We, as seafarers, are not part of any war. Our job is simply to transport cargo from one place to another.

If countries involved in a conflict think that commercial ships are supporting the enemy, they are mistaken. These are commercial vessels. The cargo belongs to the charterers, who hire the ship to transport their goods. The vessel and its crew only follow the agreed voyage under a commercial contract to earn a living.

Chief Engineer Naa belongs to PMMA Class of 2003. He was a good man and an innocent victim of this war.

The Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Evo City, Kawit, Cavite, has been named a finalist for the World Architecture Festival (WAF). Designed by Dominic Galicia Architects, the project is one of 416 finalists selected globally across various categories. The design will be presented live at the festival, which is scheduled for November 18–20 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The church’s design features the Vesica Piscis—an almond-shaped mandorla symbolizing the union of the spiritual and physical realms embodied by Christ. This sacred geometry is further emphasized by an east–west orientation that captures the movement of light throughout the day, complemented by a stained-glass window above the eastern altar and a rosary outline on the wall at the western entrance.

As the world’s largest live-judged architecture awards program, the annual World Architecture Festival serves as a global community for architects’ exchange of visionary ideas. Dominic Galicia Architects’ will be presenting the 1,000-seat church and its exquisite attention to detail, featuring deep integration of geometry, theology, and architectural form.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang dating Cavite National Science High School ay kilala na bilang Cavite Science Integrated School. Bagama't nagbago na ang pangalan nito, nananatili ang mataas na pamantayan ng edukasyon at ang mahusay na reputasyon ng paaralan sa paglikha ng mga mag-aaral na nagtatagumpay sa iba't ibang pambansa at pandaigdigang kompetisyon.

Ang pagkilalang ito ay hindi lamang tagumpay ng Cavite National Science High School kundi ng buong lalawigan ng Cavite, na patuloy na nagpapakita ng kahusayan sa larangan ng edukasyon.

Ibinahagi ni DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla ang malaking pagbabagong naganap sa Cavite at sa lungsod ng General Trias sa kanyang pagdalo sa State of the City Address noong Hunyo 26.

Ayon kay Remulla, noon ay kinatatakutan ng marami ang Cavite dahil sa imahe nito na iniuugnay sa kaguluhan at kriminalidad.

“Dati-dati takot na takot ang mga tao pumunta dito sa Cavite. Dati-dati pag may manliligaw na taga-Cavite, ayaw na ayaw ng nililigawan. Dati-dati ang General Trias ay pugad ng mga loko, ang daming mga loko dito,” ani Remulla.

Gayunman, sinabi ng kalihim na malaki na ang ipinagbago ng lalawigan at ng General Trias dahil sa bagong liderato at patuloy na pag-unlad sa mga nakalipas na taon.

“Pero sa pagdating ng bagong liderato, pagdating ng bagong siglo, ang daming nagbago. Kung dati puro gulo, ngayong kapayapaan. Kung dati puro kahirapan, ngayong kaunlaran,” dagdag niya.

Ang pahayag ni Remulla ay bahagi ng kanyang mensahe sa isinagawang State of the City Address sa General Trias noong Hunyo 26.
