Where do I start

Probably heard 20 songs. Maximum. Ones I LOVED are Thug Psalms, big boss rabbit, 9MM go bang bang, and his verse on Scottie Pippen

What album or Mixtape should I start with? He has a lot of music. I like introspective music a lot too. That’s why I like Thug Psalms. If yall got any recommendations, lmk. Even if it’s not heavily introspective.

Thank you.

If you can’t immediately name half of the songs off an album

Then stop calling it a classic….it’s no way in the world the same 6 albums get brought up as classics in every conversation when we know good and well a lot of people partaking only know 1-2 popular songs from it. If you don’t know an album well enough to name half the songs, calling it a classic is simply repeating the opinion of what you heard and not what you truly believe.

Poor Thang Is J. Cole’s best song

I think this is his best song

Everything he does well as a rapper, artist, and producer, he did on this song. And did it exceptionally well

The depths of imagery started by placing you in his shoes. Climbing out of an INFINITE hole. His SOUL. Not him. His soul. It’s permanent. But he is still climbing and going against the grain. Let alone the fact that he used multiple internal rhymes in the first few bars, the fact that he is making everything correlate is jaw dropping

In this infinite hole, people die over pride and live for money. And he is conflicted with no digits to show. Because he is broke. How is his would going to survive an infinite abyss, in a worlds where people live for something in which he doesn’t have. And they will kill for it. No matter the temperature, they will still slide like tires on the whip in the snow….Combine that with the frequent usage of consonance and the never ending “P” consonant that is repeated throughout the verse. Very 2pacish

Throughout all of this LOUD chaos, Cole has to “tip toe” to circumvent it as well as the loud sticks blowing. Gotta stay composed. That’s a lot of tip toing. It’s an infinite hole….but he can’t get aggressive or out his characters. Remember, n*ggas die over pride. And when it gets higher than Mariah’s vocals chains, it’s going to expire

And at the end, he takes a moment to reflect: I know my road to fame is rife with spikes and broken chains AND tows he cannot afford….but he won’t complain. The more he struggles, the more he gains

Man I swear. This gotta be his best verse. Not even getting into the lyrically technicality of the bars and his ability to have multiple poetic devices and lyrically density all at once. While maintaining a vivid story with stream of consciousness ideas, double entendres, alliteration, etc. and the production. It sounds like everything he is good at. Combined into one. But of the bass and kicks developed from KOD and studying Southside/TM88. He even used gross beat during the chorus (that’s a production technique Tm88 uses. Makes the beat scratch and jump around). And he has the standard, Kanye sounding chipmunk style sample that he came up on. Lyrically, it’s Cole as usually but he also put some melodic structures in the song that he developed over his years in the game. This his best song imo

Why does J. Cole get so much hate?

For reference, I’m an appreciate Cole’s music but more than anything, I’m a fan of good music with good intentions. huge rap fan. …

Naturally, the algorithm will lead me to Cole related post. Or rap related post in general

One thing I have noticed within the last year, especially recently, was a wave of people who seem to be in an Olympic race to say the most profound, off the wall opinion regarding Cole’s music. It’s usually not “I don’t think his music is good. It’s overrated”……comments seem fake philosophical and often times, have nothing to do with the music

And often times, it’ll be on obscure pages. Or pages for artist Cole raps with. EX: PFG released a song with Cole. Several comments within PFG music video are talking about how bad J. Cole is as a rapper…..how did they ever find themselves on an artist page who only has 2,000 subs, only to downplay a totally different artist

In some cases, I have seen people quote bars in the middle of an obscure mixtape (birthday blizzard) and use his lyrics to prove how “fake of a rapper” he is …how on earth would someone who doesn’t like his music be able to quote a bar in the middle of a song, in the middle of a mixtape that wasn’t even praised in terms of media replay value. None are radio songs. You have to go out of your way to find it.

And how/why are so many people being directed towards artist that they apparently don’t like?? I don’t like JIDs music (amazing rapper. He not for me)….i never see JID post or his recommendations. And he is associated with Dreamville

Has anybody else been noticing this?

Listened to Paramore for the first time in 20+ years

Randomly listened to Paramore today. Idk why….. I’m a hip hop head (Shout Out J. Cole and Phonte) but I’m not 100% unfamiliar with Paramore style of music, as Paramore was a hit song when I was a youngin. Party at the disco and avenged 7fold. I’m pretty sure it’s all kinda similar music I would indulge in sometimes.

