Intersex Timeline

My story is a little different than most.

I’m not trans. I’m intersex. I was assigned male at birth, but at 35 years old I discovered I was actually born intersex with Turner syndrome mosaicism. Decisions were made for me at birth that I couldn’t control.

My diagnosis explained a lifetime of feeling different and completely changed how I understood my life. There isn’t an intersex timelines Reddit, hope you all don’t mind me joining.

💛 Genetically female. Assigned male at birth
🧬 Intersex (Turner syndrome mosaicism)
🥴 Nearly died of endocrine failure 2022
💉 Started HRT: June 2023
🏥 GRS: June 2026
✨ 37 months from beginning HRT to completing surgery

This community gave me hope long before I understood my own diagnosis. Watching people become their authentic selves made me believe that maybe one day I could too.

Happy to answer any questions. Feel free to follow my socials to see my story @stephkenziex

Dad’s, call your kid

I just wanted to say to the dads of trans kids, (in my situation specifically being a trans girl I’m really close to my dad, he’s super protective, I’m a daddy’s girl. He totally forgot the past and embraced the now. My parents are divorced, I still see both of them and have great communication with them.)

Anyways. I’m recovering from bottom surgery and yesterday my dad just out of the blue called me and said “(name) I’m so proud of you, you’re doing a great job in your transition journey, you’re beautiful, I love you so much and you’ve got this and to don’t stop going forward.”

It just meant the world to me and I cried after that call because words can carry so much weight whether good or bad.

I’m sure there are so many amazing dads in this group but no matter the age of your child, telling them you’re proud of them and that we’re doing great can mean the world because this journey and our stories are not always easy.

Okay that’s all. Thanks for reading! 😭💗

Thankful

So here I am. In my recovery room, post GRS with my amazing and so handsome boyfriend next to me. Over a year ago when I booked my first consult I was alone and figured I’ve have no one.

Now I’m here at the day of, post op, the evil thing between my legs is gone and I’ve got the man of my dreams next to me. He is so insanely accepting, so affirming, so kind, so gorgeous.

He’s never dated anyone like me before but when we met we agreed to just let the instant connection we had grow and be open to whatever happens and now we’re here.

Flash forward and we have our first house together, life is simple, we’re madly in love, we never fight, we never argue. He never pressured me to do anything I don’t want to do. He’s seen me naked before but never asked to do anything with me with that area and he even would say that a penis is not his thing. lol.

I never wanted to try anal, neither did he and he’s been fine waiting for me to be cleared post op. Literally the sweetest man ever. He’s such a man too. In every way.

We have our own community, we have friends, we do things together that interest us. He supports things I’m interested in and I do for him, too.

We just have such a pure love and we talk about the day we will get married in reality. His parents love and accept me.

I think Im going to go mostly stealth in public and he accepts me with that.

I’m just saying all this that when you least expect it and get those days where you feel like you’ll never find the one, keep looking because you will find your soulmate and when you do, life is so insanely easy. Don’t give up girls. If it hasn’t happened yet, keep searching. Your turn will come. I’m just sharing the truth that it is possible.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Thank you

Cisparent group

I’m a trans girl (kid) who has grown up in this group. The once kid now an adult. But I’m always a kid at heart. Okay I’m still a kid in my mind, never grow up! Anyways. Today feels like the end of one story and the start of another.

To this group, I say thank you. I literally just cried as I wrote that. As a trans child who is now an adult (okay that’s weird to say that word again lol - crazy how fast time went by), your stories have really helped bring me comfort, bring my mom (who reads posts here but she never posts) comfort. This group helped me see that there are other parents out there trying to figure it out with their kids too. I feel like I grew up in this group. Reading the posts here for years and years, your stories gave me comfort, helped my mom understand how other parents share in this similar journey.

I post this to the other parents to show proof that your kiddos will be okay. That the stress, the unknown, the fears, they’ll all work themselves out.

Today I’m now awake after having my bottom surgery. The years of pain are gone. This took years of waiting. I don’t take this moment granted for a second. I have friends who can’t have their surgeries due to insurance issues, I have friends who can’t come out to their families, I have friends who are out full time and have all the support in the world and I’ve got friends that are stealth and have had all the support in the world.
Just know, when your kiddos feel alone, tell them it’ll get better, just give it time. When my dad would say the days are long and years are short I didn’t get it, now I do.

When your little babies say they’re the opposite gender, just let them be them. Please let them explore. I know time is hard to wait for sometimes but it’s worth it. I blindsided my family and we figured it out.

What does life look like at this point? I’m a daughter who is loved by her parents. Yes there are some family members that still don’t get it. But the ones that do are the biggest cheerleaders. I’ve got an amazing boyfriend who I’m deeply in love with who is fully accepting of me. He’s never dated someone like me before but he was fully willing to try and I’m so glad he did. He saw me as the straight woman that I am. He and I have been together for a bit and we moved in together, my parents are so accepting of him. Our families are so accepting of us and we’re making it happen!

I’m involved with a very accepting and affirming church, I love Jesus, I have amazing friends, I’m in some great online community groups.

I’ll still be in this group, I’ll still read, still contribute when I can. But gosh this group helped me keep it together so many times.

Parents, please love and support your kids. Hug them. Be there for them. What’s incredible is how fast time goes by. Gosh I grew up so fast and this journey has matured me beyond my years.

And to the kids here, it’ll get better. I promise there is light at the end of the tunnel. Don’t give up. Tell your kids to never give up. There were so many times I thought I’d never get through all of this. And yet here I am living a life that I could only dream of.

On a side note on the way to Tampa for my surgery my boyfriend and I stopped in Orlando at Hollywood studios and we saw the pride wall mural and watching so many kids proudly take photos smiling ear to ear as their parents took photos made me cry.

Much love.

Not connecting

Just got a portal. Paired to device, settings are paired, system in on at home. Connected to hotel WiFi (phone hotspot won’t connect?) and it won’t connect to PS5? Any suggestions? Is it the network?

Holy Spirit Moment

I attend a very open & affirming church. It’s a place where the beliefs are simple that Jesus is the Son of God, and that He sent the Holy Spirit to be with us when he ascended to heaven in the book of Acts. In our church you can be whomever you are. My church knows my story, there is some that I’m fully open with and some I’m not. My GRS is coming up this Wednesday. After the church service today our pastor called the church to the front and everyone laid hands on me and prayed for the surgery, the doctors, the nurses, my recovery and they called the Holy Spirit to come upon me and protect me. During the prayer they reminded me that I am a daughter of Christ. It was such a holy moment and one I will remember forever. I was bawling my eyes out at the end of it. It was just so much love and power!!

It’s proof that Jesus is for everyone, Jesus loves you just as you are and God created you for who you are meant to be!! Let the Spirit lead your life!!
