hey! i'm super new to sourdough and last week i started my first starter. it's notw been 8 days and the starter will have some bubbles, but it hasn't risen significantly. a lot of what i've read sayd it should rise to like twice its size. i've been feeding every 24 hrs by discarding half of the starter and adding 60g AP and 60g warm water. it also isn't super warm in my house or where i live which i worry may be affecting it. but even if i place it in a warmer area for a while or soak the jar in warm water, i see no rising.

what should i do? should I try feeding it more often? keeping it warming? i'm super new to this so anything helps!
