Just finished up this purple Medusa jacket.

The jacket was a little tattered. So I covered up some of the holes and added the elbow patches. Also the spots around the pockets were starting to shred so I patch them as well.

Just finished up this Medusa jacket

I had a ton of fun working on this jacket. The back had a big stain and the cuffs were ripped. So I decided to go outside of the box for this repair.

Just finished the Medusa jacket

I wanted to share the process behind this jacket! This was a really fun project because I got to combine a few different textile techniques to bring it all together. Here is a quick breakdown of how I made it:

The Design:

I started by designing the Medusa graphic and printing it out at scale to use as my template.

Piecing it Together:

Using that template, I cut out various denim scraps to form the face and the snakes. To keep all those little pieces from shifting around, I ironed on an adhesive backing to hold the layout together.

Securing the Base:

Once it was ironed, I ran it through the heavy-duty machine to really lock that foundation in place.

The Handwork:

With the base secured, I moved on to the detail work using traditional Sashiko hand-stitching techniques to give it that rich texture.

Final Assembly:

Right before the Sashiko was completely finished, I machine-stitched the patch directly onto the jacket.

Finishing Touches:

Once it was attached, I went back in by hand to finish the most intricate details, like the snake tongues and teeth, and added the floral patches and Sashiko accents to the front of the jacket.

Just finished up this Sahiko denim jacket

I've had this concept for a while and finally took the time to do it. There was a big stain on the back of this jacket, as well as some rips on the cuffs. I also added some more details to the front as well.

Covered up some stains with Medusa

This jacket had quite a few stains on the back and ripped cuffs. So I wanted to do something fun to cover them up. So came up with this. Definitely one of my more ambitious projects but I had a ton of fun creating it!

Repaired these shorts with a skirt

This was my first project with my singer 4411. Prior to this I did all my stitching by hand mainly Sashiko inspired stitching. There was a rip in one of the front pockets and a stain on one the back pockets. Over the years I've been collecting fabric from many different sources. So when I found these shorts at a thrift store I knew the exact fabric I wanted to go with. I love the shape of the pockets so I knew I wanted all 4 to have this unique pattern. The spots where I did the Sashiko stitching were to help mend the sections that had holes or were becoming thin. Some of the other Sashiko stickers were more for aesthetics. In the future I plan on taking more difficult projects, this was a good intro into using a sewing machine.

Repaired these shorts with a ripped skirt

These BDG shorts had a few holes, so I took a ripped skirt with some Sashiko stitching and patches them up.

Finished these Upcyled pants with some Sahiko and patches.

I added a few extra patches to keep everything symmetrical and used Sahiko to cover up some stains. These were definitely fun to do.
