Icon appearing twice on MacOS?

Hi all,

I installed LibreWolf to my macbook last night and noticed whenever I open it up that the icon appears twice on the dock, unlike Chrome or any other app for that matter.

I downloaded the browser off the LibreWolf site and haven't used it before. Just curious if there's a way to avoid the icon appearing twice? It's no biggie, just a mild annoyance for me

Using PS4 controller to play Steam games?

Hi all,

I got Steam on my Macbook but I've never gotten the hang of using keyboard buttons for game controls (never been a PC gamer). I've always been a PlayStation guy and was wondering if there's a way to use my PS4 controller to play games.

I've noticed some games mention Xbox controllers but not PlayStation. Is there any workaround?

Any 24hr/late gyms near Bray/Greystones?

Gonna be staying near Greystones for a few weeks for work, but don't know of any gyms. I prefer working out when it's later and less people about, plus my job will have me working until mid-evening.

Any recommendations are welcome

Looking for a reference monitor

Hi all,

I'm starting a near-set DIT job soon and am looking at getting a monitor for when I'm grading. Admittedly I'm quite limited with my budget, but I was looking at Flanders Scientific as they're highly regarded for their colour accuracy. My shoot will have me simply working away on the camera truck, making tweaks to the colour as per DP's notes.

Particularly I was looking at the DM211 and DM231, which I know have an 8-bit colour depth but like I said my budget's limited. Has anyone used either of these monitors? Would it even be worth getting them at this stage?

Any decent treatments?

Hi everyone,

For the last couple of years I've been experiencing dry skin around my mouth and chin, very much like dandruff. Occasionally in mh eyebrows too. I usually treated it by keeping my beard trimmer short and failing to maintain a skincare routine, but even after a single day it flares up. Sometimes if I trim my beard after a couple weeks I'll find it's spread a bit.

Gave it a Google, found this subreddit and think this is what I'm experiencing. Just wondering if there are any treatments available?

Hard cases for Camp Snap Pro?

Hi all,

My partner just gifted me a CS-Pro and as much as I love it, holding it in my hands it feels a little cheap/flimsy. I know they're not meant to be high-end cameras, but I'm worried about breaking or damaging it.

Are there are cases for the CS-Pro similar to the hard cases like the one for the CS-2? I see Camera Bag on their site but I feel like it only provides so much production.

Non-AI alternative work spaces?

Hi all,

I work freelance have been using a work-related Gmail account for emails and cloud storage (keeping copies of reports, projects, etc.) but want to stop using Google because of their use of AI and to protect my data. Naturally I looked at Microsoft but quickly found they heavily use AI too.

Just wondering what the best alternative to Gmail would be? Thanks

Thoughts on Mojeek?

Hi all,

To cut to the chase I'm wanting to use a new search engine since Google's completely using AI (a bad one at that) and found one called Mojeek. I tried searching a couple of things and honestly it reminds me of what Google used to be 15-20 years ago. From what I've read they don't use AI, don't track your data and honestly it all seems to be a good alternative.

I'm just curious if anyone else uses it as their main search engine? I'm looking to not use Google at all, which is going to be tricky since I have a G-Mail for work (self-employed) and use their password manager and Google drive - but that's something I can figure out later.

Any feedback would be useful! Thanks

Just learned about Alexithymia

I'm in my late twenties, was diagnosed with mild autism (likely asperger's) when I was ten. Communicating my emotions snd feelings is something I've struggled with, especially as an adult, and it's led to arguments over the years.

Most of the time it's because I'm not communicating with my partner that I'm not feeling ok, and the reason I don't always do that is because I can't explain why that is. Sometimes I just feel irritable or sad, with no reason behind it, and because I don't understand it I can't communicate what's going on. In my head my logic goes "you've no reason to feel this way, so how can you explain this to them?" and when things get tense I get so frustrated that I have an autistic shutdown.

I was actually watching some YouTube video where a guy shares what psychological disorder each character in The Boys has, and Alexithymia was mentioned. As soon as he explained what it was it was like an epiphany. Admittedly I was drunk when I heard about it, but it still had me thinking the next day.

Not saying I definitely have it, but I think it could be linked to my situation. Perhaps I'm overthinking it and I'm simply a bad communicator, but something about this sounds familiar.

Hi everyone,

I've been using Kirkland minoxidil (along with finasteride) for about 4 years now and am happy with how my hair's looking. That being said, I can't seem to find genuine Kirkland products anywhere online. Ebay only seems to have sellers based in China, and UK-based minoxidil sites seem a little too good to be true.

There are other brands like Hims and Sons, but they're a lot more expensive than Kirkland. Anyone got any links?