Anyway, the album “Paramore” was so good. One of the best albums I have heard in my life. The entire time listening I was thinking “man. I was listening for Misery Business. When is the song going to play? But I love all these songs in between…I wish I downloaded this album off limewire back in the day because this sound is nostalgic…. to bad they only released one album because this sounds like a classic”…..

come to find out, “Paramore” album was released in 2013 and they kept releasing music after 2005. They have more than one album. And I’m so happy to find that out

Favorite song is “ain’t it fun”, but the entire album slaps

Im so excited for the next few weeks. Going to listen to all their music

Gambit Build. Getaway Artist. Arc warlock

Been playing gambit recently. Ended up being in the top 0.1% player

This build consistently puts me on ten game win streaks

In the video, I was using sourjorners tail shotgun. It’s cool but recently began using Duality. It’s better.

Don’t sleep on “Python” shotgun. Easy to acquire from gambit. Rips blockers in half. Destabilizing rounds is decent. Any shotgun with Incandescent is decent too. Helps a bit with beefy enemies

One male Rapper. One female rapper. One producer. One state

You’re the executive producer of an album….you get one shot to oversee an album with two rappers (male and female) and one producer but they have to all be from the same state. Who you picking? I got:

Rapsody And J. Cole. Fully produced by Khrysis. Carolina Stand Up

I don’t understand the like of Kanye music

Am I just missing something or is an age thing?

I dont see what a lot of ppl see in Kanye music…..he was the 2nd rapper I ever listened to. I had all his mixtapes like Prerequisite before college dropout and was a huge fan before his car accident. Was my number 1 till until he dropped Yeezus. MBDTF wasn’t my cup of tea, though I think it’s a classic and one of the best albums ever. Personally, it’s doesn’t tickle my fancy

But every album starting at Yeezus imo been horrendously bad. I’m not trying to trash talk his music or ppl who love it. And I counted the other day …..it’s maybe 6 Kanye songs since yeezus that I like.

But what the hell am I missing? Is anyone else like this???? He was my favorite. By far. Not even close and once Yeezus dropped, it’s like everything changed. Maybe his new music is really good, just hella different than stuff like College Dropout or “get well soon”? Idk what it is

Arc Warlock Gambit build

I haven’t left a gambit match without leading my team in motes, combatants killed, and primeval damage…probably half of my team losses this season came when the servers went down and I spawned back in a minute later with no ammo..

Few tips….start the match with eager edge swords…..keep it on till you get around 70-80 notes….you TECHNICALLY only need shots three shots of tractor cannon for the boss and in today’s meta, may not be necessary. Somebody probably has weaken somewhere. . Eager edge is extremely valuable on invades. Sometimes, I just keep it on the entire match.

Personally, when I invade I pop my class and grenade beforehand. Usually, you have your super ready for the first invade. Rush up on them, super 2-3 people. And with you rushing up on ppl that quickly, they can’t react to the fusion rifle. Only pop super on first invade. It’s RARE to get three supers in one match but you usually end up with two

Why scatter signal? Because unraveling. You barely fire weapons. Maybe once or twice per spawn will you need to fire weapon. But when I do, the extra crowd control comes in handy. Also, it’s a solid option to the artifact perk that boost damage as well as the several artifact perks that your teammate may have that increases damage to enemies afflicted by strand debuffs.

I guess you could swap the second arc fusion rifle but the main reason I don’t is because it’s still good vs chunky enemies and for some reason it works better vs invaders for me.

Also. You NEED class ability. At least 90. If you can only get 70, put a font in. If you got 50 class, add a second class font. Picking up orbs on class ability cast extremely important..

Just listened to Samurai

First time hearing this album. Is this Lupe best album or something? I have never heard someone rap like this over the course of a project in recent memory outside Fall Off by Cole but this is COMPLETELY different.. He is on another level and I see why Cole said “I’m not the best. Lupe exists”. It’s absolutely insane. Idk how he can rap better than this

And I haven’t even gotten into a deeper meaning or the theme of the album. I was just listening and noticed that dude was rapping his ass off

Think I’m going to give his discography a well needed deep dive….Im not new to his music. Lupe was the FIRST rapper I remember listening to with headphones. Food And Liquor original version back in 06…the first lyrics I wrote down to remember were Theme Music To a Driveby and Steady Mobbin. thought he was the best I heard then and still think he is the “best”. I just don’t consume his music like I should

I just kinda stopped listening after The Cool for reasons unknown. Think it was lasers or something. Outside of food and liquor and the cool, what is a dope Lupe album where he is rappin his ass off?

I’m not as hip to his music anymore, but I think some of his albums after The Cool were more “melodic friendly” or songs that were heavily focused on thematic undertone and not so much of your standard “rakim/nas” stylized lyricism….. I could be wrong, but what album do yall suggest? I heard Drogas Wavs. Just 1-2 songs back in the day. Not the whole album but I remember liking king nas, wav files, and I think another song.

