Progress has been slow but you all deserve an update

Like the title says, life has been crazy so progress has been slow, but I’ve been motivated/jealous seeing other people post their Skaven Cogforts, so I wanted to give an update. I’m not a “pro” painter by any means, and this has been a monumental task for me (more used to batch painting squads).

Bottom half is nearing completion, just touching up little mistakes and adding details. It’s hard… because there are a lot. It’s easy to get lost and feel like no progress is happening (not an issue on a clanrat), so it’s helped to focus on one area from one vantage point and start blocking in details, and that section becomes my “batch”.

Top half is less worked out; still not sure about the color of the stone arch, and obviously the bell and Grey Seer aren’t really started.

Hope you all enjoy, and please drop some cool name suggestions!!!

Skaven Cogfort (update)

Thankful for all the support on the last post, figured I would provide an update. Made some progress on the Skaven cogfort, it still needs a cool name. Please give suggestions. Fiddled around with the placement of the crew, but I am pretty happy with the layout. I think now it’s going to be final decorations, and priming the subassemblies.

Skaven Cogfort

First large scale kitbash. As soon as I heard any faction in AoS could field these, my imagination went wild, and I knew what I had to do

Skaven Cogfort has begun

Been planning this out in my head for too long and spent too much money on this. Definitely isn’t done, still have a lot of rats to add, but it’s definitely the coolest thing I’ve ever worked on

Planning for Cogfort Conversion

I vent my fear glands in deference to the council and come squeaking advice

I have purchased a Cogfort, Screaming Bell, and Warp Lightning Cannon for the purposes of making a Skaven Cogfort truly worthy of the favor of the Great Horned Rat.

My question-problem: Screaming Bell is to make it into a Cogfort Belltower. The top cannon will be replaced by the Warp Lightning Cannon, but the cannon in the center of the tower could be left as is… Or…

I also have one Ratling Warpblaster on sprue, and one built. I could replace the second cannon with a Warpblaster, but now that is 3 potential units being scrapped for a conversion. Is it worth it to have two Warpblasters in a 2000 point army? I essentially have 2 Skaventide halves, Vizzik Skour, and the kits I bought to convert the Cogfort.

Pics are some rats I’ve painted, will post pics of the Cogfort as I work on it!
