Fleetwood & St Anne’s trip bank holiday weekend

I’ve booked to go Blackpool for the bank holiday weekend (Friday 28th - Monday 31st) August because Pleasure Beach has their twilight thrills evening on the Saturday. Furthermore I would like to also check out Fleetwood and St Anne’s during my trip on the Flyde coast but I’m not sure when the best days of the weekend to go excluding the Saturday of course. I have done Blackpool many times for a place I adore lots and happy to explore other places. I have a concession bus pass which will help my travelling, but what day would be the best to check out Fleetwood & St Anne’s?

Thank you.

Universal Orlando recap - May 2026

As some of you might know back in May 2026, I went to Orlando for the first time to celebrate my 30th birthday out there, of which I had an incredible time. I would like to thank everyone on this subreddit for being so helpful as it truly was a holiday of a lifetime.

I checked out the two OG parks where were Studios and Islands of Adventure, both two different places with some awesome coasters. Whether it was taking a trip to Diagon Alley or riding the Velocicoaster 10 times, I enjoyed myself and lived for the moment.

I was fortunate to be one of the last people to watch the Horror Make Up show that closed this week showcasing all the tricks they used for some iconic movies we all know and love. Plus, I popped into my first Bubba Gump Shrimp place which was everything Forrest Gump!

I visited the largest Hard Rock Cafe in the world full of world-class music memorabilia spanning decades of incredible artists with their original pieces of equipment that was so cool to look at. They even had a spinning Cadillac on top of the bar!

Checked out international drive with so many restaurants and places to check out including the World’s Largest McDonald’s and a pinball arcade with some Stranger Things theming thrown in! Also went on the big wheel overlooking the landscape of Orlando!

Checked out the awesome Epic Universe containing Dark Universe, the Ministry of Magic, Isle of Berk where Dragons and Vikings live and Super Mario World! This place has potential for expansion which I look forward to seeing updates on!

My feet were sore after walking 20 to 30 thousand steps a day and the amount of food I’ve eaten whilst on vacation is insane that has been so worth it! Until next time 😀

Where does it come from?

So I’m just watching This Morning and they got a three part competition on where you could win £40,000 cash, a campervan and a £15,000 TUI gift card. Now that sounds quite ambitious for a prize draw, and my question is where do they get all their money from?

I’m genuinely curious

August bank holiday plans

I’ve just booked a solo trip to Blackpool for August bank holiday weekend (Friday to Monday) and would like to ask what’s on that weekend and what it will be like? I will be staying at Raffles Hotel.

Solo night out in Nottingham recommendations

I’m in Nottingham for the night after attending the Nottingham Video Games Expo event and would like to have a night out in the city centre but I’m on my own. I’m in my 30s and would like to ask if most bars are friendly to solo travellers like myself. What do you recommend?

I’m staying at the Ibis hotel near Red Dog just to give a rough location

Channel trailer copyright free music

I’ve reached the stage after 8 years of streaming on Twitch that I’m in the position to make my first channel trailer to draw audiences to my channel, I’ve got an idea of what clips to add as well as have CapCut for special effects to make the trailer stand out, however I need some music to go with it.

What is a good copyright free music source that you use to put onto your channel trailer videos? I’m looking for an electronic style beat.

Bus service from the park to uttoexter or derby

Does anyone have the timetable for when the bus picks up people from towers to head back to Uttoexter or Derby? I haven’t got a clue what it’s called

Weather warnings

I’m going to Alton Towers tomorrow (24th) for a day trip and seen there are red weather warnings in place within the area, have bought my tickets as well as the train but I’ve checked the website and they’ve said nothing about what the park is doing to tackle the extreme heat we’re having. So I ask in here, will they be open still tomorrow?

Toad Prince defeat

After many blood, sweat and tours I finally killed the Toad Prince which was the hardest boss I’ve ever defeated in a video game. Now I can enjoy the DLCs fully

Queuing times and bag recommendation

I will be going to Alton Towers next Wednesday (24th June) and would like to ask what the crowd levels will be like? I haven’t been for quite a long time and keen to ride the new Nemesis track as well as the other classics. Also, I will be bringing a small backpack for me - is that suitable for ride lockers before you go onto the ride? Or is a bumbag more suitable?

Plans for Friday night on my weekend trip in September

I’ve recently booked a trip to Newcastle in late September (25 - 27) for a weekend trip and for the Second Speed techno event in Gateshead. I will be staying at the Leonardo Quayside hotel and I’m looking for places to go on the Friday night.

I will be on my own and would like to check out the pubs and bars that your city has to offer. What can you recommend?

Travel and crowd question for Wednesday 23rd June

So I’m planning on doing a solo trip to Alton Towers on Wednesday 24th June after not being since 2019 as I really want to check out the Nemesis theming overhaul. I would be travelling from Northampton to the park via public transport and would like to ask what are the best options to get there?

Also what would the crowd levels be like?

What do you do with your free time during unemployment?

Since December of last year, I was recently made redundant from my previous job due to AI taking away my responsibilities as a data entry administrator. I’ve been applying for jobs every week and have gone through the stage of enjoying my time of the redundancy payout I had from it, however I’m starting to get bored of just staring at all 4 walls each day. The job market is brutal at the moment especially when looking for part-time work which I’m restricted to due to being autistic.

So I’d like to ask this question, what do you do with all the free time during unemployment?

Hotel recommendations for August bank holiday weekend

I’m planning on visiting Blackpool for the next bank holiday weekend which is the end of August and I would like a hotel that’s by North and Central pier area for the convenience, but I’m not sure what is a good hotel to go for. The ideal hotel I would like is a little bar area so I can chill in the evening as most times I’ve been to the place, it’s only been a dining room.

Does anyone have any recommendations? It will be a solo trip

The Lost Continent archives

In light of the Lost Continent being no more, here are some photos I took from my first trip to Universal’s IOA in early May. It was incredible to see it in person, but a shame for it to go.

I will do a review of the parks from my trip soon.

Avanti west coast

When do off peak return tickets start time wise on Fridays? I used it on the 3rd May and have returned to Heathrow after a ten day holiday in America. I still have the off peak return ticket and have been wondering when it will work as my flight came in very early. The journey will be from Euston to Milton Keynes

The Mummy experience

I haven’t long got off the newly imagined Revenge of the Mummy and I’m speechless at how awesome of an indoor ride it is, from the launch aspect, the fake-end segment and not forgetting the special effects that go into it make a league of its own coaster which I’m grateful to be riding on. I didn’t get to do it a few days ago after my friend declined going on it with me due to Jimmy Fallon causing motion sickness to him. Highly recommend The Mummy to anyone

Perfect setting for dark universe

There may be a ton of rain impacting a huge majority of the outdoor rides, however this weather is perfect for Frankenstein Manor!

Velocicoaster night ride

So today I managed to get 6 re rides of Velocicoaster to add to the two I did at the beginning of the week giving a grand total of 8 rides so far on the ride, I just couldn’t get enough of it! On the 8th ride it was extra special because I was the second to last carriage on the back row in the dark which was incredible to say the least!

Mythos and lost continent

Today I had a meal at the incredible Mythos restaurant and it was so good. I never seen so much detail into a restaurant in such an iconic setting at Islands of Adventure and I’m gutted that the whole land will be no more. I grew up watching POVs of the area with Poseidon’s Fury and Duelling Dragons on YouTube which made me want to visit the place.

I don’t know what the plans are for the replacement of Lost Continent, but I would love them to do a Game of Thrones themed area as that would look cool!
