This is the 2005 Moser BVI "Bastard V" that went viral on ShopGoodwill. We won the auction and restored it.
This guitar made a stir among collectors when it appeared on ShopGoodwill auction a few weeks ago after being donated to a Goodwill in Texas.
We started by speaking to Neal Moser and having him authenticate the guitar, and confirm it is one of the first 75 released at the 2005 NAMM show.
Through its life, it has had the pickups upgraded to a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates in the neck and a Bill Lawrence U.S.A. L500XL in the bridge.
These are straight wired in a "Dimebag configuration" without any coil split or phase shift.
When we received the guitar, it was filthy, with a very dry fretboard, severely tarnished frets (to the point of nearly black) and had a short in the output jack and first volume pot. Otherwise, it was overall in decent condition.
We sorted the electronics, replaced the cheap pickup rings someone had installed backward on it, cut, bugged, and polished the finish, did a full setup with neck adjustment, and replaced the rusting D'Ardario strings with a set of DR Black beauties. This guitar is beautiful and plays flawlessly, now.
I thought I would share this rare and obscure... and notorious.. guitar with everyone to see it.
The big question that remains is how something like this ends up in a Goodwill donation, and especially one that was obviously setup with these upgrades and loved at one point.
It's pink. It's a 1989..it's a USA.. how much more 80s could it be?

The cool Peavey PXD I got today
Truly just wanting to show this interesting guitar we pulled out of a pawn shop since most people aren't aware of them. This is a PXD Void 1. Peavey tried entering the Metal Guitar space in 2008 and failed but the guitar is pretty damn decent

B. C. Rich Platinum Series "Red Snakeskin" Bass - Restored
youtube.comAwesome Red Snakeskin Bass We Are Currently Restoring
We got this bass from a ShopGoodwill auction, and believe it to likely be a 1989 or 1990 Class Axe Platinum series.
It has taken a lot of time hand buffing and some chip touch up to get it back to as close to original as possible, but I think it's starting to look great.
The very rare SKB-2B Up and Playing
Spent the last 2 days working on this, didn't want to refinish it and remove anymore originality from it, but got it as clean and player ready as possible. Nice pickups, restored the Steinberger bridge, setup, 500k Bournes pots, new 3-say switch.. she plays great
