My girlfriend and I want to build a business together. She has 3–4 years of e-commerce operations experience, I’m learning tech/AI, What would you build or start?

I'm in Pakistan and trying to figure out what kind of business my girlfriend and I could realistically start.

I'm not an AI automation expert or anything like that. I'm still learning programming/software/AI and I've built a few small things, but I'm basically at the stage where I'm trying to get good enough to actually build useful stuff.

My girlfriend has been working in e-commerce operations for around 3–4 years, mostly around COD orders and courier problems.

Her day-to-day is basically tracking shipments across courier portals, checking why deliveries failed, calling customers, fixing address issues, coordinating with courier offices, updating Excel/WhatsApp groups, following up on reattempts, dealing with returns, etc.

So she knows the ugly operational side of e-commerce much better than I do.

She doesn't run the businesses herself though. She isn't doing ads, product selection, finance, store strategy, etc. She's basically the person making sure orders don't get stuck and disappear. I'm interested in e-commerce too, and I can handle the technical/marketing/sales side if I learn what I need to learn. We can both put around 3–4 hours a day into something, and I personally have a lot more time available right now.

My first thought was something around e-commerce operations, maybe eventually using software/automation to remove some of the repetitive work.

But I'm deliberately trying not to start with "AI agency" or "AI automation" because I don't want to build some bullshit around a buzzword.

Maybe there's a completely non-AI business here. Maybe there's a service opportunity. Maybe COD operations are already a terrible market. I genuinely don't know.

For people who've actually run e-commerce businesses or built something in this space: if you had these two people and their current skills, what would you investigate first?

Especially interested in what problems Pakistani e-commerce businesses are actually willing to pay someone to solve.

I'd rather spend the next month manually solving a real problem for 2–3 businesses than spend six months building an "AI platform" nobody wants.

KFC Bahawalpur humbled me tonight 😔

Went to KFC Bahawalpur with full excitement around 10:15 PM. Checked Google Maps before leaving and even asked Gemini both of which confidently suggested it was open till 11 PM.

Reached there only to be told that dine in was already closed. Walked up hoping I could convince them to let us in but the entrance was literally locked with a wire lock 😭

Ended up doing drive thru instead and eating it back home. It wasn't the same. We were genuinely looking forward to sitting there.

If dine in closes earlier than the hours shown online shouldn't Google Maps be updated? or did I just get unlucky tonight?

P.s: Anyways have any of you experienced something similar 😔

IUB for Pharm D

Hello, I want to know as I saw a post of someone talking about IUB cyber security etc but how actually is the Pharm D from the IUB is it actually worth it or what I mean if you actually attend every class give full focus and overall because in the end you have to get abroad that's the goal actually

In what cases you will say I should not go or whatever or where to go and in what cases will you say actually I should be going there

And what if I take a gap year for the MBBS and etc.

I have three solid paths and picking any one feels like closing a door I can't reopen.

TL;DR: Deciding between MBBS (after a gap year), Pharm D, or Software Engineering (IUB now, or NUST after a gap year). I like both medicine and tech for real reasons, not just money or prestige. I want people to find flaws in my reasoning, not just tell me what to pick.

I'm 18, pre med, in Pakistan, and I've spent months going back and forth on this. At this point I think I'm analyzing instead of deciding, so please tear into my logic instead of just handing me an answer.

Here's what's actually on the table:

• Pharm D at IUB this year

• Software Engineering at IUB this year

• A gap year, then either MDCAT for MBBS or trying for NUST's Software Engineering program

If I go the medicine route, my family can support me through a private medical college if I don't get into a public one, so that door stays open either way.

It's not just a medicine vs tech question. I actually enjoy both. On the medicine side I like human biology, neuroscience, psychology, diagnosing disease, nutrition, human performance. On the tech side I want to get good at AI, build software products, do research, build in public through content, and eventually start companies.

With software engineering I don't think the degree itself matters much. What I actually want is the peer group and the opportunities around it, which is why NUST pulls at me more than IUB. But SE is mostly a skill you build yourself, so maybe I'm putting too much weight on which school I go to.

My dad's argument is that you can learn AI on your own, but you can't learn medicine on your own. Medicine gives stability, status, and a real fallback if I try to start something and it doesn't work.

I worry about the opposite problem that MBBS eats so much time and energy that I never actually get good at AI or build anything real. But if I skip medicine, I might be giving up something respected and stable that's hard to walk back into later.

