Why doesn’t this game get more attention?

I genuinely think insurgency is one of the best milsim/arcade hybrids ever and I love it. But the player count is pretty low and has been pretty much for the entirety of the game and I don’t get it, I’d love a new insurgency with new an improved graphics, engine etc, but doubt it’ll happen. I think with the right marketing a new insurgency would do substantial compared to the last ones. This type of game is finally getting the broader attention and not the niche community anymore. There are so many popular milsims, I could see a new insurgency having a solid 15/25k consistently on steam alone if marketed and done right with multiple modes and maps on release etc.

Witcher 3 opinion so far. (4 hours in)

This game is incredible so far, i’ve beat the main mission in white orchard and i’m currently doing side quest and exploring before moving on. The quest missing in action was such an amazing side quest, even as short as it is walking that battlefield aftermath really puts in perspective what the black ones have done. I like everything about this game and I think for being 11 years old the graphics on my pc look pretty amazing. Facial animations are pretty dated, but it doesn’t really affect the game imo. My literal only gripe would be that the combat is pretty clunky and it often feels like i’m fighting geralts animations more than the actual enemy lol, the combat is my least fav i’ve dealt with for awhile. However the game is dated and the story and atmosphere etc by far make up for that, you play witcher for the story I feel anyway. My extremely pre mature review that has no meaning yet would be a solid 8/10.

work hours as apprentice.

I’ve had a few buddies in the ibew who i’ve been talking with about joining. some have told me they work 6-7 days a week with not much free time, others have told me they almost strictly work mon-fri with weekends free time. i’m curious what it’s like on average? i’m not afraid to work some OT especially for extra money and to get through my apprenticeship hours faster, but I also don’t wanna join and lose my life and slave away with almost no free time.

What type of work will I likely be doing? mostly for Local 481, but others can answer.

I’m curious to know more about what type of work is done? for example are you doing pole and tower work often and working on heavy heights on high volt electric? or is ir more outlet, conduit indoor and some outdoor smaller heights like ladders scaffolding etc? I’m mostly curious in the daily life and what type of work and hours to expect.

Will there ever be another insurgency made/will insurgency ever blow up again?

Do you guys think that we’ll see another insurgency in upcoming years? Also, with insurgency still having enough players to always find a match it’s still relatively low with only 1-2k players concurrent on average. It kinda blows my mind this game never gained more traction. It’s pretty unique with a cool mix of milsim/arcade.

First game impression.

During my first game I got 2 kills in what felt like 5 hours of torture. I had not even the slightest grasp on what was happening. My teammates hated me. I was confused, I had no idea what was going on. Think I need to watch some more videos. I imagine what I felt would be equivalent of putting an elderly person through an intense shroom visual video on a vr headset while on molly.

Note taking methods?

I’m currently doing online lectures and taking notes over the videos which I can pause and I find myself transcribing nearly everything that is said and it feels like doing so I fail to retain the information, I struggle understanding what I should and shouldn’t write down and what the act key points are. At the end my notes like overwhelming and I feel I didn’t retain much information. Any advice on better ways to take notes would help me so much. Thank you.

Entering into the world of IT, advice, knowledge etc is welcomed!

I have begun doing some self studying and figuring out where I wanna go in the world of IT. I have no prior experience and have worked in house renovations for around 3 years i’m currently 23. I have a wife and although at times I enjoy my job, the inconsistent pay and random weeks of not being home are things I don’t wanna do forever as well as not wanting to do physical work my whole life. Today I began watching some of professor messers videos and sorta figure out what certifications I wanna chase and goals I’d like to set. I understand some basic knowledge of computers, i’ve had one for awhile and learned basic stuff. I think I wanna stick towards the IT/Networking field for awhile, although I thought cybersecurity sounds really interesting it’s not a goal for the near or even medium future due to the difficulty to break in plus i the me having jo college degree it’s a long shot right now. I wanna start with breaking into the IT field and moving towards a career involved in networking. Any advice, knowledge, tips, what certs to go after etc. Thank you.

