When are stability poles allowed?

I typically always use the stability pole when I am doing a carriage lunge on the black side. Today we were doing a platform lunge on the black side (as in, working foot on the black side) and I was having a lot of trouble with stability. I was using the black handlebars but it was really hard for me to get back up without getting very wobbly. I got my stability pole then the instructor came over and took it from me and said that I should be using the black handlebars. Is this typical? What exercises are the stability poles supposed to be used for?

CTR Review

I’ve been to a couple CTR classes and wanted to ask if anyone else felt the same way about these classes. I’ve taken many Pilates classes at a bunch of different studios, and I feel like I can typically classify them as “classical” reformer Pilates versus modern-Lagree-like-strength Pilates classes (e.g. Solidcore).

I see the benefits of both, but personally, I feel like CTR is a poor mixture of these categories. I feel like it’s too fast paced to be a classical reformer class but not intense enough to be a “strength” Pilates class. Does anyone else feel the same way?

This could be instructor dependent, but at my Lifetime, the transitions are so fast and the time in each exercise seems to be very quick. I keep giving them another shot because it would be so convenient to have a reformer class at Lifetime that I can do instead of outside memberships, but I can’t get myself to like CTR.

FIT Rewards Points

Hi everyone, I just recently signed up to join loyalty program. It’s been stuck on this calculating points screen for a few hours now. Is it supposed to take this long?

1 Year of Spironolactone

1 year of Spironolactone! Very happy with this progress. These last faint dots are taking the longest to go away though. Started off on 50 mg for 3 months, then 100 mg for 6 months, and now I’m on 125 mg. I am also on 0.1% tretinoin and 15% Azelaic acid. Hoping that these last marks will eventually fade.

Was Jay rich when Claire and Mitch were kids?

Not sure if this was ever explicitly mentioned in the show, but was Jay already well off when Claire and Mitch were kids? I never thought of them as like having a rich upbringing. Did Jay get his wealth later on when they were a bit older?

Long Femurs

Any other tall girls/long femured girls really struggle with keeping knee above ankle while also trying to hit 90 degrees? For me, I struggle so much with getting to 90 degrees in single leg squat and heavy squat without my knees going over my ankles. I really rely on the handlebar in front of me, but I feel like I’m taking away too much tension from my legs by doing this.

Locker Room Pet Peeve

Why do people put stuff in the lockers without locking it? I understand in other gyms where locks aren’t provided, and they’re just willing to risk them being stolen, but it doesn’t make sense to me at Lifetime where the lockers have locks for you! I get so annoyed when I’m looking for an open locker, and I open 3 in a row that are unlocked but have stuff in them.

I wish Diamond plan could get an additional standard check-in.

For as much as I’m paying for Diamond, I wish I could be able to go to the gym as well as attend a class in the same day. It’s nice to be able to do this 4x a week when doing a premium class and a standard check in, but I wish we could get a second daily standard check in.
