I have a weird shaped side strip that I can't get sprinkler coverage without wasting lot of water by putting oversized sprinkler heads that spray onto that area and onto the sidewalk. Its around 5 ft by 3 ft that browns every year. Thinking of removing that section of lawn, put mulch and add some shrubs or a small tree. This area gets full sun. Given that there isn't lot of room for roots to grow, looking for a low maintenance shrub or a small tree. Any recommendations on what to look for. Since this is front of the house, would like something that has visual appeal. Thank you for your suggestions.

I am a rising senior and I got all A+ or A so far and realized that I don't have a single B in any class. Am I cooked, under the "Dumb First" initiative that the new administration is implementing at T20 schools?. For ex: our graduated valedictorian only got admitted to a community college, while the kid that never showed up to classes and got mostly Bs is now deciding between Harvard and Yale. Should I ask my teachers to grade me down to a B+ to ensure that I can at least get in to shit tier Ivies like Cornell or UPenn?
