Rosie and Bella agree, this is the place to be!

We adopted Bella 3 months ago as a rescue stray, and on her pound papers from her 1st adoption she was listed as pitbull mix, but our curiosity at her big barrel chest, purple spotted tongue and adorable black snout led us to get her DNA tested... 26% Bull Terrier, the largest contribution.

As soon as I looked down a few pictures on this sub, it all made sense... Not German Shepard, not black mouthed cur...

This dog was on an accelerated 3/3/3 schedule after adoption. She fit in with the the kids and the cats immediately and we came to trust her with them within days. Her temperament is unlike any other dog I've had. She is so happy, so unbothered by visitors or dogs across the street or meeting new people. She doesn't have to meet you, but if you want to meet her she'll wag her tail and share some love. We're pretty sure she was a yard dog for her first family, so she still learning potty training, but in every other way she is perfect. We scored!

I usually reserve some of Rosie and Gavin's cutest little moments to post over there, but every time I see downvotes come in. I unsubscribed, they are not worthy!

Rosie and Gavin are playing less frequently, but in the morning they still get on each other with the same passion!

One of my little inventions is when assembling these boards that may have imperfect straight edges to clamp, I insert a loosely crumpled roll of aluminum foil between the pieces and the clamping rail... As you clamp up, the foil compresses, but it will still push against pieces that are not quite long enough to reach the rail, thus preventing small gaps around the edge pieces....

In this case I had only two flat edges on the left and right. As you can see, the arrowed pieces were too short to be touched by the clamp rail, yet were still pushed properly into place.

Also, I don't need to be told that being cheap and using OSB as a clamping rail is a terrible idea, and will bow with the whims of the clamps....

We're used to finding 4 dragonfly wings on the floor, or a mouse tail, or half a lizard, but now Gavin has started bringing lizards in unharmed as playmates. This is the third this week, the fiancee found one behind the toilet this morning, completely fine.

He started getting a little rough with this one, so I took it from him and dropped him over the fence in the neighbor's yard.

I picked a tricky design for my first board, although definitely not first woodworking! I made this in memory of my 2nd wife who passed unexpectedly, and board making became a huge part of my therapy and recovery from the depression and loss of life inertia.

The video is 20x, so assembly was about 25 mins, 95 pieces

If you know Rosie, you expect her to be full of spunk and energy at all times, but she adapts her oomph and relationships with her cats to their wants and desires. Love this pup so much.

Bella has been with us for 3 months and until yesterday, I had not heard of the breed. Is her spotty tongue a defining characteristic for the breed, or does it point to a different breed? Thoughts? Bella is 3 years old, 48lbs, stands 20" at the shoulder.

These girls are wonderful together. Bella has been with us 3 months and fits our family, cats and all *perfectly*!

Seconds before this, Gavin was standing on his back legs so he could wrap the fronts around Rosie's head so he could bite her ear! 🤣

The dogs ran outside to check on the squirrels, and Squee came running in for some attention, a rare pleasure! You can see why we call him that! He even stuck around after Rosie and Bella showed up! Lots of love!
