PennDOT Fresh Oil and Chips on Second Ave

PennDOT Fresh Oil and Chips on Second Ave

Just a heads up that this week PennDOT put down fresh oil and chips on Second Avenue (State Route 4015) north of PA-113 headed towards Royersford. Just thought I'd mention it here for the folks from Phoenixville that use that road. You may want to avoid it for a couple weeks until the road sorts itself.

Bluetooth Connection Problem after August System Update on P10

After installing the August System Update on my P10 my Bluetooth connection has been acting up. It randomly disconnected from my Pixel Watch today and nothing I did, including rebooting both devices would get it to connect. Then randomly a few hours later it reconnected on its own accord. Having a similar problem with its Bluetooth connection to my car. The car does not see the phone's Bluetooth signal anymore and can't connect to it. Didn't have any problems like this prior to installing the August System Update.

Phoenixville Borough Trash Collection Question

I have a few questions about trash collection.

  1. If I have extra trash that won't fit in my Borough trash can, can I put it on the ground next to the Borough trash can to have it collected?
  2. If I have extra trash that won't fit in my Borough trash can, can I put it in a separate trash can (that I purchased on my own at a place like Walmart) next to the Borough trash can to have it collected?
  3. If the answer to 1 is yes and the answer to 2 is no, why would that be? It should be easier and cleaner to pickup an extra can and dump in the truck than it would be to pickup loose trash bags from the ground.

Groundhog - what to do?

Found this under my porch today. Wasn't there yesterday. Saw the groundhog too. What should I do to stop it? Is it going to damage my house slab?

Red Thermostat Wire Blows Fuse

This past weekend my A/C stopped working. The thermostat said "no power" on it. Went down to the gas furnace in the basement and found a blown 3A blade fuse on the circuit board. Replaced it and it blew again immediately. Went back upstairs and removed the thermostat from the wall. Disconnected all wires and secured them. Went back to the furnace, put in a new fuse, powered up and it blew again. So then I disconnected all thermostat wires at the circuit board terminals. Put in a new fuse and powered it up. Fuse did not blow. Then I connected only the red wire to its terminal on the board. Powered up and the fuse blew immediately. Removed red wire and attached spare (unused) orange wire to the red wire terminal. Put in a new fuse and powered up, the fuse did not blow. Hooked up all other thermostat wires (except red of course) and reconnected the thermostat using spare orange wire instead of red wire. A/C has been running fine since then. So my question is, what happened to my red wire? It's been fine for the 5 years I've lived in this house and all of a sudden the wire blows that fuse.

Screw in Tire

Had a screw in my tire. Pulled it out with pliers. Sprayed with soap water and see no leaks. Am I good or how "screwed" am I? Tire has like 3,000 miles on it.

Sticky Volume and Climate Control Knobs

What are people doing to address sticky radio volume and climate control knobs? My 2013 F30 has this problem, I'm sure other variants have it as well. They become sticky in hot weather and when you touch them it leaves a residue on your fingers. It feels like the material is breaking down with age.

CCA Trunk Badge Question

If I put this on my trunk, is it basically permanent / difficult to remove later, if it needed to be removed for any reason?

▲ 5 r/WashingMachineUnits+1 crossposts

This Maytag washing machine that came with my house stretches out, tears, and eventually destroys clothes. It doesn't have an agitator, just an impeller on the bottom. It typically entangles the arms of shirts and legs of pants all together and they come out in a giant mess. It seems like it doesn't use enough water. Even if I put it on bulky or deep water wash it doesn't fill up enough. What am I doing wrong?
