Sandboarding on the East Coast?

I’ve been looking for some big dunes to take my rock board down to scratch the snowboarding itch. The only possible place I have managed to find (but haven’t gotten the time to make the trip yet) is Dunes de Tadoussac in Quebec. Are there any other places? Also has anyone sandboarded that place in Quebec?

What do I do?

Started a small print before I went to work and came home to this. Somehow the filament just like oozed around the nozzle and the silicone heat guard. You can even see that the filament when up into the casing at least some(see it in the back?). Where do I even start to fix this and what caused it in the first place?

Best canned soup for ski days?

When my gf and I go skiing, we usually bring a thermos of soup to have for lunch. The soups we make ourselves are awesome but take prep time. A lot of the canned soups we’ve tried get old after like a day or just aren’t that good. Chicken noodle is usually pretty good but it also doesn’t have as good sustenance as other soups.

Any one have any canned soup recommendations that are filling and great tasting?

What’s going on with Jolt?

Jolt is a brand of chargers, and they never work. The issue is the payment processors never work, and logging into the app just kicks you to the Home Screen without any errors. I figured they’d find their way but it’s been this way for over a year. Is the company bankrupt or something?

Off season board sports?

What off season board sports do the snowboarders out there like best? I picked up skimboarding a few years back and looking to maybe pick up surfskate. What skateboard derivatives does everyone find the most enjoyable and similar to carving the mountain (longboard, surfskate, etc).

I am absolutely itching to get back on the snow but I need to indulge in the summer while I have it!

Can I revert my FSD to before V14 Lite?

Did my first longer trip this weekend (4hrs each way) with 14 lite and I’m hoping to see if I can go back.

Three main things are driving me crazy:

  1. Fantom Braking- Before this was a pretty rare thing that happened, but now it happens frequently enough that I turn off FSD if anyone is behind me. I’m worried that they will either hit me or think I’m purposely brake checking them constantly. This seems to be mostly a problem on smaller back roads though. I still had issues with this on the interstate but not as bad. I am worried it will wear out my brakes quick.

  2. Can’t reach speed limit- A lot of my driving this weekend were on rural roads and it had trouble maintaining the speed limit. I would put it in hurry mode and it would be below the speed limit most the time. It knew the speed limit, it just didn’t go it. In high school I used to go well over the speed limit on these roads with ease, so it shouldn’t be hard.

  3. The speed profiles aren’t very dynamic- going from Standard to Hurry and vice versa is a big jump. They are like 10 mph difference and it’s just too big of a difference. On interstate I like to go like 5 over and I felt like lots of times standard would put me at the speed limit and hurry would put me at 10 over. Atleast before I could put it in hurry and cap it at 5 over. Also I find that the new driving profiles do not take in you pressing in the gas as a nudge to go faster. Before 14, if I pressed the gas, it would get the hint that I want to go faster and will maintain that speed for a while. Now it will immediately break as soon as I let off the gas and go back to business as usual. This is all super annoying when you’re trying to pass people on the interstate. I find lots of times when I am in standard and in the right lane and we approach a slightly slower car, it will get in the left lane without a plan to pass it with any speed. It will very slowly pass. To get around this I will either press on the gas to go faster and get around them or put it into hurry and then get over and put it back into standard. In either case it will immediately slow down to standard speeds and I can definitely see this being jarring for the drivers around me

While the starting FSD from park and self parking is cool, I think these drawbacks above are making me really want revert back to V12. Is that possible?

Andes Mega Storm!

Looks like Andes resorts are finally going to get the goods. It’s going to take them from a slow start of like 17 inches so far this year at Valle Nevado to like ~200 inches in one storm! They say some places could get 8 meters of snow🤯

Is a snow skirt annoying when hiking?

I am looking to get one shell for snowboarding, Splitboarding and hiking. Because of this I want a somewhat unique set of features I think: pass pocket on sleeve, hood compatible with helmet and preferably no snowguard/skirt. All the jackets I can find though that have helmet hoods and pass pockets also have snowguard/skirts.

Has anyone daily’d a jacket with a snowguard/skirt for hiking? Was it annoying?

Edit: looking to get something like this

How to silent car when sleeping without camp mode?

I camp in my car a bunch with camp mode on but tonight it is comfortable outside without it so I want to have it off to conserve battery. Also I plan on parking on the street so less sounds the better for stealth. Well I found when put it in park, turn off the climate control and hop in the back, the car still makes like some humming noise. Is there anyway to just completely turn it off?

Can you charge at superchargers with these?

Thinking of getting a cargo carrier like this so we can keep the bed in the back set up all the time. This way we don’t have to shuffle around cargo every night. The issue is can we get close enough to chargers to charge? Has anyone tried these and know for sure?

I have a 2021 Tesla Model Y, and I really miss blind spot indicators on the mirror. I still drive my old car a lot (it’s the girlfriend’s car now) and swapping between the two a lot is challenging. I think since I don’t see a light on the mirror of my Tesla means that the blind spot is clear. Which is bad. Even if i do think to check the middle screen, it only shows the screen after I turn on my turn signal, it’s hard to see on sunny days, and takes more mental analysis than a simple indicator.

There are a lot of after-market/third-party options out there but I don’t know if I trust their reviews on their own website. And the Amazon options only have like 2 reviews.

Any recommendations?

Vermont is looking to stay pretty frosty this weekend With Jay mostly staying below freezing, and similar story for Killington and the Bush but with some hope it will get above freezing in the afternoon. Anyone think it will be fun to ski or will it just be too hard? Will grooming help at all?
