Be Honest- how many of you ride with AirPods and/or with the Active Noise Cancellation on?

Wondering if this is a common alternative to helmet speakers/earplugs and what people have to say about their experience.

Front License Plate Suggestions?

2 years in on my 2025 X5 50e and I got stopped for no front plate (required in my state). The officer gave me one month to send proof of me mounting it before citing a ticket.

Front holder was not installed when I bought it and frankly, I just forgot about it until now. Yes at least one percent of me had at one point thought about not wanting to drill into the front bumper, and a lot of people in my area don’t run front plates.

Any suggestions on front plate install options? Should I just ask the dealer for one at my next oil change?

Decision Paralysis

Hey everyone,

Looking for advice to break my mental stalemate.

Background- grew up racing dirt bikes, transitioned to an BMW adventure bike and then Daytona 675R after college. Sold everything 3 years ago going on deployments in the Navy and finally back to a steady home life and wanting another street bike.

I absolutely LOVED the 675 inline 3 but with pins in my wrist I have been looking at naked bikes to find easier ergonomics. I tested the street triple, speed twin RS, S1000R, hornet 750 and MT-09. I felt that triumph was overpriced for what they were delivering but that the Honda and Yamaha left me feeling bored like they were kind of bland. I walked away amazed by the S1000R but hard to say yes to shelling out 20k+ for a toy and it definitely left me feeling sore just from a few test rides.

At this point I’ve exhausted what I thought I’d like and could use some advice! For what it’s worth, the speed twin 1200 RS really surprised me with how much I liked it- but again, overpriced and felt lacking at the top end.

Pic for tribute.

Is this a good deal for a 2025 Speed Twin 1200 RS?

Hey everyone!

Recently got in the market for a bike and my local dealer isn’t willing to negotiate. After fees and before tax they are asking 15.5$.

How does this compare to what other people have been seeing? This is a demo model with no special add-ons just a base RS in the primarily black color.

The ultimate “should I get _”?

Delete if not allowed

Hey everyone,

I’ve seen a lot of great stuff on here and I love that the bike community is usually one of “there aren’t really bad bikes, just different bikes”. That being said, it blows me away that new bikes that used to be maybe 10k$ at the premium level are reaching now the upper 20-30k$ ranges.

What’s your best advice for the people looking on here deciding whether or not to go for their dream bike vs trying to be reasonable with a cheaper or used version?

Sanity Check on a Street Triple

Hey everyone,

Sold my Daytona 675r about 6 years ago and finally looking to get back on a bike. I’ve missed it every day… I absolutely LOVED that bike and especially the engine, but, I have pins in my right wrist so the sitting position was tough on long rides.

Looking at the new street triples (or at least the newest gen) and just wondering what people who have ridden both would say? How is the naked bike on the highway or opening up on more twisty roads? Will I miss the tuck when the occasion arises?

Thanks! Old pic for tribute.

Effect of plunging before bed?

A little research seems to dissuade me from plunging before bed or at least later in the evening. Specifically, I’m trying to build muscle and fix my sleep routine after years of being overworked at my job. What I’ve read says plunging too soon after a workout can diminish muscle recovery but plunging too close to bed time can diminish sleep.

I have been plunging first thing in the morning for about a month and absolutely love it, but starting to lose the high and spend most of the day looking forward to the next morning’s plunge.

Does anyone plunge at night and have tips or experience to share with regard to muscle recovery and sleep?

My gf (28F) and I (29M) are moving closer to an engagement. What resources/books/processes should we look into for couples counseling and compatibility/growing the relationship?

Background- Her and I have been dating for several years, at first on and off before committing to a long term relationship which has become long distance over the last few years. We are getting to a point logistically where we could get married in the next 1-2 years as things have slowed down with life/work. We also expect to be living in the same place again 2 -3 years from now. (Getting married before then would be ideal for family planning before she turns 35)

More importantly, we have been able to spend some significant time together and I feel that our relationship is very strong+experiencing the day to day living together and working around/as a team with each other’s schedules was both a good and happy experience compared to just weekend vacations in the past to see each other in more of a honeymoon mindset.

She is Catholic, I am no longer Catholic. We both agree it will be important to make an effort for pre-marriage counseling as an important step in building our relationship for the long term. The pre-Cana may be logistically challenging so she has agreed for us to look for other options- even before our engagement.

What is your advice? Any books to work through together? Counseling systems/apps? General relationship advice for our stage in life or topics to discuss?

Recovery tracker?

Does anyone have a fun recovery tracker?

I love that polar plunge has an app for controlling the chiller but the tracker might be one of the worst app functions I’ve ever seen. It constantly closes or restarts randomly/ if you don’t log it right away while you’re dripping wet it often times out on me, and generally lacks any features.

If not, what features would you all look for in an app we could vibe code together? Thinking a general recover system for saunas, spas, cold therapy etc.

I’m an idiot

Hey everyone,

I’m dumb and got so wrapped up in covering windows and doors with plastic that I forgot to set edging tape while restaining my deck. I was using a sprayer from Home Depot this time for the spindles and railings so I was very excited and got carried away with the roller.

Long story short- has anyone done this before and is willing to give me tips on removal once you’re done ridiculing this amateur? Before and after pic for tribute.

EDIT- Thanks for the insight (and especially the baby poop roasting… well deserved)! Not very handy, obviously. This is my first house with a deck and didnt bother to learn about it before buying. Soooooo, for everyone asking about the wood, no idea. Sounds like PT Cedar is popular up in the PNW. As for the stain, it is Behr’s Cedar neutral tone semi-transparent. I used it once before, 4 years ago when I bought the house and it came out like a normal brown deck, hardly any poop. Don’t know what happened this time. Big lesson for other newbie’s is i actually wouldnt recommend the sprayer. I did about half the deck with that and the other half all by hand brushes. I think the brushed part even after I went over the sprayed part with a brush while it was still wet. Worth the extra time IMO.

Contrast Therapy Advice

Hey everyone, been dunking for a few weeks now and absolutely love it. Tonight I tried my first contrast between the hot tubs and cold plunge.

Google and AI have a lot of different takes so I figured I’d ask the experts! What do you guys recommend?

Hot first? Time periods for each? Experience and benefits of ending with each? Gotchas or things to know?

Condensation or leaky valve?

Polar Dive max with the pro chiller finally came, after setting up I was pretty confident the valves were not leaking but after a few days I noticed this. The metal is cold to the touch (pretty obvious) and I haven’t noticed a crazy drain from the tub.

Anyone else deal with this and have a solution?
