A HUGE thank you

Thank you everyone for all your patience and all your help with my many questions. I appreciate it so much! Since my plants were already stressed and we have a heatwave, I went all out. I’ve been watering an insane amount. Twice a day for a minute each plant. (6 am and 6 pm)Yesterday my dahlias were wilting at 10ish so I watered everyone again. This morning my tomatoes are looking great. Almost all of them have recovered and I believe the rest will in time! Thank you!!!

Which dahlia is this?

Got my dahlias mixed up. Do you think this is pink salvia, Thomas Edison or Alva’s regalia?

Is this a hornworm? Worried for tomatoes

I’ve never seen a hornworm . This guy is small (half an inch)and was found on my sunflower plant . Last pic is just for size reference

Sandy soil

Just figured out my soil is mostly sand. My dahlias love it but my veggies don’t. I know compost should be mixed in. When do you mix it in ? Spring fall? And what kind do you like?

Bud death

Will peony buds die if they don’t get enough sun? Mine started out good and then the tree grew leaves…

Seed collecting

I purchased an heirloom mix of tomato seeds. Has anyone saved seeds from the tomatoes themselves. I’ve done some research online and it mentioned having to ferment the pulp. I was wondering if anyone has had success with it.

Thank you

Thank you everyone for all your advice! I started watered deeply and I’ve added mulch and my tomatoes except for one have bounced back 100%. The one that hasn’t looks like it will eventually. I can’t thank you enough for all your help!!
