Displayed LEGO Minifigures: Should They Be Valued as New or Used?

Hi everyone,

I have a fairly large LEGO minifigure collection, and I'm currently trying to catalog everything and estimate its value.

I have a question regarding the condition of my minifigures. Most of them were either taken directly from brand new sets or purchased as new on BrickLink. After that, they were placed on display stands in a cabinet and have never been played with. They've only been handled carefully when setting them up and are in what I would consider mint condition.

When estimating their value using BrickLink prices, should I compare them to the New price or the Used price?

I've often read in forums that a minifigure is only considered new if it's still sealed in its original plastic bag. On the other hand, the figures themselves are in exactly the same condition as a brand new one, there's no wear, scratches, cracks, or discoloration.

The problem is that if I value them as used, some of them are worth only about half as much compared to the new price.

So I'm curious, how do you personally see displayed minifigures? Would you value them as new or used, and why?

Are displayed LEGO minifigures still considered "New" for valuation?

Hi everyone,

I have a pretty large LEGO minifigure collection, and I'd like to catalog everything and estimate its current value.

I have a question about the condition, though. Many of my minifigures were either taken directly from freshly opened sets or bought as new on BrickLink. Since then, I've only displayed them on stands in a cabinet. They've never been played with, and they've been handled very little. I've read people arguing for that or that online?

When estimating the value based on BrickLink prices, would you compare them to the New price or the Used price?

I'm curious how the community generally sees displayed minifigures like this. Thanks!

Looking for Honest Feedback on My Underwater Diving Video

Hi everyone,

I've been diving for quite a few years now, and I'd really like to start creating more polished underwater videos. Since it's just a hobby and not something I do professionally, I'm filming with a DJI Osmo Action 5.

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback on my latest video from our trip to Lanzarote. I'm looking for both criticism and praise, anything that can help me improve my filming and editing skills.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Need new fins - just help understanding things

Hey guys, my last fins broke after my recent diving vacation. I need new ones. The last ones were pretty long Aqualung fines, but I want to try out some shorter fins. I dive a lot in lakes and 1-2 times a year in the ocean. I mostly do the frog kick. But I never had to buy new fines, so I have no idea what to get or what's good. Sadly testing new fins out is difficult where I live.

First Time in Lanzarote – A Few Questions About Vegan Food

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are flying to Lanzarote on Friday for our first diving trip there. We'll be staying in Puerto del Carmen and I have a few questions I'd love to get some local advice on. 😊

  • My wife is vegan and we'll be staying in a self-catering apartment. Are vegan spreads, pasta sauces, and other vegan grocery products easy to find in local supermarkets?
  • Are there any must-do activities or places to visit on land that you would highly recommend while we're there?

Thanks a lot in advance for any tips and recommendations! 🙂

Shearwater Peregrine TX Bluetooth Issues – Anyone Else Having Connection Problems?

Hi everyone,

About 1.5 months ago I bought a Shearwater Peregrine TX and today I completed my 20th dive with it. Overall, I'm very happy with the computer, except for one thing: the Bluetooth connectivity.

My phone (Samsung Galaxy A55) doesn't detect the Peregrine TX at all, no matter what I try. On the other hand, it connected fairly well to my friends' iPhones, and it also worked with my wife's OnePlus phone.

Today I wanted to log my latest dives using my wife's phone, but now I can't get the computer to connect at all. The Shearwater Cloud app keeps showing "Error 262" (although Google suggests that error is related to dive depth, which makes this even more confusing).

So my question to other Peregrine TX users:

  • Do you sometimes experience Bluetooth connection issues depending on the phone model?
  • Have you ever had situations where the connection suddenly stopped working altogether?
  • Does anyone know what Error 262 actually means in this context?

I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences or any possible fixes.

Thanks!

Best Camera for Whale & Shark Photography on a Budget? TG-6/7 or Something Else?

Hi everyone,

I’d like to get more into underwater photography. Above water, photography is already part of my professional work, but underwater I’ve mainly focused on video so far.

At the moment, I use a DJI Osmo Action 5 for underwater video, and honestly, it does everything I need in that department. What I’m missing is a dedicated solution for still photography.

I shoot with a Canon EOS R6 Mark II on land, but an underwater housing for that setup is simply beyond my budget. Because of that, I’ve been considering picking up an Olympus TG-6 or TG-7.

The thing is: I’m not really a macro photographer. Most of my diving trips revolve around larger subjects such as whales, sharks, dolphins, manta rays, and other pelagic animals. I actually owned a TG-6 years ago, but at the time I had very little experience with photography and editing. Unfortunately, I no longer have any of the RAW files, so I can’t go back and evaluate the image quality from a more experienced perspective.

My main use cases would be:

  • Instagram and social media
  • Printing photos for personal use
  • Potentially selling some images through Adobe Stock

Since I’m a graphic designer and comfortable with Lightroom/Photoshop, I’m happy to spend time editing RAW files if the camera provides enough quality to work with.

Would you still recommend a TG-6/TG-7 for this type of photography, or is there another camera/setup in a similar price range that I should consider?

I’d really appreciate hearing from divers who photograph larger marine life rather than macro subjects.

Thanks!

My Ultimate Marvel Collection & Custom Display

After years of collecting, building, and modifying, I’ve finally reached the point where I’m ready to share my LEGO collection with the world.

Every figure/character appears only once (aside from a few alternate versions). I always chose my personal favorite version of each character and, whenever LEGO didn’t provide a version that felt complete enough, I customized them myself, usually with fitting legs, but also with additional parts and details to make them look more accurate and unique.

Many characters also include small fun gimmicks or accessories that match their personality or story.

The arrangement of the figures was also carefully planned: the heroes are placed in the front, the villains in the back, the VIPs in the center, and the less important or simply less “cool” characters toward the outer sections.

I also designed and built the entire grandstand/display completely by myself.

I’ve done the same thing for DC as well, though that collection is posted in the LEGO DC forum.

If anyone would like close-up pictures of a specific figure or idea, feel free to ask!

I hope you like the build, I’d really appreciate any feedback, criticism, or praise!

Are we really thinking Daredevil is MCU?

Hey guys, I read all the time if Daredvil maybe appear in the new Spider-Man movie or why didn't Peter help defeating Fisk. I know Murdock appeard on the last Spidy movie and She Hulk, but right now, Born Again has nothing to do with the MCU. Why are we all acting like it is? Frank Castle appears on the new Spidey movie but in my opinion, Born Again doesn't play in the MCU, it's just another Universe/Timeframe whatever
