Bullet trimming

Bullet trimming

Have a box of 1000 of the 55 gr .224 FMJ bullets. No use for them as I'm primarily a varmint hunter. I like bullets that make ground squirrels and PDs explode.

So I was thinking that if there was a quick and easy and consistent way to clip the tips of and make them 35 or 40 grain soft points they might do the trick in a 223.

Suggestions for a way to quickly and consistently clip the tips off?

25-35 AI Forming problem solved

With the help of you all on here I figured out the process of turning new 30-30 brass into 25-35 ish brass ready to fire form to AI.

I looked up the specs and saw that 7-30 Waters has a shorter neck than 25-35 AI. So I took a bit off the bottom of my 7-30 sizing die so I could size more of the neck.

Brass comes out of the 25-35 AI die looking great.

Now we'll see if I can get away with fire forming without annealing...

Thanks for the help.

25-35 from 30-30 brass

Picked up a 25-35 AI. Trying to make some brass. Starting with brand new Starline 30-30 brass. Run it through 7/30 Waters sizing die (Lee) no problem.

But then my CH Tool & Die 25-35 AI sizing die does this. Works great on the 7mm portion but once it gets to the unsized spot it buckles.

Tried more and less lube to no avail.

Suggestions?

Looks like if I had a sizing die that would neck it to 7mm all the way it would work fine. Not sure what die that would be though...

Pork

Been carnivore for 5 years now. Doing great. Used to eat a lot of pork. But the past couple years it's been mostly beef with some occasional fish, deer, and elk.

Nowadays whenever I eat pork I just feel a little off. Not terrible but just a little off in the stomach and almost a little brain fog/fatigue. Even pork from pigs that my brother raises on whole natural feed.

Not a problem as I don't really care about pork but I'm just curious.

Anyone else have problems with pork? Any idea why?

Canker sores

5 years ago asthma was kicking my but so I went on a strict elimination diet of nothing but beef, salt, and water to see if I could find some food triggers to get some relief. Which I did. Legumes, brassicas, and a laundry list of synthetic ingredients worsen my asthma. I am 5 years now of no meds and my asthma and hay fever are in remission.

A surprise to my elimination diet was that my canker sores cleared up. I used to almost always have a canker or four in my mouth. After a month on the strict carnivore diet my cankers were all gone. Even if I bit my cheek, I wouldn't get a canker. Truly amazing as I have dealt with them as long as I can remember.

5 years after starting carnivore for asthma I am still on it just for the canker sores. The only plant matter I have found that doesn't cause canker sores is home grown raspberries.

Cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, peppers, carrots, etc all give me canker sores, even fresh picked and washed (or not) out of my Aunt's garden. Cherries, apples, apricots etc from our orchard also give me canker sores and itchy mouth.

I would really like to get off the carnivore diet just for some added variety but I will gladly just eat beef if it means I don't have to deal with canker sores.

Any ideas why just about any plant matter gives me canker sores? And is there anything I can do about it?

And I'm not trying to push the carnivore diet. It has worked for me and I am doing well but I don't really like it and want to add some plants back into my diet. The carnivore subs just tell me to keep doing what I'm doing if it works. Thought some of you might have experience...

Cheese

Been bouncing between strict carnivore and carnivore + low carb dairy for 5 years now. On strict carnivore my asthma is in complete remission but my stools are very loose when I eat enough fat to feel my best.

When I add in a little low carb cheese my stools are much better and I feel great for the most part, but after a couple months my asthma comes creeping back.

Cut dairy out and my asthma is gone two weeks later and my stools are loose.

Suggestions? Less fat leaves me feeling hungry and low on energy unless I absolutely stuff myself with protein a couple times a day.

CRF300L vs Husky 701

Have a CRF250L and 450L. Great bikes. Thinking about adding a CRF300L. But the specs aren't a whole lot different from a 701 outside of suspension and power where the 701 obviously wins hands down. Basically the same weight.

But I'm a die hard Honda fan.

Any reason to even consider a 300L instead of a 701 (or GasGas 700) besides cost?

Rifle Scabbard

Anyone have suggestions for a rifle scabbard to mount on a dual sport dirt bike? I currently pack a big bore pistol in the middle of nowhere in MT but I'd rather have a rifle.

Anyone figured out how to carry a rifle so it won't get hurt in wreck? Fork mounted scabbard maybe?

GL1800 suspension

Been wanting a late 2000s GL1800. My brother has one and I love it. My only complaint is the rough ride on rough gravel roads. Just seems stiff and harsh.

Is there any way to make the suspension a little more plush?

Dietary triggers

I tried a carnivore diet out of desparation as the most effective medications were giving me side effects. Ended up putting my asthma in remission.

Been carnivore for almost 5 years. I keep trying to add foods back in but just about all plant matter causes problems for me. If I cheat at all I get a flare up.

The only thing I have found so far that doesn't bother me is fresh picked raspberries.

I feel great and can breathe better than ever. But carnivore kinda sucks. I would really like to be able to add even just a little variety back into my diet.

I have two questions:

Why does carnivore put my asthma in remission? If I cheat at all I get a flare up. If I stay strict I never have any problems.

Is there anything I can do to be able to add any variety back into my diet without going back on medications?

Don't do a lot of camping but I enjoy spending a night in the woods. 450 dirt bike. No luggage provisions. Looking for a backpack to put a mummy bag, a tarp, and a few ofs and ends in. Hiking backpacks kill my back on the dirt bike.

Suggestions for a good sized dirt bike backpack?
