Team for HM?

Just got done with CS, I loved it so much and I'm ready to go into HM next but from my understanding they have the same digimon roster. If that's correct I'm unsure of what digimon to use so I figured I'd just full on ask y'all and see what you guys think.

I used Lilithmon, Mastemon and Rosemon BM for CS because they all worked really well together and ended up being quite strong. Rosemon was my starter, Lilithmon is just one of my favorites and Mastemon made for good support.

I would like to use my starter in HM all the way through and it looks like I can turn Betamon into one of my favorites, Rusttyrannomon, so I think I would like to use him but filling out the other 2 slots is where I'm stuck. If it's anything like CS then someone like Lilithmon who has int/def ignoring skills will be very important to have but I can't figure out which data or vaccine type to put in that slot, I'd rather not reuse the same digimon as my CS playthrough too.

So can y'all give me some good mega data or vaccine types to go with Rusttyrannomon?

Haute 42 not working on ps5

I've got the brookwingman fgc converter and it says PS5 on the top of the screen but I can't get any of my inputs to actually have any effect on the console itself. Nothing seems to register. Any idea why and how to fix?

Titamon or Minervamon? CS1

I was planning on my end game team to be Rosemont BM, Lilithmon and Minervamon but maybe going for Titamon would be better instead of Minervamon. I'm unsure because I saw that Titamon gets a defense ignoring attack and apparently those are incredibly strong

Hardcore mode is done!

I parried my way through expert and hardcore with my big ass sword and now I can say I'm done with this game for the time being.

Hardcore is some proper bullshit! I swear even the slightest mistake means goodbye stamina and goodbye health bar. If I didn't get good at reflection then I'm dead. It didn't feel like enemies hit that much harder than expert but rather the stamina drain was ridiculous.

That said, I loved it! I loved how even minor enemy encounters had me thinking strategically, throw a javelin at the archer enemy before engaging and keep track of all the enemies I'm fighting. I love not seeing healthbars, it made every boss fight feel that much more rewarding and surprising when I finally surpassed them. I loved the camera angle change too, it made the game feel more tense and cinematic.

Top 3 hardest fight for me were Ozma, Jellyfish Witch and Elermain however you spell it. They pushed me to the breaking point in different ways. Elerbitch was the first major roadblock for me because of how it's just gg if I run out of stamina but I can hardly ever hit her back because her gameplan is the same as mine, block and parry. Jellybitch made me press the dodge button, which I really hadn't done up until that point or really that much afterwards. Ozma is just really difficult, it took me the longest to beat him by far, 6 hours on that fight. Honorable mention to the rapier girl but I was able to shut her down due to reflect, that was just a matter of learning the fight and her zoner phase was surprisingly easy.

Favorite fight is Scalpel, just bullying the poor guy with Reflection is really funny. Then his phase 2 hits and it's running around with the occasional parry until he dies but I really like that fight.

Oh I forgot that phantom form and spirit of avarice are also not allowed and I didn't feel a difference compared to expert because I didn't use them back then anyways. I wanted the achievement for no spirit back in expert so I got that then and phantom form felt like a DPS loss compared to my big sword.

Overall as someone who has only played bloodborne, Elden Ring and dropped Fallen Feathers, this game is amazing. Solid 8.5-9/10 game. High contender to be my favorite game I'll have played all year

Best way to raise a specific stat? CS1

I'm in chapter 6 and I accidentally zoned out while watching a movie and grinded to level 50 ultimates for my team when in the AC unit with the gear finding side quest. Since I'm so close to mega level, I got curious and checked what stats I would need to digivolve to them and I'm missing about 40 points of speed for my Digitamamon to turn into the Minervamon I'd like it to become. Do I get access to stat increasing items at some point to make it easier or will I just have to level up about 30-40 more times just to get those stat points?

I'm loving this game - a small review (probably some spoilers)

I should probably start with the fact that I've only beaten bloodborne and elden ring as the only other souls games I've played. I've tried several other soulslike games but this one just feels different.

Even when I beat the game on expert last week I still wanted more from it and have started my hardcore run, I'll still use great sword like the first playthrough because I love it so much.

