Want to attempt something unorthodox - coastal support

( Yes this is a trustworthy supplier )

Now I am someone who likes... weird things. Or stretching the game and its rules as much as possible.

So the same supplier had 1/100th waterline models of German destroyers.. but they were WW1 ships so nah.

This smaller sub chaser might be better anyway.

Armament for this ship could be either a 3" main gun, or a 40mm Bofors, with a supplement of 50 caliber MGs or later, a small selection of single 20mm guns.

If I ABSOLUTELY had to have this in a game, would I treat it more as a edge of the board bunker that can give fire support, or treat it more like a train that instead of being locked to a track, is locked to whatever body of water is present?

Suspend your belief on how this might ruin your average game.

Have we gotten any updates about licensed RL cars moving over?

I have a Porsche 911, Nissan Silvia, and VW Gti that I would like to use, but cant until Epic ports them over, which i heard awhile ago they were in the works to port two of those.

Undertaking a small custom, rule ideas?

I will be making the No.5 "Hercules" armoured train as a piece, Im definitely struggling with the scale but its a work in progress.

Anyone have an idea for rules to apply? Or perhaps how I can work it into a list.

[US-NM] Looking to have a 482 loco printed in an odd, very small scale

Put simply, I need a 1/100th scale model, of a train thats already 1/3 sized.

Odd request Im aware, I need to find a file to it or something similar as the No.5 "Hercules" isnt really an existing public model.

What would be the best way of incorporating these as model stand ins?

Ive heavily considered making a K47 Prewar Fallout army, and obviously power armor is required. Im still new to K47, so would these be fair stand ins for heavy armor infantry, or something else?

A server for those of you who want what the game lacks

https://discord.gg/rVSejPUsdJ

We're just starting out have experience with past servers.

The battles span from Interwar, World War II, Postwar, and Cold War overall. With an expectation of the use of real tactics and formations, while on either realistic or simulator settings. CAS will exist but is limited.

The server is also soon to be home to a small naval community, ans potentially air as well.

Though the servers not totally serious, you can join and play War Thunder casually, we play, watch movies, and enjoy each other's company, so come join us!

Painted my 60s M1 for the next time I play FoW

My masking could've been a little better, but decent for freehanding it. Ill probably weather it, and I dont know what other accessories could go on a Captains helmet. Much less one for a AAA battalion.

My Ersatz Panzer IV and M10 Panther for my WIP German Greif army

The first two photos are the last stage of them done. With the poorly done varnish I applied. The third photo was BEFORE the varnish so they look less dusty.

Im still quite happy with how they turned out. I bought some "Americans with looted German weapons" to make some officers for my Greif army (Germans in disguise as Americans)

And hopefully it all turns out well. This is my first Bolt Action army, and first real attempt at big models.

Now Ersatz and Greif are 2nd edition as Im aware so a lil problematic there, but I plan on buying and making a normal IV and Panther to sub out since I just bought Heer Winter as my bulk of the army (Ik Greif was mostly fallschirmjäger)

I present to you, the Ersatz Pz IV!

I uh.. went to spray varnish not considering it was humid, so its a lil dusty looking now..

But I finished it! Its 1/56th scale, for use in my "Operation Grief" Bolt Action army alongside my Ersatz Panther. It was my first time doing a large model really so Im glad it turned out pretty decent. There's a couple problems with it model wise but Im not bothered.

Custom Ersatz Pz IV, though Im struggling with the turret.

Even though it has very little basis or confirmation in reality, I read about the possibility that there might have been a Pz IV Ersatz, or at least how there was supposedly 12 other Ersatz (undescript) Panzers covered with sheeting and canvas. And since Im making a Operation Greif army for Bolt Action I thought a one off Pz IV would be fun.

Here it is so far, rough round the edges, but nothings perfect. My ONLY gripe, is I have NO idea what to do with the turret. The body has been adjusted to be remotely sherman adjacent in silhouette, from a distance. But I dont know how to disguise the turret. Any suggestions?

To avoid copy paste, redundancy, and simple stupidity, please replace the Skink in the US tech tree with the T85

Someone get Gajin to take inspo from their own M24DK and make every export have unique visuals.

I am one of those people extremely bothered by the whole "let's slap the M44 and M55 in every tree" and the same for certain other vehicles.

My solution is one that Gajin already kinda dealt with, by making every copy pasted vehicle have visual differences from each other. Like how the M24DK just has gear and bags, its simple, but it makes the vehicles feel ever so slightly more unique.

From a fictional point of view, if there was a third Ersatz tank, would it be a Panzer III or IV?

In Decemeber 1944, Operation Greif was launched, a huge subterfuge where the Germans took months planning for and preparing an entire battalion to imitate and infiltrate American soldiers and vehicles.

Of the battalions armor there were two Ersatz vehicles being 5 Panther Ausf.G tanks dressed to match a silhouette similar to the M10 Wolverine, an American tank destroyer.

And a select amount of Stug III Gs made to look vaguely American, but mostly dressed to break up its recognizable shape.

My question is, if there were a third Ersatz, would it be a Pz III or Pz IV? And how would it be disguised?

IVs ans IIIs were available at the time, IIIs being a lot less commonplace and being used mostly in command roles.

I feel like the IV would be difficult to disguised as a specific American tank very well, so we could assume it would have its cupola removed, and simply have additional metal sheeting that would slope the front of the hull, and also cover the recognizable engine bay. The turret could also receive sheeting or would simply get covered in canvas.

The Pz III on the other hand, would be uniquely qualified to be made into a semi convincing M24, and presuming that it could, and the Germans being aware of this, they might have gone through the trouble of acquiring acouple.

What do you think?
