Looking for these metal clips
I’m in the process of recreating a bunch of motorcycle bags my friend lent me.
Anyone have an idea as to where I might find these little metal clips?

When you and your bud have similar tastes.
This one I made a bit smaller; probably around 16L when rolled down and 25L when fully opened? Last pic is of me wearing for scale.
I wanted it to be dead simple, as I’ll mostly use as my daily bicycle bag to & from the office, so it’s just a single tube. I did use mesh on the underside of the straps, but no foam inside since I don’t have plans to carry a huge load for extended times with this.
Rolls up nicely if I want to put in my bicycle’s frame bag or into a larger travel bag.
Things I might want to implement for next version:
Been riding motorcycles for 15 years-ish, but had never ridden a dirt bike until recently. Picked up this 2005 Suzuki DRZ400S with plans to ride the WA BDR route this summer.
Has been really fun to learn something new and experiencing the realization how capable this bike is compared to street bikes.
Pic 3, 4, & 5 are of my first round prototype to make a rack-less luggage system for the BDR and other camping adventures.
Starting a new job this week, so I treated myself to a little solo getaway a few days ago.
Bellingham -> Sea To Sky HWY -> Whistler & back the same way.
Fox & Oak in Squamish for coffee and doughnuts both ways (highly recommend).
Went for a hike out of Whistler Village: saw a Pheasant, a coyote, two deer, two (very friendly) marmots, and a baby black bear.
Refueled with Mushroom Pot Pie and poutine (because Canada).
Spent the morning strolling around, then headed back down S2S HWY, stopping for Oysters along the way.
Made this for a friend’s partner’s bday.
They wanted a simple bag just big enough for their camera—ironically I owned the same camera and lens as her, so I was able to dial in the measurements to make just big enough to fit.
I hadn’t added a zipper pocket to a pouch like this, nor D-rings for strap, so it was a fun project to improve with.
Little bag I made the other day.
2.92 oz Dyneema
Waterproof zipper
Additional internal zipper pocket
Additional strap to secure on the back for riding a bicycle/motorbike
I just made this for myself, but wondering if I was to try to sell these, what would you expect the price to be?
Of course the helmet needs to fit the head—but outside that, does anyone have strong suggestions for helmets that aren’t crazy expensive?
Background info:
- ridden motorcycles for 15 years but just got my first dual sport: 2005 DRZ400S (very hyped!)
- want something that has a lot of airflow, I usually run on the warm side, and will wear a balaclava if needed in colder months.
- I will end up riding on the road about an hour at top speeds of 60-70mph to all the trailheads in my area.
- I wear eye glasses, but occasionally might want to wear contacts so I can run goggles—maybe?
The helmets that are of interests so far are:
- Bell MX-9 ADV
- Leatt ADV 7.5 Helmet
[also I totally agree that a helmet is where you should spend good money, but I also just upgraded my street helmet and bought the DRZ so funds are quite tight]

Annual trip from NW Washington to Portland OR & back for the One Moto Show.
X-T4 & 35mm lens.
I’ve been riding motorcycles extensively for about 15 years: ridden my 1993 Sportster across the country twice, love motorcycle camping, currently have my Sportster and a 2017 Triumph Street Twin.
I’ve only gotten to ride a dirt bike (‘94 XR250) once, last fall, and it was an absolute blast. I’ve done a ton of enduro mountain biking the last 7 years.
I’m wanting to ride the WA BDR this summer with a group of guys I do an annual (800-1000 mile) street moto trip. I also want a bike I can ride from my home in Bellingham WA out into the mountains to explore.
I’m planning to take a bus down to Seattle to buy this 2005 DRZ400S for around $3,000 in a few days. I think I feel good (even great!) about it, but figured I’d throw this out to see what DRZ enthusiast might think?
Details about the motorbike:
Ad copy:
2005 DRZ400S. Runs great. Ready to ride. Well maintained. Includes stock tank, seat and other misc spares and parts. The seat on the bike is a tall seat. The stock seat was re-contoured by the previous owner to be a lowered seat.
Seller has purchased in 2018 with 14,000 miles and now has 18,000 miles.
Purchased from a guy that worked at a Suzuki dealership, who fully went through bike and did a valve adjustment before selling. No maintenance details before that.
Changed the oil with full synthetic every 2k miles (on the 1000 mile point to not miss it). Filters cleaned or changed regularly. Says it’s been a super reliable bike which has never really had any issues.
The previous owner put a Dynojet jet kit in it. It ran well but got poor gas mileage so seller replaced it with a JD jet kit and did a 3x3 mod. Says the fuel mileage got better and there was an increase in top end power.
Has a LeoVince Exhaust with quiet insert spark arrestor, composite skid plate, ODI bars, an extended shifter, bar risers.
And it comes with all the stock parts he pulled off it: tank, skid plate, shifter etc.
It also has a lithium Ion battery to save a few pounds.
Comes with another lead acid battery that’s only a couple years old, additional set of tires, Shinko 705’s with hardly any miles in them. Plus a bunch of other spares and miscellaneous stuff.
He purchased another more single track focused bike in 2020, and has been riding this less and less. Seems like a really genuinely nice and honest human.
If you’ve read all this—I really really appreciate it, and any thoughts or insight is also very much welcome!
Cannot believe I found this little one. Was really high up and with all the foliage coming in, was quite hidden.
The (content) poor man’s Aston Martin😜
Woke up early & nervous for an interview later in the day. Went for a walk in the woods for calmness, and saw these along the way!
