What happened?!

Only In Cambridge! Frak I swear. 😡😡😡!

I stopped at Pioneer gas station on Hespeler Rd. to grab some pop and some snacks for movie night at home. As I was pulling up, I noticed cops watching a little young chick who was smoking a blunt while pumping her gas. I saw her and thought, this girl is stupid, crazy, or both, especially with the police standing RIGHT there! I minded the business that pays me, not my circus, not my monkeys, and went inside and got my pop and chips. As I was paying for my stuff I heard someone screaming!! Like I’m talkin' a violent death scream! I looked outside and I saw that this girl’s arm was on fire!! She was swinging her arm, running around acting a damn fool!! When I got outside, the police had the girl on the ground and they were putting the fire out!! Then they put handcuffs on her and threw her in the squad car.. I was thinking, arrested? Shouldn’t she be in an ambulance, not a police car?? My curiosity got the best of me, so I asked the police what they were arresting her for...He looked at me, dead serious, and said, "WAVING A FIRE ARM”!!🔥

Hope you're having a great weekend!!

Malton and the Arrow

Now that it's completed, I finally had a chance to see it. The AVRO Arrow Monument in Malton Ontario. While it is not full scale, it looks great, and where it belongs with the CF-100 Canuck. A great piece of Canadian aviation technology and history.

Dolly, I'm sorry...

I wrote a letter to Dolly from someone in her past...

Dearest Dolly, I’m writing this to the quiet air, hoping that wherever sweet souls go, these words find you resting in the peace you gave so freely to the rest of us. When the news broke, a silence fell over the world that felt heavier than anything I have ever known. People everywhere are weeping for the bright light, the boundless generosity, and the pure, gentle heart that never once turned away someone in need. But sitting here tonight, looking at old photographs with your records spinning soft in the background, my grief carries a weight of its own—one carved out of a lifetime of quiet regret. I need to say what I should have found the courage to tell you decades ago. I am so deeply sorry. Taking him from you wasn't a triumph; it was the reckless, selfish act of a woman too blind to realize that the most precious thing in that room wasn't the man between us, but the friendship we shared. You looked at me back then and saw beauty, but all I can see now is the grace you possessed—a grace I didn't deserve. You could have hated me, yet you immortalized my name with that haunting, tender plea, singing with a vulnerability that broke everyone's heart, including my own. Through all the years that followed, even from a distance, I never stopped admiring you. I listened to every song, marveling at how you could take ordinary sorrow and weave it into mountain gold. You gave your life away in melodies, books for children, and open-armed kindness to strangers who had nothing left to hold onto. You had the rarest kind of spirit—fierce in your talent, yet humble enough to touch the earth with gentleness. I know an apology sent to heaven cannot rewrite the past, but I hope your soul knows how much you were cherished, even by the one who hurt you most. The world feels dimmer without your smile, Dolly, but heaven must be ringing with the sweetest harmonies tonight. With all my love and everlasting sorrow, Jolene

Cabbage Patch Craze!

When Cabbage Patch Kids launched nationwide by Coleco in 1983, they sparked a massive holiday shopping frenzy known as the "Cabbage Patch Riots." Desperate parents mobbed department store aisles, trampled crowds, fought over remaining stock, and occasionally faced store staff wielding baseball bats to restore order.

Did you end up getting a Cabbage Patch Kid? What did you name it, and did you get the new birth certificate?

Resistance

Has anyone used resistance bands to get started back after a hiatus? I had a shoulder injury that laid me out for a year, but I want to get back into it, slowly. Any thoughts?

The time has come...

Never thought I'd have to say it, but it's time sell my Mustang. The older I get, the more difficult it's becoming to get in and out of it. Sad day with some great memories. Anyone else starting to feel this way?

Retirement

55 next year, retirement time. Thinking about moving back home to New Waterford. I haven't been there since 2000. Much changed? Housing costs? Or should I move somewhere else. Thanks!

I'm so old!!

Today starts my 54th trip around the sun. Where did all the time go?! Somedays I still feel like I'm in the 80s-90s, others I feel like I'm in my 80s-90s. Lol. I will admit that being a GenX is great. 70s, 80s, 90s were the best years to live through. The music, movies, TV shows, it was all great! Tell me what your best memories were back then.
