As a foreigner i thought that the majority of Americans are unfit or overweight
But it's not true. The neighborhood i work in, people are gorgeous, fit, and thin, i feel very out of shape compared to them
But it's not true. The neighborhood i work in, people are gorgeous, fit, and thin, i feel very out of shape compared to them
I have these new neighbours, they are the loudest. they are intimate almost every day, she yells so loudly the whole building can hear her
What if she starts screaming when my family decides to visit me
Not to mention, they have 2 small yapping dogs that bark nonstop
I hear a lot of cashiers say that kind customers make their day, that they love talking to them, and that they derive energy from social chit-chat.
For me, "kind customers" are even worse, especially the ones who cannot stop talking or worse, add a stupid dad joke.
I just want to know if there is an introverted cashier out there
I feel like im alone in this
Especially when im exhausted, the self check out is wide open, there is no one there and im also standing next to it, its almost the end of my shift and instead of going to self check out they keep walking and come directly to me
Im just curious what their thought process is and what their reason is
They have a few items since our store is not that big
I am always polite and nice to customers, trying my best to help them, but this one bitchy customer who always comes to my line makes me feel like leaving her standing there and calling the manager to scan her items.
She is trying to teach me to say hello to her. I don’t always say hello to every single customer because it gets tiring, but in the end, I always make sure to smile and tell them to have a good day.
So she comes up feeling very entitled and says to me, "Hellooooow, how are YOU today?" in a sarcastic tone. I swear, if she had been nice to me, I would have said, "Oh, my bad, I was just so busy that I forgot to say hello." It’s just her tone, and it's not the first time she did that
I swear, if she says that to me again, I won’t reply or say a word to her. She can complain about me all she wants.
Im not very talkative with strangers, and i feel sorry for the driver who has to be with me in the car for 30 minutes of silence, lol
Is it just me, or does it feel nerve-racking when you have to show yourself after gaining weight?
I haven't seen my nieces and brother-in-law in almost a year, and I've gained more weight—in total 7 kg since I moved to the country I'm in right now, and more than 2 kg since November last year.
How do I stop feeling embarrassed?
I know there's a high chance they won't say anything about my weight gain, but I still fear they might think about how I've lost control over myself.
And it's not just with my family, it is with friends, coworkers, anyone
I know it's ridiculous, but I can't help it and want to stop. Any tips?
Unfortunately, i dont love myself when im out of shape. Not that im ripped right now
I want to buy a birthday cake and eat it alone with a spoon
One of my memories was always being bloated in school for some reason and trying my hardest not to fart in class, lol
What time do you eat breakfast, lunch and dinner?
*I
My coworker has been with the store for 20 years, and the privileges she gets are insane.
She always needs other cashiers to help her—or so she claims. There are only two cashiers at a time in our store, and she takes the register closest to the exit, where customers can rarely see her.
Instead of a 15-minute break, she takes a 30- or even 50-minute break.
She is always 30 minutes late.
No one says anything to her. She shows up, does the bare minimum, and gets paid good money.
And of course she thinks she's the manager, bosses everyone around her
Nobody seems to be bothered by it except me
At my previous store, there was another cashier who had worked there for 30 years, and she was nowhere near as entitled as my current coworker
They don't even wait for you to set it down.
They just grab the bag directly out of your hands.
Very touchy, lol
If you wanted to have a new friend, where would you go to get one?
Anywhere besides work
I'm not from the US originally, and I haven't been everywhere.
So far, the area I've been living in is completely infested with mice. I have never seen such a thing in other countries, and I've lived in many places.
Now I see mice where I work, and at a friend's house, they are also dealing with mice. In my apartment, I am tired of fighting with them. It feels like they are living in the walls or something, and I even see them running freely on the streets. What is going on?
Is this normal, and is all of the US like this?
I am so tired and terrified of them, this is just awful
Multimillion-dollar companies don't want to pay their employees properly, so they can line their own pockets with more money and pass the responsibility onto us, the customers.
We have normalized this.
Take Instacart, for example we pay for the items, a delivery fee, plus tip.
If you don't tip well, your order won't get delivered. In other words, if you don't pay their salary for them, it won't get delivered. It's ridiculous
There is always something you need to do every day
Buy something, send the document, do a copy of that document, call someone, cook something, clean something
My mind is always on alert and afraid of missing something
I will eat it all
Why are they everywhere

If you've been here longer than i have, doesn't mean you have the right to order me around

I noticed there is no chatting. Some of them dont even say hi

It gets tiring to say to each of them, " Hello, how are you?"

So today i started scanning the items of this customer who you can tell loves to fight and then she said in a sarcastic voice " hellooo, how are YOU?" As if to imply i should have said that, and then she made this face and rolled her eyes on me, shaking her head

Jeez, what a tragedy if i dont say hi once in a while

I feel that when it's busy you dont have to say hi to every one of them