Then there's the AI question itself. Some people say get in now while it's wide open. Others say it'll be crowded in five to ten years and the real value will be in people who combine AI with deep domain knowledge, like medicine. I don't know which of these is true, and I don't think anyone fully does.

I'm not just chasing salary here. I want to build things I'm proud of and not end up regretting the choice.

A few things I actually want pushback on:

Am I overrating AI as a field right now?

Am I underrating medicine?

Am I putting too much weight on university reputation for software engineering?

Does combining medicine and AI actually work in practice, or does it just sound good on paper?

If you were in my position, what would you optimize for?

Would love to hear from people in medicine, software, or AI, or anyone who's made a call like this themselves.

Reached Islamabad after 2 days in Naran. What would you do for one memorable day?

We're a family from Bahawalpur and just got back from spending 2 days in Naran. We're currently in Rawalpindi and deciding whether to spend the day in Islamabad or head towards Nathia Gali.

We've already visited Faisal Mosque, Pakistan Monument, Daman-e-Koh, Lake View Park, and Centaurus on previous trips, so we're looking for something different.

We have around 5–7 adults and a few teenagers. Museums aren't really our thing. We'd rather have a relaxed day with good food, nice views, or a unique experience that's actually worth the time.

Some people have suggested Monal, F-6/F-7, Kohsar Market, or even driving to Nathia Gali.

If you were in our position, what would you do?

Looking for recommendations that locals would genuinely choose, not just the usual tourist checklist.

Update #1, My little brother almost backed out of the zipline... until this happened.

Update #1

First Reddit update.

No side quests completed yet (those start tomorrow), but something unexpected happened.

My 8 year old brother really wanted to do the zipline but was too scared to go alone.

So we got strapped in together.

Right before the launch he kept saying,

"Main aap ke saath jaunga."

Halfway through, the fear disappeared.

The moment we landed, he couldn't stop smiling.

His first words were:

"Bhaiya, bohat maza aaya tha mujhe laga tha main neeche gir jaunga."

(He was not opening his hands until I forced him to do it by giving him confidence to assure him he is safe and he was so happy during that)

He's been telling everyone about it since.

Today is Lalazar (going now) and Rafting likely in the noon hoping we get less rush then yesterday

Time to start crossing Reddit quests off the list.

Reddit, I need your help making this the most memorable trip of my life.

I'm 19M and currently on my way to Pakistan's northern areas with family (Naran and wherever the road takes us).

I had a stupid idea.

Instead of just sightseeing, I want to turn this entire trip into one giant Reddit side quest.

Here's how it works:

Give me your best side quests.

Funny, wholesome, social, photography, food, random... anything.

Safe, legal, respectful to people and nature.

Keep it realistic since I'm with my family but will be having the time in between to be solo

Here's the part I'm committing to:

• I'll complete the best ones.

• I'll post photo/video proof.

• I'll post updates during the trip.

Every completed quest gets credit to the Redditor who suggested it.

Bonus Rule: If your quest gets 100+ upvotes and it's realistically possible, it automatically becomes one of my priorities.

By the end of the trip, I want this comment section to have completely changed how I experienced Northern Pakistan.

Let's see what you've got.

First day back in the gym after years of on and off home workouts.

First day back in the gym after a long break.

I used to do home workouts on and off in my early teens, joined a gym earlier before just to get experience and to understand how everything works but left out completely for almost a year likely and now getting started again.

This is my current physique. My goal is to build a lean, athletic body while getting stronger and staying consistent.

I'd appreciate honest feedback. Based on how I look now, what should I prioritize over the next 3–6 months?

I'll post another update after a week, I know it sounds delusional but let's see what happens.

What’s something Islamabad has (or does better) that Lahore just doesn’t apart from the obvious mountains?

Let’s skip the Margalla Hills, the hiking trails, and the “clean & green” thing for a second. I’m talking about the small, everyday stuff you only truly appreciate once you’ve spent time in both cities.

It can be actually anything like a certain vibe, a type of food, how people drive, a random quiet spot, an unspoken rule, a local shop, the way chai tastes, even the light at a certain time of day.

What’s your "this just hits different in Islamabad” thing that a Lahori wouldn’t get?

Anyone else here go to Fareed Park in the morning or evening?

I went today around 6 AM. I took this photo at the gate. I know there are people who go in the evening too. If you go there at any time, just saying hi in the comments is enough. Maybe we cross paths one day. (I blurred the bike plates for privacy.)
