What makes a story feels bland?

Have you guys ever encountered stories that just feel boring even though they really shouldn't? Stories that in spite of have amazing plot structure and character arcs, they just feel meh when reading. Why does this happen?

Do you guys think mechanic is worse than engineer?

I hear this sentiment a lot within the community. After playing the game and looking threw the wiki, it doesn't look like he was really nerfed much beyond a few weapon rebalances. Does engineer really rely on the wrangler and jag that much?

IWTL how to stand listening to people who disrespect you

You guys know how some people will tell you to do something you need to do (wether is be because it is a genuinely good idea or it's from someone like a boss) but they tell you in the worst way possible. Like they think just because they have a point they think it justifies being an ass. And if you call them out for being unnecessarily rude or unprofessional, they ignore what you actually said and try to paint it like you just don't want to listen to them period.

Knowing that I need to do it doesn't really stop me from feeling terrible about listening to them, as I feel like I am supporting type of toxic behavior and just not having any self respect. Is there anything I can do to change this?

Is anyone else starting to get bumbed out by the programming community?

I am now constantly seeing people get judged for what types of programming languages they use, how much free time they spend coding, why they got in to programming, etc. People constantly get compared to others and have it used to measure their self worth. I miss how the community was when I first start, back then most people were super supportive and just helped people be the best programmers they can be

How to move on without closure?

What if someone or a group of people hurt you in the past. You left the situation but still can't really move on. Especially knowing that the person/group never got punished for what they did and are continuing what they did to you with other people but you can't do anything about it because of their status. How would you move on and find peace from it?

Is it worth giving a link to my GitHub when job hunting?

Hear most people say that a bad GitHub profile is worse than no GitHub profile when job hunting. But the projects I am interested in or help solve a problem in my life are really simple. And I don't really know what kind of projects other people would find interesting since I am not in their head. So I am starting to wonder if it is worth it

How to write resume in a way that makes interviewer curious?

I asked about what the advice "Think about what kind of questions your resume makes the interviewer to ask" means in the post below

https://www.reddit.com/r/jobs/comments/1tfmv2w/what_does_the_advice_think_about_what_kind_of/

I did get a useful comments but I didn't get any advice on how to write my resume in a way that makes the interviewer ask questions. Was hoping some people in this sub could offer some advice.

DAE feel like self help and just advice in general on the internet is making you more insecure?

A lot of the advice is framed in a way like there is something fundamentally wrong with you if you don't take this advice or the advice doesn't work for you. They usually constantly imply that your self worth is defined by your ability to achieve what they are trying to get you to achieve. In general they tend to make me feel more anxious and inadequate rather rather then motivated. It's made worse by the fact that most of the advice tends to be so generalized that it's just not helpful to most people.

I have heard a lot of people say it is the viewer's/reader's responsibility to not get demotivated, but to me that's really weird. There is nothing stopping them from giving advice in a more uplifting way. Not getting mentally effected by this type of talk WHILE listening and following what they tell you to do requires level of mental fortitude that I do not believe people should be expected to have. And that's ignoring the fact that most of this advice is targeted towards mentally ill people.

Sorry the post got a bit ranty at the end. I am just starting to wonder if it's worth engaging with this kind of stuff even if there is some genuinely helpful advice.

From what I know, all plants need the same types of nutrients and resources. Shouldn't that mean there should only be one species of plant in a given ecosystem that has driven all others to extinction? How do different species avoid competition with each other?