How are random raids thee days?

Played since beta. Not an obnoxious sweat and used to absolutely hard carry players. Played several raids with first times and had fun

That said, how are random raids on PS these day? Not trying to do any longer than 25-30 minutes max.

Like I said, I’m not a sweat and don’t pressure people to speedrun, but

  1. Do ppl immediately shoot klaws eye to one phase or does everyone stand around during the 7-8 blast?

  2. The forge. Do 3 people go to the bottom still ?

  3. Do players still NOT run vibranium vs final boss klaw

  4. Are players still kind of dumb/disrespectful towards players time? Ex you’ll see a 180 player who for some odd reason, will refuse to stand on the buttons during the raid. Sometimes, the person in the middle who supposed to be pressing the three console buttons will be doing their own thing

  5. Do flyers still immediately leave ground characters like Panther and widow so they can die during the blast on the way to the anti metal room? Or do players for the most part complete that short, easy mechanic

I honestly don’t want to set foot back in the raid and feel the need to sweat through objectives

Listened to Stillmatic for the first time

Sup yall.…. got into Nas discography a few months ago. J. Cole retired and I felt compelled to give “It Was Written” a chance…..it’s one of the best album I ever heard…maybe the best….sound like Lupe was listening when recording food And liquor. A few ppl suggested “I Am”. It was wonderful. Classic imo..Scarface did amazing on it too

Got around to listening to “Lost tapes”. Whoever suggested that album, THANK YOU….that is the album that got me into rap. Was 20+ years ago so I forgot until I started rappin several lyrics. I still know several parts of Black zombies from when I was a kid….i Really love his depths of consciousness displayed on this album and the mature subject matter. It’s possibly also one of the best albums I have ever heard. i Know I said that for two albums, but Nas is a really good rapper

Now on to Stillmatic. I was already familiar with ether and Rule. Maybe 2-3 total songs. Regardless, I see why Nas fans say Illmatic is their favorite Nas album. He has aggressive songs like ether, lyrical storytelling like rewind, fly money talk songs like “The Flyest”, and introspective songs that make you feel good like “Rule”. The album is extremely balanced and doesn’t have many low points.

Stillmatic is indeed one for the record books and another example as to why Nas is considered one of the greatest to ever do it. I can’t wait to listen to Gods Son!!!

Eminem fans, how do you view Infinite

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdRHHn3OMrcyyQMqEdI_m6EgvGLhuLU0k&si=Gwkf9XvR2oE5JoRF

what’s up yall…

not a huge fan of Em music but I still think he is possibly one of the best mainstream rappers ever. Listened to every single album out of respect…However you want to define “great rapper” whether that be pure technical or story driven lyrics, Eminem is up there…Amazing songs too. Hellbound is fire…

That said, How do you all feel about “Infinite”? Out of all his, this is the only one I really really rock with sonically and connect with emotionally. It’s a damn good album and I really like most songs…a lot…. As Eminem fans, do you all want to see him going back to a style “similar” to this?

What builds are good for hand cannons

So far, I ran Solar Hunter either stompee. It feels good and smooth. Used it with dragon shadow also.

Used ophidian. For some reason, it didn’t feel as snappy as Solar Hunter

I like using Ace of spades and Agape hand canno.b

Do yourself a favor and listen to “Be”

Hope it doesn’t get removed or taken the wrong way by anyone in the great sub

If you never heard “Be” by Common, listen to it. It’s one of the best rap albums ever. Common is one of Cole’s major influences so I hope this doesn’t get removed. I’m not hip on much Common outside his albums with Kanye, but “Be” sounds like a blueprint to Cole’s music.

One Of the Best Debuts and THE best five album run in Hip Hop History. T.I.

When discussing classic debut albums, people tend to bring up records such as Illmatic, Reasonable doubt, ready to die, GKMC/Section 80, Doggystyle, etc.

One thing I noticed is that conversation rarely brings up T.I. Debut, I’m Serious.

I grew up on NY/Midwest style rap. Like Nas, Early 2pac, Phonte Coleman, young Kanye, Lupe, J Cole, etc…That’s my main source of music. That type of rap

I’m not from ATL but was heavily influenced by its music from Lil Jon, OutKast, Goodie Mob, Crime Mob, Jeezy….high school band played DJ Toomp at football games and Vice Versa by pastor Troy was our theme song for the band. That type environment

I’ll just say this….as a fan of several sub genres of rap, album for album, ain’t nobody fuckin with T.I…
