Support Combinations , and how the healing debuff should dictate those hero picks.

I have been a DPS player for as long as I can imagine, and with a support duo who usually sits a bit lower rank wise, they asked me to play support so I can work on my knowledge. This was a couple seasons ago and since starting I have consistently sat at masters with support. They are still baffled by this and struggle with supporting despite that being their "thing".

The problem.

Their biggest issue is what I want to talk about here and get some opinions on. Mainly because looking around, I see a lot of other support mains with an opposition to how I play, focusing on healing first, utility second. My friend has the philosophy stuck in his head that they are not a healer first and should not prioritize it. They even go far to avoid supports that I have labeled from my personal experience as main healers and off healers. I personally believe that you should always have one of each on a team and if you do not, you are going to lose out in solo / duo queue.

Why does it feel like the majority of players hold this opinion?

The opinion that supports are not healers. The primary function of a support is that they can heal. It is what seperates the role and we have yet to have a support hero who cannot heal. No one is telling you to just be a heal bot, as each support has a different priority for what their objectives are.

A good example is looking through replays and watching my friend play support. He has the same healing score as the majority, but the heals are never actually producing any results. If you heal a 300 hp hero and they accomplish nothing and die, your healing has essentially been zeroed out. This was a lot of his healing, mainly because priorities were more focused on DPS and utility. His picks never accomplished real objectives despite securing some kills and doing a shadow of what he could possibly do.

Do you pick your support with the healing debuff in mind?

Do you consider it? How much total healing you can output if your ally is taking damage? How you can respectfully heal an ally who has properly backed off and is now in cover? That if you are playing with a brig, and you pick zen, that you have no burst healing to top off your team when they return. How do you deal with not having that healing?

Rant- People, Post Your Schedules

This is a subreddit focused on finding other people to play with, finding pals. Just like in real life, you have to tell people when you are available to play and be active. A majority of people here have jobs and those jobs can be at different times during the day. If you only play from one to three every other day, I am going to bet a lot of people are not going to be able to play who work nights or mornings.

Adding to this, just because you say you are EST, does not mean we know when you are playing. There are currently like seven or eight posts that do not mention a single frame of time to when they play. If you do, people would be more receptive and easier to communicate with initially.

Also use tag words so people can search your post. (Morning, night, night owl, evening, late night, ect)

Game would be perfect if they just toned down the mass spotting by like 80%.

My one and biggest gripe. Being spotted 90% of the time is just such a bummer in most cases. Spotting is just too powerful.

[NA] [Late Night] 35M Support : Looking for a permanent ADC duo To Start Fresh With

What I am looking for-

21+ individual

Plays Late Nights starting around 11PM EST ( other timezones fine).

Plays ADC and wants to run a fresh account. Interested primarily in duo ranked.

Hello, I am King (actual name), and am looking for a late night duo. I have been a support main since forever and have been up and down in ranks up to diamond (Probably more or a gold player on average).

My goal is to find someone to vibe with in LoL, playing late nights. I want to take a long time favorite engage pick and bring it into a fresh account. My original account has been alive so long it is just all out of wack.

I am not looking for a flex, I am looking for an ADC who specializes and knows what they play. I do not mind one tricks. I am not looking for someone who plays all day. Last person who did this literally would play eight hours and then when I got on would only want to play one or two games. I work, can't do that.

No toxicity. No in game chat. Discord voice only. If you are interested, add me on discord : Mr.King

Dabbling in smolder. Do you gain more stacks from waves or enemies?

It is a question I had after doing some tests in a stack. Do we gain more from hitting enemies consistently? Or farming? I ran him a support jokingly and it did better then I thought it should.... With pure focus on abilities against the two botlanes I was getting pretty equal stack times. It felt like the ratio of stacks was drastically better at the start of game and then equalized. 25 minutes on support smolder focusing on it, hit 250 stacks. I am not saying support smolder, but how does this translate into smolders true use?

The amount of homophobic comments, racism, and just downright over the line remarks by some Deadlock players are wild.

It is absolutely wild the type of players this game has attracted. Full on southern drawl incels, yelling the most homophobic, racist things while telling others to off themselves. I have played online games for 20+ years and I have never heard it this bad.

The worst part is? People stand besides these people and just laugh at it. The mentality is absolutely absurd.

Returning player here, are all players of the same class and spec running the same exact thing?

So been away for quite a bit and wanted to ask this question. Do all players of the same class and spec run the same exact thing?

I was looking through people's builds and I just keep finding the same exact thing across so many people. Every [Insert class here] running [insert spec here] runs the same exact build or kit. If they do not have it, they are trying to push to get it. The eventual end game is just one meta set that has no difference?

Edit: This is not concerning skill or anything relating to what you choose to do and not do. Basically if you did every single thing in order, with progression, there is zero horizontal progression regarding character power.

Thew new matchmaking is absolutely terrible. The "carry or be left behind." mentality needs left at the door with this game.

Recent mathcmaking changes have absolutely floored playing supports and tanks. If you are not carrying you are given such a huge disadvantage with your allies and it is not fun.

This is a team game first, not a free for all deathmatch where whoever gets the charity carry wins. I do not want to carry anymore. I am sick of every single game my lane partner is the freshest of god dam players who either feeds or runs around in circles as the enemy farms us.

I had a first game player last match. THEY did not even know what urn was. I am not mad at them, I am mad at the game. I am not here to babysit.

Edit: This is not about skill. Why? Because lets say I am terrible, I am in the rank I deserve to be in. If that is the case, why am I being forced to carry every game? Even if you are bad you should not have to force run every character you love as a hard carry. Not all of us are here to be the highest rank, some of us just want to have fun in the rank we are in.
