Hi everyone! I’m a Moroccan physiotherapist and I recently finished my Master’s. I’m seriously considering moving to Germany to work as a physio and would love to hear from people who are actually working there, especially foreign-trained physios.
I’m learning German and looking into the Anerkennung process. I’ve also found a recruitment agency that offers German courses and helps with recognition/job placement, but I’m unsure whether using an agency is worth it or whether I should do everything independently.
I’d really appreciate honest experiences about the reality of working as a physio in Germany — salary after taxes, working hours, holidays, workload, and opportunities in hospitals, rehab, home care, sports, etc.
If you’re a foreign-trained physio: How was your recognition process? Did you have to do an Anpassungslehrgang? And would you recommend moving to Germany if you could do it again?
Also, what’s something you wish you knew before moving?
