Bruce Robinson on screenshot (male friendship)

From about 18 minutes in. Talking about the holiday from hell he had with his flatmate Michael Feast plus Vivian McKerrell. He sounds a bit frailer than I remember him.

Anyhoo, most men bond over things like quoting lines from films like Withnail and I.

Yeah, 'but once you start the fire, Malc, and we didn't start the fire, it's always burning since the world's been turning' et cetera

Snep book, Ghost of the Mountains by Kulbhushansingh Suryawanshi

- sneps could easily be called "Rock leopards" because “ochre-and-dust-colour coat with its irregular rosettes looks exactly like a rock covered with lichens”.

Summer of '76: Away from it all

Currently on iPlayer as part of a themed night of programmes from the summer of 1976.

Herbie and June (edited) Harris have both recently been made redundant from their jobs. They have 3 kids and the eldest has just left school at 16 and is looking for work too.

It's "shipyard fortnight" coming up where practically everyone connected to the ship building industry takes their annual leave on Tyneside where they live. They are determined to at least have a holiday to park their problems for a while.

That's it. It's following them on holiday. Or the preparations.

If you pitched this now it'd go on channel 5, you'd get a snarky voiceover and there'd be irritating comedy soundtracks to document one of them falling over. This doesn't have that.
