Looking to replace my Canon Powershot, what would you recommend as equivalent to it?

It was a Canon Powershot SD700 IS. Has been a great camera over the years but I dropped it when the zoom was out and now it doesn't focus so am looking for a replacement but I'm clueless about what's going on in cameras now.

Really for the type of pictures/video I take it was fine and quite robust to have lasted this long. Seems this type of camera is not as common nowadays, is there any you can recommend? Build quality is important, equivalent to the one I've had. Thanks!

Budget: $300 USD

Country: USA

Condition: New

Type of Camera: point and shoot

Intended use: Photography & video.

End use: Personal use.

If photography: what style: General use

If video what style: General use

What features do you absolutely need: Basic, what the Powershot has.

What features would be nice to have: Basic

Portability: As portable as the Powershot

Cameras you're considering: Don't know as not finding many point and shoots.

Cameras you already have: Powershot

Notes: None.

They are out of stock right now so not able to test out and would have to prepay for them to order it. I'm thinking a 58cm but not sure.

I have family coming in a month so don't want to start in on a whole perio treatment right away.

Are there any temporary fixes that I could use to hold me over until they leave in July?

▲ 13 r/Beans

Recently, I've gotten into these large lima beans but after soaking them overnight--removing all the loose skins--cooking them and after straining I'm left with a handful of mushed beans.

Now, I do want them mushed and strained of any excess liquid as they taste similar to mashed potatoes but better.

Problem is I lose a lot of the beans to the liquid, and I've never had this issue with any other beans.

Is there a way to prepare these large lima beans and retain more of the beans?