Hardcore is kinda kicking me in though, the final boss on expert took me about 30 minutes to beat, took me 4 tries total, also got true ending so there was the extra phase. Viper in hardcore took me a bit over an hour to actually beat and I didn't even count the attempt number.

I'm loving this game, it's looking like it will be my personal favorite game I've played all year and I can't wait to continue to struggle against bosses that clearly let me get away with too much in expert. The great sword feels amazing, it scratches a different itch than my monster hunter great sword does and it feels amazing to hit all the parry and reflects. The game is rewarding, challenging and just overall some really amazing combat!

I don't know much about the MMO source material but the story is actually enjoyable, I never understood the hype behind doomed yaoi until now lol. The character designs are amazing, everyone looks pretty and attractive.

Level design, specifically side quest design is one of the game's lower points. Having to go through the same place you were just in or revisit it repeatedly for side quests gets a little old but they don't last long enough to feel like a drag at least. The end game levels are definitely the highlight though. Getting to see the capital ruined as people tremble in fear is really cool actually, especially when chaos infected civilians hide in with the regular folk.

THANK THE DEVS FOR ARACHNOPHOBIA MODE!

I probably wouldn't have been able to experience the game without it. I have a paralyzing fear of bugs and being able to turn them into rock monsters with masks was actually really helpful. It didn't stop the ceiling dropping assholes from startling me nor did it make the sound effects the spiders have not give me the chills but it did make the game playable for someone with my level of fear. More games need this kind of option.

Tl;dr the game is really amazing and addicting. I give it a 8.5/10 or maybe even a 9/10

Tier list of my weapon enjoyment

After 400 hours I decided to make a tier list of how much I personally enjoyed every weapon and how much I vibe with them. Really, the only one I've truly come to not enjoy playing is LS because I'm just not a fan of how it feels

Top of the list is of course GS, I love it so much. HH and Lance are next cause I really enjoy their playstyles, if GS wasn't my beloved, I'd be a HH main and Lance is always fun. I didn't like IG until the change to its charge attack and now I enjoy it quite a lot and use it regularly. I like both bow guns a lot but I vastly enjoy normal shot gameplay over any other kind so if I pick them, it's not for a fast hunt but for the feel of the hunt.

Everything in neutral is stuff I've used a decent amount and while I do like the way they feel to play and may use them every now and then, I'd rather pick something else.

I don't vibe with savage axe and saed just feels sad to use, if it was better then I'd rank it in the enjoy tier. Hammer and GL are also weapons that I don't dislike using, I just don't vibe with them much.

LS feels off to me no matter how many times I try to figure it out, no matter how many hours I put it, the weapon just isn't for me.

I made this cause I can't sleep, it's not a "how good is each weapon" it's a "after 400 hours and using each weapon a decent amount how do I personally feel about them in regards to my gameplay." Although in hindsight maybe I'd move swaxe down to not vibe? I'll have to play with swaxe for 10 more hours or so to decide on that, for now I feel neutral about it

Would this leverless be good for RoA2?

I got this a couple of days ago cause it was on sale and had good reviews, its model is Haute42. I got it mainly for other fighting games but I was wondering if I could set it up for rivals decently enough and how that would even work. I won't even begin to claim to understand how I would DI without a stick. It should arrive sometime by the end of the week so I figured I'd ask beforehand on how I'd even begin to set up a control set up for this to give it a shot.

My hands can't quite move as fast as they used to so maybe learning how to play with this will fix that issue somewhat.

Yatch Club and Aether Studios partnership is really cool

So Yatch has 2 games essentially, every version of Shovel Knight and Mina the Hollower and Aether Studios has 2 games where guest characters fit in well as hype announcements. Both Shovel Knight and Mina are also extremely beloved indie games while Rivals is too with both R1 and R2.

So how cool is it that Mina came out not long ago and we've already got it confirmed that she's going to be in R2 when they got shovel knight in R1! It's the kind of thing that makes me really glad to be a fan of both developers when they've got such a cool partnership over guest characters. Like this is so well timed, I wonder if the Aether devs were in discussion about it before Mina the Hollower was actually fully released.

Not a salt post, not even specifically about matches or the games either, just a post to talk about the wholesome deal between 2 indie companies that genuinely love making games that people enjoy and love to spread that joy to as many people as possible

The joy in this community is something to be studied

I'm as ecstatic about the th6 remake as anyone else but can we take a moment to talk about how our reaction as a community is compared to others?

