What causes a computer to sound like a sad ghost?
I cannot find any other way to describe this sound accurately than "a sad whining ghost sound" (which i admit sounds insane). Its not whining as in coil whine (as its not a "constant high pitch noise"), nor does it sound like a "plane engine taking off", which i keep encountering every time i searched for this in the last few years
I've had this PC for around 9 years and its always sounded like this, so i don't think its any kind of issue, but it hit me that i have absolutely no idea what causes this noise. Is it the fans? Is it storage? The liquid cooling?
This is the sound it makes while completely idle btw, no apps or games open. It just sounds like that. I don't think the noise even increases under load, as i never noticed a difference when doing heavy tasks (such as running beat saber on linux with OBS).
Specs, if it helps:
- Amd Ryzen 5
- rtx 4060 (previously RX 570)
- 16gb ram
- cobra240 water cooling
- 2 SSDs (SATA and Adata)
- p650b gigabyte psu
For some reason its kinda quiet in the video but the sound is very audible irl, its around 45db (if i measured it right)
If i need to share some other aspect for clarity, let me know!
