

The clear tips fit perfectly before I added the gel and then im guessing the gel made them wider because of the layers.

Process:

-base coat

-3 layers of colors (they may have been too thick)

-topcoat

It could be the nail shape itself that makes them look rough. Im wanting to this into a business so I need to get these.

(Ps- I know theyre too big so I dont need critism on that. I need help making them not wide.)

Photography help

I need some help getting the nails to photograph perfectly. I think my background is fine (black velvet fabric) but Im not sure about the nails themselves. Do I photograph the nails on nail stands? On a resin palette? Help a girl out. Thanks!

Soft, simple wearable sets for the everyday person!

I know not everyone is into super detailed and extravagant nails so I'm here to help those who want sets for daily life.

Here are some sample sets of what I can make for you. Interested in other colors, designs, etc, let me know!

Prices are on the last few slides along with a FAQ sheet. You can dm me here or on my ig (prettypolishedphalanges).

Lavender chrome nails are child size btw

Do wearable/simple nails sell?

Ive been wanting to get into selling press ons for awhile now but Im finding it difficult to use a different medium (gel) on a new canvas (press ons). I only use regular polish on myself and do art on myself so Im having issues getting art to look perfect.

So my question for seasoned press on businesses: do simple nails sell? (Solid colors, minimal art, French, etc). Those are things I know I can do and do well. I just wanna know before I waste my time making samples.

I also know it takes awhile to build up clientele/customers so there's that too.

Attaching photos of my own work for tax and examples.

We love a chaotic mix-matched set!

Finished this set earlier today! I love the first three naila together but was unsure about the chrome nail and then once I finished the pinky, I loved the whole set!

And yes, the swirl is meant to be uneven.

Obsessed with Maximalist and mix matched art

Currently in the process of making a set for a family member and I thought I'd share my progress with the class. These dont match at all but that's what I love about them. They're chaotic in the best way.

Polish: Canni and Double Rhythm gels. Gems and beads are from Shein

Need some opinions

EDIT Thank you everyone for the opinions and advice. I guess had nail blindness 😂 Gonna start tapering in the sides before application!

So i got some new nail tips (right) and theyre more narrow than I usually wear (left) and they feel off but I dont think they look bad? I feel like the new tips look more natural.

Sidenote- yes, I know my cuticle area is inflamed. Its scarring from decades of picking at it.

Fresh mani!

There's something so satisfying about a fresh Gel X mani!

Gel X with hard gel overlay and polish w/art using regular polish. Gems are from Shein or Amazon. I can't remember.

Made these for my MIL

I offered to do a set of nails for my MIL for her vacation and she loves them so much!

I definitely need to work on my chrome application and practice more with doing art with gels but overall, im pleased with them because my MIL loves them.

Definitely impressed with the seashell nails. Frenchies make me nervous and I dont have enough experience with 3d gel but those nails turned out great imo.

Ps- I promise I can do nail art! Its definitely a whole other world painting press ons and using gel.

How to not get the polish to look streaky?

Currently in the midst of making this cute set and I hate how streaky the blue is!

I use Canni gels so it could be the quality but also user error. Im wanting to start selling more but I cannot sell something looking like that.

This isn't the first time this has happened but its the first time its noticeable because I didnt do art on top.

Help a girl out plz. And thank you!

Im now on the hunt for short or extra short oval nail tips. Everything im seeing is either round or not oval enough. I dont really wanna have to round them out more because its hard for me to get all the nails to look uniform.

I have some from Lucky Fairy and theyre fine but theyre not quite oval enough. I know Apres is the best and I agree (i have a box of extra short square and theyre perfect). I got them from Amazon which was really convenient. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know!

Photo is Lucky Fairy oval/round in extra short.