I'm not trying to bash other communities and so I won't name any but you'll see a series get a game announcement and it feels like half the fans of it are finding something to complain about. You'll see the dumbest complaints you'll ever read to some that actually kind of make sense. That's not the case for th6.

When I say it's the first time I've seen twitter not having a single thing to complain about, I mean it. All of us are celebrating this announcement as something monumental, because it is. We all have our now hopeful eyes on the future and it's something to rejoice in. I'm really glad Touhou exists and I wouldn't be who I am today without it. It fills my heart with joy to see that not only is there something this massive being announced for a series I hold dearly, but to also see so many other fans forget all the crappy things about life and just be happy that Touhou is getting some love.

I put game discussion as the tag for this post because the focal point is the Touhou 6 remake but it does just sort of boil down to my love of the series and the community we have as we all just have a blast at this wonderful news. Mods just like change the tag or something if it's the wrong one, I wasn't sure what to put for it in the end and made a guess

Some questions before I buy th19

I've slowly but surely been buying all the games I can on steam and saw that th19 has multiplayer when I tried the demo earlier.

My main question is if it's decent enough to play with a friend every now and then because so far the only game I have to play when one of my friends comes over is sonic racing and it'd be nice to get something else that isn't going to cost me a lot but I'll play on my own and with a friend.

Speaking of which, how is it overall? The reviews on steam had said it's unfinished but th20 came out so does that mean th19 is completed or did ZUN leave it half finished?

I'll probably get it regardless but the game seemed a little confusing. Maybe it's because I haven't played PoFV yet but the gameplay seemed like a 1v1 against a CPU and I couldn't figure out how to send attacks to their side, just focused on not getting hit on my own end. I've played 6, 10, 11, 15 and 18 but it's clear this game will be quite different from the rest of those, it's even got a charge shot which I couldn't quite figure out the use of using that over regular shot

Touhou Music and AI in current day

Solid chance this gets taken down but it feels like a discussion we need to have at some point as fans of a series with such iconic music.

I've been thinking about this for a while but Touhou is a massive target for AI music "artists." There are hundreds of videos made over nearly 20 years that have all kinds of Touhou music letting people train their models on. There are songs in nearly every genre available for whatever they might want. There are already a couple channels on YouTube that do this and all the comments are about how great the music is while few seem to actually call them out on using ai and trying to hide it.

I'm trying not to be biased but it's hard when I'm pretty against using ai to make your music when music is something that originates from \*human\* emotion. It feels like it's an infringement upon ZUN and the amazing music he created while also abusing his copyright rules he has for the series.

Touhou's music is iconic, it's got that feel to it that no other series truly replicates, it's the reason I and so many others discovered the series and went down the rabbit hole in the first place. Everyone here has their favorite songs from Touhou and their favorite music circles. There are still new real human creators popping up every now and then too. New songs that come out aren't all going to be AI but it won't be that far into the future where many of them are.

Stopping people from making AI music isn't something that's possible and I'd prefer against actively attacking the people who use AI for music, that is something I'd like to make clear. AI making its way into all forms of art is inevitable because some people will look at it and think it's an easy money trick, that's just the world we live in now, fighting it isn't exactly possible at this point.

One of the biggest things with AI music is we shouldn't have to listen to a new artist and immediately question if they are even human but that's not always easy. If you like a song despite it being AI made, that's fine, you do you, I'm not trying to attack anyone here, just bring up a touchy topic that shouldn't be swept under the rug. There should be something we can do as fans of the series in order to at least try and protect the integrity of the work made by other fans.

I know there's almost certainly no way this post doesn't get taken down because it's probably quite controversial but where else would a serious discussion about the future creativity of the series and fans of it can be had. Sorry if the post is a bit messy with the wording, I'm not usually one to write up a lot like this and my thoughts tend to be a bit messy.

The post's tag is also probably wrong but I wasn't 100% sure which tag to use tbh

Going to add this cute Suika I found so the post isn't just all doom and gloom. Also cause I love Suika https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/144661652

Had to redo the post because I didn't fully understand rule 7, my bad
