2022 YES. PYL vs 2023 Bataleon Goliath vs 2026 Rome Warden

Hello all! I'm a beginner-intermediate resort rider on the East coast. Conditions are a mix of pow, groomed and icy. I currently have a 20 yo full camber Sims Destiny, I want a new board with better turn initiation and that can help me improve my carving skills. I also want to be able to go from a sportier carve to more mellow turns.

My top options currently are;

2022 YES. PYL for 200 CAD (I might be able to pair it with Union Force bindings)

2023 Bataleon Goliath w/ Blaster AW for 400 CAD

2026 Rome Warden w/ Ride C-6 for 660 CAD

I'm sure any of these options will feel better than what I currently have, but what would be your pick?

Opinions on Korua Café Racer?

Hello Shredditors! I am finally ready to move on from my first board, a 2006 Sims Destiny 157 (10mm full camber, true twin and 120cm EE). I've looked at plenty of options and the Jones Mountain Twin would probably be the most obvious answer, but the Korua Café Racer just sounds a lot more fun. The only thing holding me back is that I'm seeing some mixed reviews and would like some opinions if that's the right board for me.

-Beginner / intermediate, I ride a little bit of black

-I only ride resorts on the Canadian East coast, so it's always a little bit of everything (light pow, corduroy and chunky / icy stuff)

-I want to be able to go from a sporty carve to a more mellow ride, no tricks or park

-I would like a board that I can ride for longer, my current one feels heavy to steer and gets chattery/unstable quickly

What are your thoughts? TIA

Gshock G-9000 parts

I wondered why there was a gap in my watch band, turns out the screws are pretty f*cked 😅 I was hoping to also find some parts to mod it, but couldn't find anything from regular platforms. Where do you guys buy stuff?

Rash spots in the beard and on the cheekbones overnight

Hi everyone, 37M and it's currently summer where I live. I'll try to see a dermatologist about this, but hopefully someone can give me some advice in the meantime. I woke up this morning with these red spots, it doesn't hurt but the skin does feel irritated a bit.

I doubt it's an allergic reaction and I have been more stressed than usual last week but that would be a 5-6 day delayed reaction. I've stopped showering daily a while ago and instead do it when I do sports every 2-3 days and I use a gentle cleaner (house brand cerave face cleaner). Any advice?

8x9 lean-to shed storage

This is the shed I built 2 years ago with the help of this sub, nothing too fancy but still plenty functional. I had people ask how everything fit inside a smaller shed like this and I thought it was the perfect time to take a pic with the 4 mountain bikes ha ha.

Is there something wrong with my Scampuss

It looks a bit different and it's not really doing anything, it's very soft though :)

Tensei Slime stuck on loading screen

Hi folks! Anyone else having issues with Tensei Slime specifically? I'm watching on a TLC smart TV, I tried to launch the show this morning, but it's stuck on the spinning wheel animation. I cleared the cache and the data and restarted the TV. Jujutsu Kizen works just fine, but I can't watch Tensei Slime, I tried episode 55 and 56 with the same result

CR-Z and mountain bike

Maybe next time I'll borrow my partner's Sportwagen 😅 Still nice that you can fit a 29 inch wheel MTB if you need to (Ibis Ripley AF 2022)

To picture frame or not?

I'm planning a deck with a PT top. Is there an advantage to picture framing your deck other than looks? I'm thinking the end grain might be a little more protected than the elements, but then again dirt might collect between the boards and hold moisture... Definitely more cutting with picture framing though. Maybe I'm overthinking it. Thoughts?

Deck drainage systems

I'm currently planning my new deck, nothing too fancy, just a 12x14 rectangle in PT wood. I would like to keep water away from the footing and have some dry storage beneath.

I've looked at several different options, but I am debating whether to put the system on top or below the frame? I'm a bit worried that an above frame system might be too finicky and could end up making things worse by trapping humidity if not 100% done right (especially with a PT deck top)

I'm considering Goberco (but you basically have to slope the frame) https://goberco.com/pages/deck-drain-membrane-install EPDM pond liner https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFjK6ANYLW0 or solid panels like soffit or corrugated platic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EJdQXs6cUo

Any advice, tips, etc. is appreciated! TIA

Gyuki Hamburger recipe

This was the most frustrating fight so far... I watched several guides on how to beat him but I still struggled. Summoning help didn't really help either because he just becomes more mobile. Here's my personal recipe for beating him:

Ingredients:

1 pair of Tonfas

2 Sloth Amulets

4 Raijin Feathers

1 Thunder Amulet

Sub 30% armor weight and mid stance

Instructions:

  1. Apply thunder amulet to the tonfas

  2. Drop down in the arena, lock the camera on his face and hit him with both sloth amulets

  3. Run to his side (2nd leg) and start swinging

  4. When he attacks either dodge or block

  5. When he's out of Ki use the raijin feathers

  6. Rinse and repeat until you can grapple his face

  7. Enjoy :)

Did he just call me a lightweight!?

I had decent light gear so I decided to try out a minus 30% weight armor. I can't say that I see a big difference, but it seems to be working well so far!
