Android auto radio questions.
Hey y'all new to the channel and some questions about going new or used.
Recently purchased a 2007 manual ranger. Used a Honda Accord for ages with a Bluetooth radio adapter that definitely had some static at times and I want to take the time to actually swap out my head unit, but I have some questions and preferences that I'd like to ask about.
I've seen what a lot of people have said on r/CarAV said about companies like BOSS/Amazon units as they work really well... Up until they just don't. I understand sony/kenwood/pioneer/alpine/JVC are usually the way to go, but I have a specific unit I'm looking for and none of these companies really provide it for a reasonable price imo. Does anyone here have any of the cheaper alternatives that have actually lasted with 0 issues for years?
I'd like a unit with android auto, (preferably wireless but that's not a deal breaker) good sound EQ for future potential speaker upgrades, a \*physical\* dial (this is the big one I can't seem to find any of) and capability for a reverse camera. I would go for just a normal Bluetooth radio from Kenwood with no android auto but I travel very frequently and would need maps to work, that's one of the main reasons I'm upgrading is so I can navigate without having my phone on a holder hanging off my vent.
I have only found one unit within these companies that fits my criteria and it's the Sony XAV-AX100, which isn't produced anymore and has since been replaced by the XAV-AX1000, that only has apple car play. The unit looks really nice but I'm not sure if it'd be possible to get the 1000 working with my Google phone, and I'm not sure if this sub would recommend buying a pre-owned eBay unit over something new with less features or without physical buttons.
I'd really prefer to not use a touch screen for volume controls and like I said I need navigation built in. Any advice is appreciated, thank you.
Controllers stopped working
Sent my controllers through shipping overseas very last minute and forgot to take out my controller batteries (I remembered to drain the actual headset battery but I digress) and now my controllers won't turn on at all. One of them has a bit of corrosion, and I've since tried to clean the one up a bit and swap the batteries but they won't turn on. Is there anything I need to look for inside the controller to fix it? Or is it as simple as just cleaning up all the corrosion.
Only one of the controllers really looks corroded at all, but like I said neither work. Any help would greatly be appreciated, thanks.
Made this today, thought y'all would appreciate
Go Vols y'all.
Gay ranger?
Just picked this thing up a few weeks ago and other than a hvap leak and the ac blower resistor needing to be replaced this weekend she drives pretty solid, and I'm relearning manual on it. I've gotten so many compliments on it already, it's a blast, regardless of how bad my MPG is, lol.
V4 vs 4.0 V6?
Hello everyone, just moved to New Jersey and looking for a 2000s Ford Ranger for moving the motorcycle around but not being too big here, and was curious what yalls thoughts on trucks to go for?
I would be putting a motorcycle on the back relatively frequently, and using it maybe for odds and ends moving but not much more than that. It would be a daily, and obviously New Jersey I've heard gets some snow so I was debating if I'd need 4WD or not. I'd be doing a lot of the MX myself, so if the 4.0 is more likely to fail and the extra power isn't worth it I'd love to hear yall's thoughts.
Ideally I'd like a manual single cab, and everything else from there would be a bonus, but obviously trucks here have a decent amount of rust on them which I'm not really used to, how would you go about looking for specific parts that are too rusty/not that etc.
For reference I'll post a 2wd 4 cyl for sale ($6700) near me I checked out after work the other day, thanks!
PC half freezes after about 30 seconds after boot randomly.
Hello all, been having some issues with my PC lately, but a new one popped up yesterday after fixing (or so I thought) all the issues I was having after removing a stick of ram.
My build is:
7090 XT
7800 X3D
1000w Corsair SFFPSU
32 GB of g skill Z5 DDR5 (I have one stick I'm attempting to RMA at the moment as some issues I was having went away when I took it out.)
B650m Aorus Elite AX ICE
Win11
When I boot up my PC it's normal at the moment. I've had issues a few weeks ago with BSOD and my drives saying they were corrupted, did a full wipe and then reinstalled off of windows backup, so I'll be trying to do a full wipe from scratch and not keeping any of my data this time to see if that solves anything. Windows says the drives are in good health, so hopefully that isn't the issue, and I haven't been having any BSOD after doing the wipe/cloud download.
The issue I'm currently having, is after booting up windows is the computer completely freezes after about 30 seconds to a minute. I'm still able to use the search bar on the bottom, type, and move things around, but when I try to open a tab there's nothing. Sometimes I'm able to use my browser if I open it quickly enough, but things like steam and the like I've never been able to open. I've been able to take the gpu out, one of my NVMEs, and one ram stick, and the issue sometimes goes away with the combination of any of those but it will come back. For example last night I took my ram stick out that was giving some visual issues, and the issue went away and I was able to play totally fine for 6 plus hours, but when I booted up my PC today, the issue is back.
I'm currently in the process of completely wiping all data from my PC and trying that, and then I will try only one of my drives for a few days and see if maybe one of them is causing the issue, but at this point I feel it could be almost anything on the system, and I don't want to have to buy an entire new system practically to troubleshoot what could be the problem.
I did a CMD sfc /scannow and windows found nothing. Yesterday my PC was in total working order, and my build is relatively new. I had some issues with my gpu before screen tearing and struggling with very low tier games but after wiping my driver's and reinstalling the issue went away, the BSOD issue I was having went away after wiping my drives and reinstalling my cloud save, but as I said ATP I'm going to start completely from scratch. I've found people with this issue online but no one that I saw ever posted anything about fixing it, and like I said if I need to RMA something/replace it in the current climate (I bought my PC components in between the covid pricing and AI apocalypse) then I would like to make sure it's actually going to fix it before I spent 2 times what my PC was worth a year and a half ago.
Thank you all for your assistance, I will be posting a comment today after wiping everything and seeing if that fixes anything long term in a week or so.
Edit #1: windows is reinstalled after fully wiping drives, I'm doing the windows built in ram check now. No issues so far but I also haven't put my GPU back in.

