The launcher screen for 26.2 (aka 1.23) kinda looks like a Mario Party cover art.

Compare it to Mario Party game cover art. You got all the characters (aka all the default skins) all in different places, doing different things, like Steve, Alex, Makena, and Sunny in the focus, with Efe and Zuri in the background, you got various creatures from the game around, even the way the environment is built looks like a Mario Party board.

What will become of the game now that it's ceased development?

The game isn't "shut down" yet. If it's still up and working, that means you can still play it, even if the devs aren't working on it anymore, so it's not shut down.

But the thing I'm most worried about is what will happen to the game as time goes on. I've been on the Roblox platform for like 15 years now, and I know that when you don't update your games, they start to fall apart. And I still want to play this game despite this, but I'm just worried about the game slowly deteriorating as time goes on.

Artists/illustrators wanted!

(Disclaimer: Everything about this post is for a fan-made story, and has no impact on the official game.)
(I selected the "Sharing Others' Art" flair because I've attached some of my illustrators' artwork, and there's no flair for writing.)

As I've made a few posts about, I'm writing a story based on Dandy's World, and I'm always looking for artists to make illustrations for the story!
You see, it's pretty common for books to have a seperate person making the artwork from the person writing the book, and I want to do this as a way of showcasing some more peoples' art.

Pictured above are art from various illustrators I've found over time. They are in order-
MoonSprout64 - u/peandie
Kikikonette - u/kikikonette
AelsAellie - u/aelsaellie
MajesticRock
NamelesWanderer
TheMixzero6 (they're my illustrator for my South Park story, but I had them do art for something different before I started writing this one.)

For my South Park story I only had one illustrator, but for this one I think I'd like to have more artists as a way of getting their art some recognition.

Let me know if you'd be interested in working with me! But try to match the official artstyle as best you can. It doesn't have to be perfect, but I want to try to match the game's style and the Roblox style as much as possible.

IMPORTANT NOTE - When originally making this post I got a messages from five different people who I'm betting have never played Dandy's World. So, if you want to work with me, you have to have played it, you have to know the game you're working with.

Another potential scammer.

This person commented on my Dandy's World fan story wanting to make art for it. This happened once on Archive of our Own as well. You know, the type of people who are coming to you, and asking YOU to commission THEM to make art of your story.

Looking at this person's Instagram, their art is pretty spot-on, they do Hazbin Hotel comics. But I have a suspicious that this person is hacked, because I doubt a *real* artist would be doing this.

I messaged them on Instagram thinking their Wattpad account was hacked or something, and I was being messaged by the same person. And I have to say: Someone asking you to commission them, trying to charge absurd prices (in this case it was $200-$230), and continously pestering you to pay them before doing anything. I told them that I would not send any payment until I see line art, yet they refused. That definitely sounds like the behavior of a scammer to me, the person who messaged me on Ao3 a few months back acted the same way.

But I'd like your guys' input on this whole thing.

Brusha and Rodger talking to each other, in my story, since they didn't talk in the game.

(Can we add a writing flair by the way?)

For context: This is chapter 6. In the previous chapter, the characters encountered twisted Rodger, where normal Rodger witnessed his counterpart's ability to fire light beams, thus this chapter started with Rodger trying to do that himself.

I hope I got Brusha's character right. She's really irritable, blunt and brutally honest.

Dandy's Mercs - Pissy Jarataby!

Since they added Swimmy Barnaby, I TF2-dubbed it!

(Quality was sacrificed to send this through Reddit)

Chapter 5 of my fan story is now complete!

This one took a little longer than usual, which me be the course for the rest of the chapters going forth, but it's all done now! What happens in chapter 5? Well, I'll just say, all of you Sprout fans may get a kick out of this! ;)

Here is the Google doc link- It will be posted on Wattpad after I go back through chapters 1-4 to try to make some edits to them. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1t7zP4pQNLCJB3_v7Es7ILASt6sEZyLd7EMQxgmLoBOc/edit?usp=drivesdk

To anyone curious about the art here (I only included it because pictures draw attention better than just text), it was made by one of my illustrators, MajesticRock, the scene in chapter 3 where Clona has some morning tea with Teagan. (I chose the self-made art because writing counts as art and that's what this post is for, I didn't make the art shown here.)

I'd also like to give a huge shoutout to u/AelsAellie who was not only my first illustrator, but also she's been an excellent creative consultant overall, always my go-to whenever I needed someone's input or opinion on details and ideas. Huge thanks to her, go check out her other art that she made!

Final area didn't open in Quake 1?

I should mention I was playing the Quake 1 port on Steam. Not the remaster, but the original 1996 version that came with it.

On my first full playthrough of the base game, I particularly remember beating the fourth episode, yet for some reason the floor to ahem the Shub monster didn't open. Despite several videos showing that it opens when you complete all the episodes, in my case it just didn't, and I had to noclip to finish the game.

Has anyone else had this happen before?

