Officially a paid author!

I uploaded 7 chapters to a web novel site last night and woke up to three pence. LOL. Hopefully that will grow as I continue adding chapters. I am excited that someone thought it was worth paying for though.

Trump and Vance commit worse crimes than Watergate every day!

Mr. Vance also conspiratorially compared the political forces that pushed Nixon out of office to President Trump’s opponents.

“If you look at the story of how the deep state took down Richard Nixon,” Mr. Vance said, “it’s not all that different from what the same groups of people, the same institutions, tried to do to Donald Trump in the first Trump administration.”

$900 child support payment

My ex send $40 maybe $100 randomly for child support payments. He's $6,000 behind. I always report whatever I get to Health and Welfare. Today I got a random $900 payment which pushes me over the monthly income limit.

I assume I won't get anything on my EBT card next month and that's fine. I'll just use the $900 for food.

My question is will I have to reapply next month since I doubt he'll make another $900 payment? Does me going over income this month cancel my benefits?

I'm in Idaho.

Budget Book Covers

I’m almost finished writing my very first book and plan to self-publish on Amazon. 🎉

I’m starting to think about the cover and could use some advice. I don’t want to spend a fortune on a professional designer, but I also don’t want to use AI-generated artwork.

For those of you who have self-published, what did you use to create a professional-looking cover on a budget? Did you use stock photos, Canva or something else?

I’d love to hear what worked for you and roughly what it cost. Thanks!

Disappointed

A few months back I worked on a great US tax/financial project. It was a short-term role and I worked my booty off and was a top performer. The manager of that project personally recommended me for a long-term 'sister project. '

Even with doing a great job on the previous project. Being qualified and having the personal recommendation, I ended up not being selected for the role.

Needless to say, it is very disappointing.

Katie Telis Response to my opposing Data Centers in Spokane Email

Thank you for your comments.  I agree and do not support the development of data centers unless it can be clearly shown that they will not: (1) have adverse consequence on the power grid;  (2) increase costs or create financial risks for City ratepayers; and (3) will not have negative environmental impacts, especially regarding water usage. Any proposal must include strong safeguards to ensure that residents and businesses are not left bearing the financial or environmental costs of these developments.  As of now, I have seen no data center proposal that would meet these requirements and will be supporting a City-wide moratorium unless and until such technological advancements are made.

In addition, I want to make clear that the city can impose a moratorium on all data centers within city limits and it appears likely we will do so.  However, our aquifer (the Spokane Valley-Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer) is the sole source of water for most people in Spokane County and in Kootenai County.  To address all potential data centers that would affect our aquifer, I strongly suggest you express your concerns to the Spokane County Commissioners and the Kootenai County Commissioners as well.

Kootenai County Commissioners can be emailed collectively here:

Spokane County Commissioners can be emailed collectively here:

Thanks again for your advocacy.

Postal Service won’t deliver mail ballots for states that don’t hand over voter lists, under plan for Trump directive, according to CNN

https://www.cnn.com/2026/06/10/politics/postal-service-deliver-mail-in-ballots?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=missions&utm_source=reddit

State election officials could soon face a stark choice: Hand over voter lists to the Trump administration or risk losing Postal Service delivery for mail-in ballots.

That dilemma stems from newly proposed USPS rules that seek to comply with an executive order President Donald Trump signed this spring to crack down on mail-in voting. If courts let the order stand, it would give the federal government an unprecedented role in elections — and could put even more voter data in the hands of Trump officials searching for supposed election fraud.

The Trump administration cleared an initial legal hurdle last month, when a federal judge in Washington, DC, who is overseeing one set of the cases, declined to block Trump’s executive order, allowing the Postal Service to begin implementing it.

The Democratic Party groups are asking an appeals court to speed up its review of that decision, warning that voters around the country could be disenfranchised in this year’s midterm elections if the proposal is not blocked.

Do you think they meant to put a Confederate soldier on this sign?

The depicted Civil War soldier is wearing grey, which means he was a Confederate. Union soldiers wore dark blue.

Weird Experience HH

I've been on HH since Dec 22nd. In Dec they asked me to send in my college diploma and my transcripts so I did and they were able to verify me.

Monday all of a sudden, I am told that I need to do this again and I send them the same exact information as I did in December. Today I hear back that I did not pass the trust and safety and wouldn't be able to participate in any HAI project.

The weirdest part is that I did not get an offboarding email, I did not lose access to slack and my 'start task' button is still active and I pushed it to see what it would do and it worked normally and brought me to the MM page that had tasks on it.

I asked in the Slack channel and the specialist told me it might be a mistake and to keep working. I am not going to until I get clarity but I have no idea what is going on. I also know that I didn't do anything wrong.

I have a high QA score. I task on the same computer from my home always. I only work 10-15 hours a week. I did not lie about my credentials, and I proved it to them TWICE.

This company is a mess! Six months of no problems (besides the pay for the last few weeks) and now this.

Fast Tracked for role

If you were fast-tracked for a role, does it still take 30 days to find out if you got the position or not?

I was fast-tracked on May 15th for the tax law role, and it seems stuck in Hiring Manager Review.

Potential WIC budget cuts.

Under the President’s proposal to severely reduce the fruit and vegetable benefit, nearly 5.4 million participants would face cuts of 62 percent to 75 percent compared to current levels, depending on the participant category. The proposal would:

  • take away $16 monthly from toddlers and preschoolers, leaving them with only $10 monthly for fruits and vegetables;
  • take away $35 monthly from pregnant and postpartum participants, leaving them with only $13 monthly; and
  • take away $39 monthly from breastfeeding participants, leaving them with only $13 monthly.

I just read this article. Please take action and email your representatives about this. $10 a month in fruits and veggies is ridiculous. It is just a proposal right now so we can still do something about this.

Went to N/A and found it triggering.

I am five years sober today. I went to N/A to celebrate and tell my story but I found it triggering. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone smoking cigarettes outside. People who look like they got sober two hours ago.

My feelings surprised me. Just trying to see if I'm the only one.
