Job location presumption

When applying for jobs, do you presume it is in person if it’s not indicated that it's hybrid or remote?

What is artificial flavors in Fancy Feast?

I've had cats for 35 years and have fed my 15 yo littermates Fancy Feast since they were 4 mo old. I recently inherited a 5 mo old kitten and bought cases of Fancy Feast kitten formula wet food without reading the ingredients. I surely don't like the description Google gives of what artificial flavors means😳. How little do they expect to give us for almost a dollar a can?

Affording cat food

I don't know how everyone else is affording it, but I'm squeezed feeding mine Purina and Fancy Feast! I have a senior dog, 2 senior cats and now a 5 mo kitten that found me that I couldn't turn my back on. I'd love to get him a playmate, but the cost of pet food makes it feel unreachable☹️. It's sad because there's so many cats that need homes, but the cost is crazy. I'm up to 6 cans of food and some kibble every day just for the cats.

Why can't I see the number of applicants after a job is saved??

Or am I doing something wrong? I can see how many people applied before I save a job, but as soon as I save it, that information disappears.

Using for senior cat?

Does anybody run theirs during the day for their chili fur baby? My poor senior is dealing with allergies and mowed off a lot of hair. He's always cold☹️. I wonder how much it would cost and how much it will shorten the life span of the unit.

Quit on Day 4, but have this urge for closure

I had posted this about a month ago.

"After working and retiring after 35 years of service, I got my first remote job. I found out a few days before my start date that my training was going to be in person. Not at all what I agreed to, but I thought ok I can do this for a short time. Little did I realize was that I wouldn't have breathing room in my day to jot down notes and there were no resources available to refer to if needed. I'm ok with hands on experience, but the idea of never having a few minutes between calls working in their system to take notes blew my mind. Ironically, the trainer had a huge desk manual that she referred to while on calls! Yet, I was too slow and dumb to need to take notes. My words, not hers. She literally pointed to her head and said "it's all up here". Yeah it would be for me too once I know the job. There were no breaks either. By the time lunch rolled around, I had to get out of that space to keep my sanity. I walked out Thursday morning. What upsets me the most is that 1) I was being trained alongside a 21 yo who remembers everything they come across and she was ecstatic to be in-person and 2) the manager had told us on Tuesday that it takes time for things to click, etc. He was a super chill laid back guy that I really wanted to work for. He wanted us to get working remotely as soon as possible. I just feel like I didn't have a shot being in competition with the other person. If I had been at home, I would have used my own after work time to make notes as I felt necessary to help me learn best".

Having so much time to think about this, I have this real urge to reach out to the manager either just for closure or a potential second chance if one would come up. Is this ridiculous to do? I know he may not respond at all and I'd be ok with that. Yes I feel the urge to give my side of the story, but I feel that may not really matter to him, though again I really don't know. I know it's not professional to bash the trainer or say anything negative. I'd just say something like how it was out of character for me to walk out that way and if a future opportunity ever comes up, I'd be grateful if you would consider me again.

Job posting no hours or pay listed

Why does a company do this for a shift work position? To me it seems it is wasting everybody’s time. People are applying, possibly going through the interview process to only find out that the hours aren’t going to work and the pay is ridiculously low. I actually called and left a message today. Inquiring about the specific work hours. I highly doubt that I’ll hear back because they will find it annoying, but I find it annoying withholding this information.

Chicken and fish free wet food

Needed for a finicky 15 yo cat used to eating Fancy Feast. Does this exist anywhere?

After applying, reach out to recruiter or not?

I applied to a position on LinkedIn and the recruiter is listed as the poster. Is it appropriate to reach out to them after I submit the application or should I wait until after the job posting closes? I submitted the application Saturday night and the job closes Thursday.

How do you pour muriatic acid?

Inground saltwater pool...My husband pours it directly into the pool water in front of the jets. Google says you should fill a 5 gallon bucket of pool water, pour in the acid then pour it into the pool. Is this just for safety reasons or does it negatively impact the pool by pouring it in directly?

Delivered food not cold

I had this food delivered today. I got eight meals stacked on top of each other with two ice packs in it. It sat out in the warm weather for about four hours. Why do they not allow you to select the delivery time? I don’t know if this food is safe to eat or not.

What are your feelings about age and old experience?

I am 57, retired after 35 years of service at a job, and seeking employment again for something that I always truly enjoyed doing..auto claims. My experience is nearly 20 years old. When applying for these types of positions, obviously I am listing my most relevant experience at the top of my résumé, but the end date is 2008. Does this automatically disqualify me in nearly every role or do some of you actually look at the experience and know this is a seasoned employee that also knows how to adapt to new technologies? Do I stand a chance? I know that my past experience makes me a hireable candidate as I got hired pretty quickly for a remote customer service position. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a good fit for me because of their training style. The trainer expected me to literally memorize everything and I had no time to take any notes because of in person training there was no downtime🙈.

Duct Cleaning Question

Will a tech have to get to vents in each room in order to do duct cleaning? I realize that they will use some sort of a sweep to go through the ductwork. They will be arriving early in the morning to replace the entire geothermal unit. I just want to make sure that everybody is up and out of the rooms if necessary.

Quit on 4th day of CSR training couldn't take notes and no resources wth

Login start time

I will be starting my first remote position on Monday after decades of working in the office. my question is do you login at your start time and get all of your programs up and running, or do you start taking calls at your start time?

Crazy difference

The image without the spot was edited. I could only dream of ridding of this. It's amazing the difference between the two. I look like I have mud splattered on my face. I'm 57 and love the sun, no doubt. I honestly am not bothered by the small freckles and spots, but this uugghh. I've had it for about 10 years before I had any spots on my face. I haven't been to the dermatologist yet. I've tried a few over the counter products that do nothing. Musely is one I'm curious about, but not sure because of the age and size of this. I've heard about Moxie and wonder about that too.

Any HVAC CSR here?

Just curious if there are any other CSR‘s here that work for HVAC. I'd like to know what your pros and cons are of your job. I will be starting my first remote job soon with a local, but large HVAC company. I had my interview in person, which was nice to be able to meet my new manager in person. He seemed really nice and laid back. I think we definitely clicked. He said they like for their CSR to be natural when talking to customers, no scripts. They even have an overflow answering service, which I thought was really cool. I don't get the impression they are micromanaging🤞🏼.

Headset with glasses for call center

I'm looking at 2 different ones, but open to any other suggestions. Not sure yet if employer will allow wireless, but🤞🏼.

  1. Shokz OpenComm2 UC. They look nice and comfortable, but I wonder if they hold up and have good reception. How easy is it to mute?

https://a.co/d/05jUtcZJ

2)Yealink WH64 DECT mono or dual.
I do like the mute just by lifting the mic. These appear to have superior connection for a distance. https://a.co/d/02uIoDcO

I have the wired Poly 5220 and they're super comfy for awhile, just not sure if they will hold up for 8 hours a day with glasses.
