It doesn't make sense that religion's God doesn't communicate with us anymore.

I'm wondering if anyone else thinks the same about this. In major religions such as Christianity and Islam, it doesn't make sense that God would communicate with us thousands of years ago and then never again.

Let's take Christianity, for example. For God to come down in human form and then empty himself of his knowledge and qualities as God seems like such a waste. God could have come down and told us all the details of the afterlife, what happens to us, and the answers to all our existential questions, but he doesn't do that.

Why would God not come down again? Why did he appear two thousand years ago and then never again for guidance?

If God is able to interact with us, why (in the case of Islam) did he last interact with humans over a thousand years ago? Why not come down again now? Why communicate through specific revelations to individuals rather than speaking to many people at once?

It seems like such a waste. The God described in major religions—talking about punishment and misogynistic, violent things amd wantimg to control our lives—does not seem like a God I would want to worship in the first place. This form of communication is inferior and doesn't make sense for the creator of our worlds. You can do mental gymnastics and say that God wants this to be a test of our faith, but it doesn't make sense that God wouldn't communicate with us ever again. It makes more sense to me that God has not actually communicated with us in the physical world.

Recommendations for theists/spiritual people against religious people.

I have noticed that there isn't much on YouTube regarding videos about theists versus atheists, or theists versus religious people. By "theist," I mean someone who believes in God but not in religion.

There are plenty of videos featuring, for example, Muslims versus atheists or various religious groups, but I can't find many videos of:

  1. Religious people versus theists
  2. Religious people versus deists
  3. Atheists versus deists

If you could recommend any channels or videos of people discussing or arguing these points—ideally in a Speaker's Corner format—where it's a theist or spiritual person versus a religious person, I would appreciate it.

I am someone who believes in God but not religion, it's frustrating that I can't find any videos like this where people with my view are arguing against religious people, etc.

Thank you.

Heat intolerance and low carb link?

I started low carb about a month ago and it's been working well; I'm losing body fat and my muscle mass is staying the same. However, I also play intense tennis.

I was playing in the sun a few days ago and I was completely exhausted. I have heat exhaustion. I guess because I didn't have enough carbs before playing, I was under-fueled, perhaps because my body isn't used to utilizing fat for fuel yet. Now, I can no longer cool down from any heat and I can't eat anything, throwing up food and drink.

It's a combination of heat exhaustion and under-fueling carbs for my intense tennis. I'm wondering: what would your advice for me be? What should I do in the long term, given that I want to lose fat?

DJS or Palate Expander

I'm just wondering which one I should get. I have TMJ problems, including clicking in my jaw for years, and my dentist said my jaw is set back.

I also have sleep-disordered breathing. I'm going to try to get a sleep study and a CBCT scan done, but in the meantime, any analysis would be appreciated.

I need advice. What would you recommend? Would you recommend jaw surgery, palate expansion, or something else?

I'm in my 20s and since I got my braces off and had 4 teeth extracted, I have TMJ symptoms (jaw clicking, tongue svallopimg, sleep disordered breathing, muscle spasms in jaw and neck, eye pressure, etc)

What would your analysis be and what would you recommend I have:

  1. Palate expansion
  2. Jaw surgery
  3. LeFort
  4. Or something else?

I am already looking into getting a sleep study and a CBCT.

Religion is not the same as your nationality and heritage. it is not your identity

Because they have beeen indoctrinated from birth, being brought up as Muslims. It is part of their identity so critically thinking and leaving would cause identity crusus which is more important to them than the truth.

But you are not born a Muslim. You are born a certain gender and DNA heritage, but a religion is different. It is not something you are born into. yet some people think if you leave religion, you are leaving yiur herutage and nationality because of how intertwined they are.

If reading full quran in translation was the norm, would more people leave Islam?

It is custom for Muslims to read the Quran in arabic. If they would understand what it said, how many more would question Islam? Even those are forced to memorise quran, most havent read the full translaruon in their own language so they don't understand it.

Wouldn't lots more people leave Islam if this was the case? or at least question it

Pakistan allows mob killing of apostates. How to change this?

Mobs are not punished for killing apostates and police have even stoody by and don't intervine in case they are labelled as apostates.

Apostacy should not be labelled as treason or blasphamy and should not be punishable by prison sentance or death.

The government does not arrest mobs who kill which allows people who leave the religion to be killed.

I wish Pakistan could return to before Shariah law and Islam where people could live freely, dress how they want and have freedom of any religioms, cultures, etc

Bet Netflix show S1E4 the recital is the most uncomfortable episode in tv history and dangerous to impressionable kids/ young adults

The episode is focused on girls trying to take Ryans virginity. Reducing sex to something to a physical game and a deep emotional or spuritual connection. Plenty of impressionable kids are watching and it skews their thought thinking how casual and not important sex is.

What so you think about the opressive interaction rules with the opposite gender?

Many Muslims follow the belief that men can't sit next to a woman, can't shake hands with a woman, can't be friends with a woman, can't look at a woman

.

And the reason for this is to make sure they don't have any sexual relations with them. It is such a backward and extreme way of thinking.

Do they think they are that attractive, if they shake any woman's hand or be friendly to them that the woman will want sex? It's a veey repressive way if living.

Its not out of respect. The reason is to make sure no lust happens.

What is your version of the afterlife?

As we dont know this, what is your truth? Does our soul go to a spiritual realm and we see people we know? Do we geg our bodies? Do we meet God? Do we remember our life on Earth? I would love to hear your truth as we are all lost souls in a way that dont the answers to the big questions.

What qualities do you think God/higher power does or does not have?

Do you beleive in many Gods? Maybe you think God isn't all powerful or knowing?

I think religions vergion of God is not accurate. I think God isn't all powerful and has limitations such as not being able to interact with us on Earth. Maybe God isn't all powerful. Let me know what qualities you think God does and doesn't have?

As an ex muslim, how do you view God?

Right now, my belief is that God exists, but isn't how religion describes him. Maybe God can't interact with us on Earth and maybe isn't all powerful or all knowing. Let me know if you believe in a God or higher power and what their qualities may or may not be?

I have heard Mohammed took inspiration from this religion as some of his relatives were followers of this religion and that he copied the 5 prayers from this religion? Do you agree, is there anything else you can tell me about what you believe in etc?
