Language skills

Does anyone else find that the profiles on some freelancers state fluent in English, lead to being completely false when communicating with them?

It just wastes so much time!

Just wondering, can the freelancers on UW just declare themselves to be fluent?

IndexNow? Any good?

Bing pushes this, but really, there's no free dinners so why would they want you to do it?

Barebones WP?

As a lifelong HTML, PHP, CSS and JS person, I do find it a big struggle working with WP. The constant updates, constant fees for the plugins, etc, plus the access to the actual underlying code isn't easy!

For a website with just a few items for sale, what would be the actual barebones lean way of doing it please?

Image linked from CSS ?

Why do some people have images in their website linked to from their CSS, rather than just referencing the image once in their HTML?

How's your sleep?

As most of us here will know, great sleep is one of the big cornerstones to living longer.

So, do any of you get a really great, refreshing nights sleep?

There's 4 things that have helped me over about 6 years to get great sleep every night, waking up fully refreshed.

  1. Always waking at the same time in the morning, regardless of the time going to bed.

  2. Eye mask - cheaper than fitting blackout blinds.

  3. Sleep better diffusers and / or sleep better pillow mists from https://www.YourSleepBetterStore.com/ - over about 6 years I have used both products, after being recommended to them by a family member and these two products have both been genuinely brilliant.

  4. NOTHING to eat or drink within two hours of going to bed.

If you do those 4 points you should have some really great sleep.

Hope this helps.

Are there any smart looking smart watches?

Have any of you come across a great smart watch that still registered your sleep, heart metrics etc, but also looked really great as well? Without all the black plastic.

Any way to stop this?

When someones trying to pay for one of our products, they see a big issue somehow origination from their bank to ask them:
Could this be a scam? T
The warning has loads of questions and looks very scary to the customer.

The website does have the HTTPS at the beginning of the URL.

I get that there needs to be safeguards, but this would stop a lot of legit business for a lot of companies.

Is there any way around this at all?

Any help appreciated.

If you're clicking on a (buy) button and it's taking about 5 seconds to get to the checkout page, where / how can I find out where the precise issue is please?

Is it still working?

Have been using SH for at least about 4 years and have loved it. However, for the last couple of days, it isn't working at all! I have WIFI connection, put the phone close enough to the speaker that has the music, but nothing!

Just checking if it's just mine that's gone wrong?

Payment input not on checkout page

They now have an issue that there's no payment input details on their checkout page, and it just gives the error message seen here? I have checked and he does have Stripe enabled.

It just says:

Sorry, it seems that there are no available payment methods for your state. Please contact us if you require assistance or wish to make alternate arrangements.

Any help appreciated.

Wordpress.org

A very good friend has a website linked to wordpress.org and he did change the default admin page name as you're supposed to, but now he can't remember the page - it was about 4 years ago. How would he find out what the admin page is please? Yep, he knows he should have made a proper note of it somewhere.

He does have access to all of the files on the server.

Which multi tool ?

Going on my yearly 50 mile cycle soon, as usual, I'll be carrying a spare inner tube, small pump and tyre levers, but I would also like to bring a multi tool this time, can anyone recommend one from personal experience, say sub £20?

Since changing the inner tube on the front wheel, the caliper brake on it is slightly rubbing on the rim now (when the brake isn't applied at all), what is the easiest way to fix please?

From personal experience only, can any of you recommend a phone holder that sits on the handlebars, holds the phone securely, where the phone just clips in and out very simply and quickly please?
