[Advice Needed] How to break into the Dubai Modeling/Talent scene as a "New Face"?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking to explore the modeling and commercial talent industry here in Dubai. I have 0 professional experience in this field, but I’ve been told I have great potential for lifestyle and commercial work. I’m very adaptive, professional, and ready to put in the work for auditions.
I have a few questions for those in the industry:

  1. Agencies: Are agencies like MMG, Bareface, or Diva still the best for beginners in 2026? Are there any others I should look into?
  2. Castings: Besides Mixfame and MMG Talent, are there specific platforms or WhatsApp groups where legitimate casting calls are posted?
  3. Portfolios: Do I need a professional book right away, or will clean "digitals" (natural phone photos) suffice for initial applications?
  4. Avoidance: How do I spot "scam" agencies that charge high upfront fees? I want to ensure I’m working with reputable people who pay fairly.
If anyone has experience with the audition/interview process for models in the UAE, I’d love to hear your tips!

[Seeking Entry-Level] CS Graduate (Big Data & AI) | Full-Stack & Web Design Portfolio | Immediate Joiner

Hi everyone,
I’m a fresh Computer Science graduate from UOWD (Specialization: Big Data & AI) looking for my first professional role in the UAE. While I have 0 years of corporate experience, I have spent the last few years building a high-potential skill set through complex solo projects.
What I offer:
Tech Stack: Strong foundation in Python (ML models like Random Forest/Logistic Regression), Java, and SQL.
Web Design: Extensive experience in UI/UX and Full-Stack development for solo web projects.
Adaptability: I’m a fast learner who can pivot between data-heavy backend work and creative frontend design. I am open to all fields where I can contribute and grow.
What I’m looking for:
I am looking for a legitimate entry-level position with a fair, liveable salary that reflects my technical skills. I am highly motivated and hardworking, but I am specifically looking for roles that offer professional growth and avoid exploitation.
I have my CV and portfolio (including my web design work) ready to share. Please comment or DM if you have any leads or would like to see my work!

How to start modeling in Dubai/UAE? Looking for agency & casting advice.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking to break into the modeling industry here in the UAE and would love some guidance from anyone with experience or currently in the field.
I don't have formal agency experience yet, but I’m very adaptive and have been told I have great potential for both commercial and lifestyle work. I’m hardworking and ready to put in the effort for auditions, but I want to make sure I’m going about it the right way.
A few questions for the pros:

  1. Which agencies are the most reputable for "new faces" or beginners? I’ve seen names like MMG and Bareface—are they the best to start with?
  2. How do you find legitimate casting calls? I’ve heard about Mixfame, but are there other platforms or WhatsApp groups I should know about?
  3. What should a beginner’s "starter kit" look like? Do I need a professional portfolio right away, or are simple "digitals" (phone photos) okay to start?
  4. Any red flags I should look out for? I want to avoid "agencies" that ask for large upfront fees for "training" or "portfolios."
Thanks in advance for any tips or leads!

Recent CS Grad in Dubai – Seeking feedback on my portfolio and the local tech market

Hi everyone,
I’m a recent Computer Science graduate (Big Data & AI) currently navigating the Dubai tech scene. As I start my career journey, I was hoping to get some "real world" feedback from professionals in this sub.
I have 0 years of corporate experience, but I’ve spent my time building solo projects in Web Design and Full-Stack development. I consider myself highly adaptive and ready to tackle steep learning curves, but the current market feels a bit overwhelming.
I’d love your perspective on a few things:

  1. For those in the tech/creative industry here, what are the "must-have" skills that local companies actually value right now?
  2. How do you distinguish between a genuine entry-level opportunity and roles that might be exploitative? I’m looking for a fair start where I can grow, not just an internship with no path forward.
  3. I’m open to all fields (Tech, Design, Business Analysis)—is it better to stay broad or should I niche down immediately given my Big Data background?
I’m happy to share my portfolio/GitHub via DM if anyone is willing to give it a quick roast or some constructive criticism!
Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can share.