No custom numbers or players?!?
For those of y'all interested in a Adidas jersey, you can only get Peyton Manning or #1. I wanted to pick up a Bishop jersey so that's incredibly disappointing.
For all my upcoming CFB 27 Veer and Shoot nerds.
New Tennessee playbook has 13 new formations!!!
Some new solid pistol stuff we used against Florida and a few other teams, and a ton more gun stuff. We lost about 4 formations that mostly didn't have anything too great imo except a couple of rpos and like 2 pass plays, but I'm super excited to try out our playbook on ultrawide. It'll be nice to actually see my receivers lmao.
Go Vols, and have a good weekend y'all.

Hey y'all, hope your day is going well.
I want to preface this by just giving a heads up that the issue listed below I was able to solve the issue myself and I will go into how I ended up fixing it later, but that's not the reason for this post. With that being said, here we go.
This weekend I downloaded an AMD driver. Was a bit out of date but I've been moving and I only just got around to it. The only reason I did it to begin with is I was having some screen tearing issues in a 9070xt on an indie game displayed on my secondary monitor that should not have been taxing for my system at all.
For some reason after restarting as I always do after my driver updates the computer just shit itself. Stop code popped up and the system refused to restart or turn on past my motherboard warning message. I restarted again, different stop code, but still wouldn't go any farther after 15-30 minutes. About 2 hours of taking out components and verifying that it was probably the driver update corrupting my drives I took out my NVME's and called up a phone/PC repair shop about 30 minutes away with glowing reviews on Google. I tell them that I need 2 drives wiped/verified that they're still working, and 2 8gb thumb sticks. One loaded with a bootable windows 11 and one with my manufacturers BIOS so I can update that as well. The receptionist tells me that we can get the NVME verification on order, and I immediately was a bit confused because obviously that's just a system you can run on any old computer. The receptionist then gets me over with the guy that I was assuming would work on my drives, and I re explain everything and he says yeah swing on over we can get you all set up.
I drive 30 minutes, walk in, explain again what I need and he's acting like it's a 3-5 hour job and that he might need to fix something. I try to explain to him that all I need is to wipe/verify the drives are good off of windows built in software, and the only reason that I haven't done it myself is I don't have another system I can use and the blue screen prompt wasn't allowing me to wipe the drives and it was giving me an error message, but he still kept trying to throw buzzwords at me to make it sound more difficult than it was. Said it was a 4 part job and he'd have to pay his guy per hour (obviously this made sense to me, but in my head I'm thinking this should take 30 minutes to partition the drive, it's not like they were encrypted) and he bills me $450 minimum for 2 thumb drives, the downloads, and wiping/verifying the drives integrity.
Long story very short here, I'm planning on leaving his 5 star reviewed store a hyper critical review because this felt like highway robbery. I could completely understand if I didn't know what the issue was and he had to take my pc apart and troubleshoot (I already did that part) but all I needed was exactly what I asked. I ended up buying a 3 pack of 32 gb thumb drives for $25, and was able to brute force my way into scanning one of the drives enough times that it allowed me to wipe it, and downloading Windows off the cloud. (So I didn't even need the drives lol.)
Thanks for any advice, and apologies for the rant, I was pretty pissed. Just for reference best buy quoted me $200 for a top to bottom computer diagnostic, memory recovery, and fresh windows install.

Beta testing is apparently in progress. We'll see if this turns out to be true.
Do y'all think they'll do one for steam? Confused as to why it's been there on the Xbox app but not steam.
