I've come across a strange issue with my UGREEN NAS (DH2300 running UGOS 1.16.0.0089) when accessing it from Ubuntu 22.04 via the GNOME Files SMB connection.
I can browse the share normally, copy files to it, and even create files from the command line using the GVFS path. However, applications such as LibreOffice fail when trying to save directly to the share. Instead of saving, I get the error:
> Could not read the contents of "Public 2 on pool 2" > Not a directory
The save fails and leaves behind numerous temporary cpOrMv_*.ug-tmp files on the share.
What I've confirmed so far:
- Ubuntu is accessing the NAS via
gvfsd-fuse(not a native CIFS mount). - The share is writable (
touchworks from the terminal). - Copying existing files to the share works fine.
- Saving directly from LibreOffice fails with the error above.
Has anyone else experienced this with a UGREEN NAS? Is this a known GVFS/SMB compatibility issue, or is there a setting in UGOS that affects how applications perform safe-save (temporary file + rename) operations?
