They were both on sale simultaneously, both in perfect condition for their age and couldn’t resist picking up both of them. Their main job would be getting restored (well, 110) and sitting next to each other looking pretty on a shelf with occasional use and comical age gap between them.

I own both low and standard angle SW block planes for daily use, so I really don’t have a need for them, but never owned a plane from 19th century and red cap one looks just too darn cute to resist especially in this mint condition.

Question:

Can anyone date 102 more accurately using box and yellow logo? Recent ones are plastic wrapped with black and/or white logos. My best guess would be around 90s but haven’t seen many Stanley planes with Yellow logos from recent era… also looks too new for 70s.

Apparently wireless charging 18V batteries were a thing 11 years ago!

Scrolling eBay lead to yet another discovery! What the hell is this and who thought it was a good idea? It’s basically a new battery ecosystem because regular batteries won’t charge using this frankenmonster and you had to get special batteries for that! :D

Interesting promo video from Bosch: https://youtu.be/FGAv-QHCC2w

It’s currently being auctioned on eBay in case anyone is into collecting weird but interesting power tools. Just search “Bosch WC18CHF-102DDS” to find it.

Someone’s selling new GKF18V-25PL14 kit with “best offer” option on eBay for cheap

I have an alert set on eBay for new Bosch 18V tools and I was definitely going to get it if I didn’t already had one (paid $380 for mine :/ ).

It comes with 4Ah pro core battery, charger and plunge base which alone is $100+ separately. Oh, and it comes with L-BOXX with foam inserts!

Someone should offer $250!

Is this just GM “quality” or is my gear selector broken? Never owned GM made car before.

Just to clarify, gear selection works just fine, problem is that it feels too wobbly.

Not an actual loss, but definitely this sub worthy dumb decision and something that lives rent free in my head last few months.

From my limited knowledge and “deep” investigation, Sargent No. 5 is 414 Type 5 (1919-1942) and Stanley Bailey No. 5 is Type 19 (1948-1961). If you can see any clues that will date them better or more accurately, please let me know.

I would love to hear about condition and price. It was listed for higher price but very friendly and nice seller accepted my offer for $58 both. I know non of them are any special collector items, but I think I got a good deal based on condition and price, am I wrong?

Any restoration tips and tricks that might be helpful for first timer, are very welcome as well.
