The mobile "Egg House" by Dai Haifei

The mobile "Egg House" by Dai Haifei

The "Egg House" is a project by the architect Dai Haifei. He built it in Beijing in 2010 when he couldn't afford an apartment on his salary from his first job freshly after graduation.

The egg House is kind of a mix between an actual solution for his issue (he did live in it for a few months), and also a statement on the housing market.

Even though the context is kind of serious and it wouldn't actually be very fun to live in, I think it looks soo cozy haha. Especially with the aspect of it being supposed to be placed in public somewhere and overgrown with grass so it's hidden. I love the thought of just cozying up in there and watching a movie while it's dark in the city outside and people walk past it, just thinking it's some kind of park ornament.

The ancient underground city of "Derinkuyu"

Derinkuyu is a up to 2800 year old, massive underground city in Cappadocia, Turkey. If reaches down 85 meters (280 feet) and has 18 levels.

It is was probably built to protect the citizens of the areafrom invading armies and persecution. Among other things, it included: Domestic chambers that functioned as homes for individual families, Stables for livestock, lots of storage for preserved food, wineries and oil presses, a school and a church.

It also had ventilation and access to water through deep wells.

"ROC Monitoring Post" by Bob Marshall

A bunch of these were built in the UK during the cold war. They were meant to be used to eventually monitor nuclear attacks and pass on the information via tele-talk system.

"Iron Age Roundhouse" by Bob Marshall

I suppose you can't really see much of the scary outside, but I just feel like during the iron age, the outside was always a bit scary😅

My absolute favourite comfort Youtube Channel: Camping with Steve

If you love the vibe of this sub, I think you might also like one of my favourite YouTube channels: Camping with Steve!

He does a lot of cozy, slow-paced camping videos but the thing I'd recommend the most is his "Stealth Camping" series! As you can see in the collage lol, he does crazy stuff like camping in a fake bear trap, camping inside the bushes at a roundabout or highway meridian and building cool hidden forts (like the one under a bridge)

I looove when he builds a cozy hidden campsite somewhere and even cooks a little meal in there. It just has this feeling of "haha, I'm not supposed to be here but I'm all comfy and nobody can find me here"

He's also just a funny and likeable guy, so it's great comfort content :)

Cozy-fied Storm Shelters

Let me say first: I do NOT envy anybody who lives in a tornado area. I am very grateful to live in a place where I don't need to worry about losing my home to a storm and I feel incredibly sorry for anybody who has lost something or someone that way.

But i just love seeing pictures of decorated storm shelters online because I adore that people try to make the best of a scary situation. I hope everyone who experiences a tornado gets to stay safely and somewhat cozily hunkered down in their shelters and come out to their house still undamaged🙏