Day in the life/ beginner help.

I’m interested in Cybersecurity and have no current experience in IT or Cyber. I want to know where to begin, how to find out what role I want to go after. I’d prefer a role that is typically earlier days so I can spend time with my wife. I’m just struggling on where to begin and how to best get into this field.

Skin give aways/ earned skins?

I’m newer to the game and haven’t bought anything, the prices are pretty ridiculous when it’s like a minimum of $10 for one weapon skin and bundles are crazy pricey. Do they ever do give aways or skins you can unlock? Otherwise I don’t think i’ll ever buy one.

Vandal or Phantom?

I’m a newer player, only around 18 hours played. And everyone mostly chooses Vandal or Phantom, which do you prefer and why? I notice most people choose Vandal, but a good amount of people like the Phantom more. I saw that the Vandal is one tap headshot all ranges and Phantom is only 0-15 meters, so maybe it’s just people who prefer long range vs close range fights? Or maps that are closer or further ranged?

Quickest way to learn agents?

obviously just playing, but do you guys recommend a faster way to learn the agents besides just playing regular unranked?

Balancing sens

I recently started playing and my sensitivity is .125 1600 dpi
My aim has gotten drastically better and I too fragged a couple times, obviously it wasn’t ranked and my teamates weren’t trying as hard as me. My dilemma is that at .125 my aim feels pretty good, but doing a 180/360 feels kinda slow and flicks are kinda slow, I use a artisan mousepad and have a decent amount of space but not a ton if I do a 180 it’s practically a full side swipe from end to end. Some people have told me in this game u don’t need to do 360’s and others have said you absolutely need to. Any advice ?

Looking for squad as a newbie.

I made a post recently as I just got the game. I played fortnite comp and accumulated some earnings and have experience in competitive scenes. I switched to val to have a competitive ranked game that I can take a little less serious and play less/takes less grinding. I won’t be that good immediately obviously so if anyone is willing to play with me and deal with that lmk, or of course fellow new players. NA EAST.

I’m thinking about upgrading my pc I bought from micro center around 2 years ago, my specs : AMD Ryzen 7 7700 3.8GHz Processor; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB GDDR6; 32GB DDR5-
6000 RAM; 1TB Solid State Drive

What would you recommend I upgrade? Also does microcenter do upgrades for you? i’ve never done it before, if they charge too much I might try.
My budget is around $400-$800

Edit: Also would a trade in be smart? trade my pc in to get a nicer one on a cheaper deal? Does Microcenter do that?

  1. I think gunplay, movement is incredible, especially for a beta.

  2. I love being able to drag downed teammates like in squad, as medic you no longer have to bandage a teammate after reviving which is kinda neat.

  3. The lighting needs some work it’s too orange and too bright, it needs a slightly more darker less tinted look imo.

  4. The tunnels are awesome. However it’s like a fast travel system and I think it’s cool, but i’d think it would be better if you had to enter the tunnel run to a certain point then fast travel the rest of the way so it’s not so fast and immediate. Also I think the American side should have a tunnel rat class that you can crawl in and blow up the system disconnecting certain parts.

  5. Id love to see traps, I think that’s something that should really be added.

  6. Optimization was okay, for beta it was fine. Hopefully it improves a good amount before release and I expect it will.

  7. Helicopters don’t seem useful enough.

  8. The sound definitely needs a lot of tweaking, you hear an op or tunnel then get close and the sound goes away until you’re in it. Sometimes gunshots are accurate other times someone 5 meters away sounds 50 meters away.

  9. It feels decently faster than HLL 1 in a way I didn’t love, I think it’s great for a beta and amazing overall. But i’d like it to slow down a bit I felt it to be too arcady at times but it was overall pretty good.

With the right tweaks I definitely think it’ll be their best game yet. I expect to like it more than HLL 1 as long as they fix the small issues and adjust some things. Also boats are cool, but felt somewhat useless as well. 8.1/10 with potential to be well over 9/10.
