"Import web image" does not work in Ubuntu

I am trying to import an SVG image from Wikimedia Commons directly into Inkscape, but I am running into a wall on my attempts. I go to File, then Import Web Image, and I am presented with a dialog. I attempt to enter the URL of the SVG image in question into that dialog, but when I hit Enter, the only thing that happens is Ubuntu popping up a message that "Inkscape is not responding", and the only way I can get rid of that is to close the Import Web Image dialog. How do I get an SVG image from Wikimedia Commons into Inkscape? I do not want to just save it to my hard drive because that will only make a mess.

A new bridge meant to expedite Canada-U.S. trade is built, but not open. Why?

https://www.npr.org/2026/06/28/nx-s1-5874022/a-new-bridge-meant-to-expedite-canada-u-s-trade-is-built-but-not-open-why

I will tell you exactly why. It is because opening it would reduce the revenues going to the owners of the Ambassador Bridge, and they will never tolerate that. The Morouns are going to keep the Gordie Howe International Bridge closed for as long as they do not own it, so do not expect it to open anytime soon, if ever. It is now nothing but a political pawn.

It is too bad you cannot tune into CBC Music on your car radio while in the Comox Valley.

I am listening to it online, and it sounds pretty good. It would probably be the easiest way to get a dose of Canadiana or easy listening for someone listening on a conventional radio, or a way to relax while driving. Does anyone else in the Comox Valley wish they could get CBC Music while offline? It used to be known as CBC Radio 2.