BTD6 is now older than BTD5 was when 6 came out in 2018.

Just let this sink in for a second.

Where is Charlie's video where he talked about a Reddit mod who accused an artist of submitting AI-generated art?

It was talked about in the power tripping mod videos, but I can't seem to find the actual video.

What was it like for a TFC player when TF2 was coming out?

Since Team Fortress Classic was 1999 and Team Fortress 2 was 2007, I'm kind of curious on what the hype was like back in 2006-2007 for someone anticipating the release of TF2 who was a fan of TFC.

I want your guys' opinions on some plot devices.

(There really should be a flair for writing by the way)

DISCLAIMER: All information here is for a fan story, it has no impact on the official game.

For context, I'm writing a story about Dandy's World, and basically the toons and the PoV character are researching the twisteds.

I thought of an idea where the PoV character ponders how the twisteds actually feel, and Rodger offered an explanation based on his own experience.

Rodger tells them that he was once a test subject in some ichor experiments by one of the owners. He said that he had some parts of his body injected with extra ichor to see how it would react. (This was way before the ichor incident.) Rodger describes his hand for example with extra ichor as not being inherently painful, but he did feel some swelling. But the more frightening part was that while he could still feel his hand, but he couldn't move it. In fact... he almost felt his hand moving on its own a little. This leads him to believe that the ichor ceases some kind of control over a toon's body if there's too much of it, but it's not deathly hazardous... as long as the excess ichor doesn't reach a toon's nervous system. I mainly did this because I don't want the twisteds to be in constant pain, so I tried to make up an explanation for them not being.

Though later I thought, maybe it shouldn't be Rodger, but maybe it should be a toon who would be more confused in something like this, like Shelly for instance, and just kept quiet about it all this time. When speaking with one of my illustrators, u/aelsaellie (who made the artwork attached to this post), she suggested that these experiments were just to test what the toons can or cannot withstand, and the toon experimented on was told "Don't tell this to anyone until we fix it, okay?", and well, it never was fixed given the ichor incident happen, thus the toon never said anything, and likely even forgot about it by the events of this fan story. (Which is 22 years after Gardenview was closed)

This is all stuff I thought and that we discussed last night, but I'd like to get the opinions of the people on this Subreddit to see what I could change or add to make it more interesting. What do you guys think?

And by the way, please support the artists' work :)

Would I be able to share videos I've made on Apple II software?

So far I've only done two, one on Castle Wolfenstein and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein, but I will be doing more on the future. I just wanted to get permission before sharing those, and sharing new videos when I make them.

When do you think the Dandy's World arcade games would have come out?

Now, you need to think about it as an in-universe thing. It was very common even in the 90s for game companies to make games based on TV shows and movies, and Dandy's World, being a 90s cartoon, would be no exception.

When do you guys think these actual games would have come out in arcades? Of course, the early 90s was when 16-bit games were starting to pop off, but 8-bit games were still in use. But by the late 90s I don't think they were doing so great.

We also need to take into account when the characters were actually introduced into the show. In Cosmo's case, Gardenview Bake-Off would have likely come out in 1993 or 1994 at *least*, since Cosmo was the first "side" character in 1992, according to Bobette. We don't know when Gigi or Finn were introduced.

It makes you wonder what kinds of in-universe video games would have been made after the Dandy's World show, like what would have been released on PlayStation 1 or Nintendo 64, or on PlayStation 2 and Nintendo 64. Anyone else fascinated by that idea? No? Just me? Am I really the only retro gamer in this subreddit?

Emulator that can run .po files?

I tried to play Catacomb for the Apple IIGS on AppleWin, but it couldn't run it. It was a .po file, which it couldn't run. Anyone know an emulator that can run .po files? (Google says MAME might be able to, but I only use that for Arcade games)

Softdisk cursor moving on its own?

I can't share a video, only this screenshot.

When viewing Softdisk Magazette issues, there's a cursor that you can control with the numpad. But when I have it open, the cursor moves ever so slightly down and right on its own when I'm not touching the keyboard. Does it always do that by itself, or is there something causing it do that?

Do you get this when trying to load a state using AppleWin?

It loads states for other games like Beyond Castle Wolfenstein just fine, but when I tried to load a state for Sylvan Idyll, it showed this. And it almost breaks the whole emulator, where it resets it, ejects the disks, and then I can't insert disks again, unless I load a state for another game.

Now, my theory is that it has something to do with Sylvan Idyll being in disk slot 2, where you need to have it inserted into the second slot for it to load.

I don't think it makes sense for Sprout to call Vee "outdated-tech", because keep in mind, Gardenview was shut down in 2002 according to the newspapers, and I think CRT televisions were still being actively used in the early 2000s. Even if the events of Dandy's World took place in a more modern time, because they've been locked inside Gardenview for so long, they likely wouldn't know much about newer technology like flat-screen TVs, or even smartphones.

But that's just my take on it. If you disagree, that's what comments are for.
