What the heck is wrong with my tanks?

I have two 20 pound tanks. One for my grill one for my gas fireplace. Today I tried to fire up the fire place and at the first quarter turn I heard a click and no gas came out. This was with the gas valve on the fireplace still shut.

I swapped tanks and the other one did the same.

Now the same is happening to both when I hook them to my grill. I can't get gas to come out of either tank.

This is super weird. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Tips for getting permissions?

In 1985 my uncle had a blow out wedding. Complete drunk fest. His best man got in an argument with his fiancé at the time, and she took off her ring and threw it into the woods and it was never recovered.

The restaurant and woods are still there. I wasnt alive for said incident but my mom saw it and things she knows the general area to look.

Any tips for getting permission? Should I just go ask the manager and see if I can detect during some time that they are closed?

Wooden block in door frame

Ive had my 2025 Maverick since April. I just noticed there's a wooden block in the driver's side door frame. Has anyone seen anything like this before? It had 11k miles on it when I bought it, and the carfax is clean, but of course that doesnt always mean it didnt have body work.

The other thing is I found a large shard of non tempered glass tucked into a nook in the engine.

Really no idea what either of these findings mean.

Town Den Closed

Hi all,

My town had a cub scout den until last year when it closed. I think it was a combination of lack of leaders and enrollment. I think the den mom's running it moved on with their kids and nobody took the reins to keep it going.

A couple of the towns around us still have dens but its a real shame the one here is gone.

My son is still too young for scouts, but I aspire to get him in as soon as hes of age.

Is is feasible to resurrect the shutters den, or would we need to drive to a different community to join theirs?

Orange police sergeant, Frank Koshes, arrested after his companion sexually harassed teen employee leading to confrontation with Hartford officers at Yard Goats.

This was posted yesterday with vague details. Now that more information has come to light this I feel it warrants a repost. This person was hired to Orange PD to be in a training and accreditation role for the department source

This is who is training the next generation of police officers. This is who is responsible for certification of departments and officers.

Beretta 694

Anyone have a 694 they'd be willing to let me demo for a couple rounds of trap or sporting? You can come with as my guest. Happy to pick up your tab of ammo and clays for your time.

Underwriting frustrations- is this really how it is?

Im two years out of an underwriting training program in a very niche field. I am writing all-lines, P&C, in the middle market space. Both new and renewal business.

My book is roughly 13 million due to some turnover on the team. Its been really challenging. They told me in my position I'm supposed to be handling 5-ish million.

I was given a big book with some really challenging relationships and my numbers have been pretty good and I was recognized for that last year.

Im really enjoying the field overall, but lately I've been getting really frustrated with my broker "partners".

New business submissions come in with partially completed ACORDs or workbooks and they want 0 questions. I get that i should not be sending pages of questions but even simple requests for information go unanswered. For example, i got a request for an account with worldwide operations that was requesting FVWC. I asked if there was trip/travel to the middle east. The agent only replied with "none of your competitors asked for that". I don't think its unreasonable to ask if the insured is sending their employees to a literal war zone, dont think that should be a hot-take.

One of my agents responds to every request with "make this subject to bind". Like I cant make every piece of information that I need to underwrite an account subject to bind.

Property submission with 150M in value in one location. We had a loss control survey from 4 years ago that had a major fire hazard that they told us they were working on remediation back then. I asked if that had been completed in the last 4 years. No response.

The renewal/servicing side isnt better. Had an account that I wrote new a few years ago with limited info from our broker. First audit comes back with a 100k AP. The agent is furious and wants us to waive it.

I get the market is softer than its been in years. I want to write business. I want good retention numbers. I dont get how I am supposed to do that if I cant even get even the most basic information to actually underwrite the account.

Events with Beretta and Fabarm Demos

Ive been in the market for a shotgun for a while. I think ive narrowed it down to the 694 ACS and the Fabarm Allsport Type-T

If im going to drop that kind of cash I really want to demo them first to see which I prefer.

Im in Connecticut but willing to travel within 5 hours or so.

Anyone know of anywhere I can demo these shotguns?

Or if anyone owns either and wants to shoot some clays, clays and ammo are on me.

Lifetime 8x15 shed install

Ordered a lifetime 8x15 dual entry shed. Had this 10x17 pad put in with a small retaining wall.

Reading the directions for the shed lifetime recommends either a concrete pad or building a wood frame underneath. Im wondering if I can assemble it directly on the gravel or if I should build the wooden frame on the gravel first.

Anyone have any insight?

I have a 1997 Z3

Last year I replaced the stock head unit with a modern single DIN unit and it worked well all summer. I put the car away for winter and the car battery despite being on a trickle charger died. I replaced the battery and the head unit seems to be working. Even on HD radio it shows what song is playing on the air, same for Bluetooth mode, but I dont get any sound through the speakers.

Anyone have any ideas?
